I stopped by Great American Bagel for breakfast at the airport, and while the experience was…read moredecent, I have to admit that I was a bit underwhelmed by the bagel. As someone who has lived in New York City and experienced some of the best bagels around, I can say that the bagel here just didn't quite live up to my hopes. Staff was great very friendly and I enjoyed the coffee, was very convenient for my flight!

This eatery seemed promising, but I passed on the sandwiches for two reasons: 1) the food looked as though it was sitting out for quite some time and 2) this older gal just blurts out "ehhhh?" to anyone she wasn't paying attention to . Older gal: (with her head facing the wall putting on new gloves) Can I help you? Me: Where are the coffee cups? Older gal: (she pops one of the gloves against her wrist like a doctor would just before an exam) Ehhhh? (finally she turns towards me) Me: The coffee cu- Older gal: (pointing a bit dramatically) Oh they're just around the corner over there on the other side. Me: I see them now. Thank you. Older gal: Ehhhhh? Me: (on the verge of a major sarcastic comeback, but I just said even louder...) THANKS. I wanted some fresh fruit which they have, but the apples looked a bit beat up and the bananas overripe. I settled for a bag of Miss Vickie's jalapeño chips and a regular coffee. No complaints there. Hand Cafe nailed the quirky, weird and fun intellectual art aesthetic. If you are looking for a…read moreunique coffee shop with hand themed decor. Hand Cafe is going to be your new favorite coffee spot to hangout at while enjoying top tier coffee. Hand Cafe is a quality over quantity coffee shop and I think most can appreciate their dedication to this mission. So many places push watered down overpriced coffee, but not hand cafe. They give you that caffeine punch you are looking for and at a fair price. I highly recommend this coffee shop and ordering one of their bagels. If you are wanting some coffee and lunch they have great options.

The service was 10/10, as was the vegetarian bagel. The coffee itself was also delicious - but I was shocked to find out that they don't have lids for their hot (to-go) coffee cups? Insert mind-blown emoji here. Maybe it was the young barista in me, but this seems like a safety hazard? Isn't this what McDonald's was sued over years ago WITH lids? Y'all just asking for trouble in midland? "Here's a cup of hot coffee, good luck not burning yourself when you get in the car, or do anything besides sitting right down and drinking it all in our cafe" LOL. Is this why they call it "Hand Cafe" because eventually you'll burn the? If it's for the environment, I kind of get it, but the in-house drinkers all had paper cups too. Where are the giant coffee house cups? I'm assuming I'm not the first one to be confused by this lidless approach because when we were searching for the lid by the counter an older barista confidently pipped up and said "we don't carry lids for the coffee" as if it was normal? Idk. I hate to complain, but I would suggest that the baristas make note of this before letting someone order a hot drink to go! Moral of the story: drink in house, or bring your own thermal to go! ‍‍‍
