I feel like history lessons are missed when you fly your flag at full mast on 9/11. Disappointment that #neverforget is no longer a thing.

Great academics. But patriotic is questionable. Flag on 9/11 flying half mast. Feel like there was a missed history lesson here for the kids.

    Music rocks!

We unexpectedly moved to the area and had three weeks to look for a school before the year started. We started with another school which didn't work out at all. After we found SPLS, I wished so much that we had found them a lot sooner. First and foremost, the school fosters a faith-filled nurturing environment. You feel this in the core of the school community among the teachers, the office staff, and the administration. They genuinely care about our students and are so kind and wonderful. The academics are top-notch and are taught in a fun and engaging way. Our teachers are not only very credentialed but have amazing backgrounds in homeschooling and years of experience in many other school settings. My daughter came home with math homework once which looked like something I didn't see until I was older. I was prepared to relearn the lesson and teach it to her when she said, "Don't worry. My teacher taught me again when I didn't understand it the first time. I got it. It's actually easy!" This spoke volumes that my daughter would feel encouraged and confident even as learning gets challenging. The families here are diverse. It is a beautiful community where my child shares things about her culture and learns about others. During the summer, my daughter can't wait to start school as she misses her teachers and friends. Fortunately, the school has a summer enrichment program that runs through July. We feel blessed that our daughter was able to get into this school. I have toured 3 private schools and our local public school. Hands down I cannot even compare. They checked off all of my boxes and then some. There is no other school as special as this place has been for us. It makes me feel confident as a parent that my child is getting a solid foundation. Thank you SPLS for welcoming us with open arms.

He was also the owner of Herburger Publications, a newspaper printing plant. His support for education and Elk Grove schools resulted in a partnership with the school district and many statewide awards for his education reporting beginning in 1959. He graduated from Stratton High School in 1948 and the University of Missouri, School of Journalism, in 1953. He then attended the United States Air Force where he graduated from Officer's Training in 1955. He served in the military until 1957 as a first lieutenant navigator, instructor. When Mr. Herburger took over the Elk Grove Citizen in 1959, he determined that schools and education should be the central theme of his newspapers. In addition to the Citizen, Galt Herald was also under his ownership, so he became a supporter of schools throughout south Sacramento County. He is a supporter of the Los Rios colleges and Delta College as well. Mr. Herburger was active in statewide publishing groups, and since 1981, he served on the California Newspapers Publishers Literacy Committee

There's so many other centers in Elk Grove (that take child action) please don't need to settle for this place. Sara the owner will gaslight your child before they take anything serious other than protecting her business. In it for the money, not for kids. Said my son was a liar for communicating the way his four year old brain knows how. She shouldn't be involved in childcare. She's a business owner & that's it, she needs to be in another industry. In the video where my son got hurt, an employee walks past as my son holds his eye and somehow no one noticed. No one investigated camera footage or filed injury reports or told his dad or me until I said something the next day (even though his eye was visibly red.) My son crawled towards a kid who accidentally poked his eye. Sara the owner said either my son poked himself or this other child did, because my son fast crawled towards him to headbutt him. My son crawled normally towards him and was clearly not trying to headbutt him, he was acting as a four year old would, going up to someone to play. His eye got poked and she was turning it around on my son as if it's his fault, rather than being a mature adult. He is four years old. The owner Sara said all these kids are like her kids, but she spelt my sons name wrong & I have never seen her. She said think about the other child and his mom, what about my son- the one who got hurt? No one said they were sorry my son got hurt or hoped he was okay. She disenrolled my son without ever asking about my sons eye. She does not care about a child more than her business. During the time he went there my son told me that he plugs chargers in the wall and that his teacher told him he will be fat if he doesn't workout. Other situations would happen and I would ask about them, not accuse. I would tell them what my son would tell me and ask about it. Every time I'd be told that "they didn't see or hear anything like that happen." Somehow no one sees or hears anything here. It's clearly a communication problem and/or not paying attention. I got attitude from his teacher before too, and when I brought it up it was just denied.

