Try the cherry queen or the cranberry, white chocolate scones - YUM!!! They will even heat them for you. The Chuck sandwich was awesome on soft, fluffy focaccia bread. So fresh with wonderful aoli and fresh greens. Great service at the counter and plenty to choose from. Just be prepared to wait in line and for a table. There is a large communal table in the center if you like to chat with strangers and a lovely, dog-friendly patio.

Every once in a while, I like to come visit my old neighborhood just for the memories. We like to go to the Cherry Tomato across the street because it was the Park Hill Drug Store when I lived on the block, but it doesn't open until later. So, this place is right across the street, and we stopped in. We were delighted. For us, it was just what a small cafe should be. It was open, friendly, and very good. I had the Vegetarian Green Chili, and found it to be as good, or better than any similar chili I've had in my entire life. I also had a plain, black coffee - dark roast - and it, too, was perfect. Most of all, I enjoyed looking around, watching the world go by, and enjoying these fine products in a friendly, comfortable, and inviting environment. There is plenty of room to move around, they do a good job of keeping things clean, and all of the staff are very nice, and accommodating. I do not live close to here, but I would come in every day if I did. I definitely will come back, and I definitely will recommend it to everyone I know. We LOVED it.

3.5 Stars. Went here…read moreper some recommendations on Reddit. I went with 2 sandwiches, The Brooklyn (Pastrami and Swiss cheese with pickles and a red sauce (thousand island ish), on a pretzel bun) and a Parisian (Ham, pickles and butter) on a baguette. The sandwiches were pretty tasty. A bit skimp on the meat though. The bread was great! Best part of the sandwich, for sure. They weren't super expensive either, $14.00 and $11.00. Not bad. I would come back and try other sandwiches if I lived nearby.

MAINLY REVIEWING SANDWICH EXPERIENCE:…read more I'm not sure what's happening to me at these fancy places close to where I live, but this sandwich at Goudy's Deli SUCKED. Yes, I get it, you have fancy bread and meats, but when you serve customers a sandwich with A VERY-HARD-TO-BITE BREAD it makes you never want to order there again. Maybe the Lord did me a favor by making me realize how pointless it is to eat out nowadays. Ordered the Club sandwich and realized I make a WAY BETTER one at home. Hey, at least I don't serve myself a sandwich with hard ass bread. Maybe I should be thankful? Note to self: don't waste money on food that hurts your teeth and roof of your mouth. Ambience? Definitely for rich, lazy people who don't know good food. Too quiet inside. Definitely NOT for cool people who have personality and are loud. Like Italians.

There were plenty of seats and it was clean. Even the bathrooms were clean. It wasn't super busy on a weekday morning. We walked around to see what they had and it was a breakfast spot, pizza, bakery, seafood, chocolate and coffee. I wasn't sure what the other one was in the corner but it didn't look interesting (I think sandwiches). I did wish they had something Asian like a ramen spot or even a pho spot but nothing. We ordered a breakfast sandwich called the Thunderbird at Call Your Mother. It was about $11. It was made fresh and it was super duper hot that we waited for a bit for it to be warm in order to eat it. The egg was fluffy, the sausage was filling and the cheese was melty. The only complaint I had was it was a little too sweet for me. It has honey and I guess I should have asked if it could be on the side. It really needed the hot sauce and it made it better. The other item we ordered was a ham and cheese croissant at Izzio Bakery. I think that's what it's called. They heated it up for me and it was about $8 after tax and tip. It was so good warmed up. The cheese was gooey and it was the right amount of salty goodness. The hubs and I kinda fought for the last bite. Would definitely would like to try other items from there next time we are in town. We would return but wished there was a noodle spot and it would make it so much better.

Want to have an actual GOOD EXPERIENCE in a grocery store? You found it with Marcyk's. The…read moreemployees KNOW the products. They check the freshness while you are purchasing. Never have found an expired product on the shelf. I did mention to them to please consider marking cheese RAW or PASTEURIZED since they do buy a lot of craft cheeses, and now this does matter to people. They can usually tell me if it is raw or not, but hopefully they'll mark that on the package. Now do this --- GO TO THE SEAFOOD section. IN FACT, never go anywhere else to buy fish. It's FRESH, they know where the fish is coming from and its about as high a quality as you'll find. Also GREAT JOB MARCYK's finding great quality eggs to sell. Also tip my hat to the Italian tomatoe based products = you know, where TOMATOES actually taste like tomatoes. Good luck finding that with corporate america these days. I'm now a REGULAR shopper there. Worth the extra cost.

They offer a number of options. Once you order, they prepare and call your name when ready. The turkey, avocado and bacon was a real hit. Huge, fresh delicious. Love the arugula. If you are a foodie or just love to eat really well, Marczyk's should be in your list of places to visit frequently. Loved it. Also a wine store next door -- now whats not to like about that combination.