He is now thriving in high school, but I do wish that we had the experience we are having now with him when he was in elementary and middle school. My middle son is a transfer student to Brookfield and my youngest is starting out at the Preschool. About our experience: First, touring the school my husband and I were so impressed by the diversity, the ideology of the school, the atmosphere and the attentive nature of staff and teachers. Second, the fact that they have a preschool/elementary/middle school in one space is dream for us and the way that each grade level has their own space is also incredible. Finally, we were beyond thrilled that our children are not only learning the standard subjects, but they are also have Spanish, Music, P.E and computers almost everyday. This is above and beyond the majority of schools we have toured and researched. Why I highly recommend Brookfield to families: + Education + Testing prior to acceptance to ensure your child/family will be a good fit for the school and assurance that they will thrive at the appropriate grade level +Diversity + Child care before and after school included in tuition + Spanish, Music, Technology and Physical Education classes almost daily +Teachers and staff have a true interest in your child's best interest + Option to have extracurricular activities before and after school + Caters to children who are in preschool-8th grade + Great playground and outdoor seating + Vibrant student culture + Safe and secure + Excellent communication and online access for parents to teachers and administration The list goes on and on...I am thankful to Dr. Jo and all of the staff for creating such an amazing space. Our children are so happy when they get home and look forward to going back to school each day.

Our sole purpose was so that he could build a strong foundation in morals and values rooted in Christianity. Once we got in, we were a bit surprised at many of the extra costs such as mandatory volunteer hours, which would become extra fees if not performed, extra costs for food, and even teachers' wishlists of what to buy them during Teacher Appreciation (who does that?). We paid it no mind because the purpose was for our son build a stronger relationship with God; so we went along with it. Throughout his approximate 6 months at Bradshaw Christian, he was essentially viewed and labeled as a problem child. By no means, do we believe our son is a perfect angel; however, he is a pretty typical, 2yo. If you're a parent, you know what I mean. We do what we can to get him to use gentle hands, keep his hands to himself, but at the same time, we want him to still be friendly and loving. The kid doesn't realize or believe he is doing anything wrong when he's hugging friends who may not want a hug. He's a 2yo and doesn't understand the concept of personal space. We've talked to the "teachers and admin" multiple times about several different things. One of the things was they seem to enjoy bringing 2yo to the office for punishment. Fine. No problem with that. Then they want us to pick him up from the office. I have told them that doesn't teach him anything. He immediately relates his actions as going to the office and getting picked up by us. They're simply reinforcing poor behavior and they don't get it. We've gotten numerous "incident reports" detailing what a horrible kid our son is. We can count on one hand how many reports we've gotten of him getting hurt by other friends. When we tell them and show them pictures of his bruises, scratches, etc., (one of them that looked like little circle bruises that looked like a kid's hand) they tell us because all of his other friends are defending themselves or others against him. Haha, are you kidding me?! Please tell me more about how our son is a sociopath! They've told us we need to shadow him or pick him up if he's acting out because they don't have proper staffing. Well, do we get a partial refund? No, of course not! So what am I paying you for? Fast forward to a day where they asked for us to leave work to shadow him or pick him up. I pull myself away to eventually go pick him up and I tell them not to take him to the office. They ignore that and so I hung up on them. I get there to pick him up and they want to talk about his behavior or whatever in front of him. I tell them no because that's an adult conversation. They just don't get it. Suffice it to say, they got their feelings hurt and kicked us out. Well, I hope they plan on giving us a refund for the rest of the month. Several of the teachers don't seem to be happy at all, and look like they hate their jobs. We've got plenty of examples of them trying to paint our son as some kind of a terror, but Yelp doesn't allow that much text. Long review but I can see why there have been several negative reviews. I was hoping that was a fluke or long gone. Doesn't appear to be. God is guiding us in a different direction and we pray they can figure it out. If they can't, hopefully they'll stop saying they're doing it for God's glory because that simply isn't true.
