Waited over 2 years on writing this review. Mike called us to take care of a mold damage for a client of his under his warranty when his system failed. He agreed to the price and gave us the ok to do work with the homeowner present. During the time work was being done his insurance company denied the claim and Mike said he didn't have the money to pay us and to get it from the homeowner. His insurance company denied the claim because Mike stopped paying his insurance. No attempt to make payment arrangements or make good on his word. I even offered to throw him some work so he can work it off since he did good work. No responses and no efforts made at all. We have not collected any money on the mold removal done from the client at all since our agreement was to be paid by Mike. Just do the right thing Mike and reach out to us. read more

Mike (Merica Air Conditioning Owner) was actually servicing a unit next to mine when my AC went out on a VERY HOT day. I already had calls into to other AC companies, but due to the extensive heat, they were days away from getting to me. Even though Mike was swamped too, he came and checked out our unit (which was 40 years old and I knew it was dead) and he provided a fair price for replacement AND he would work all day Sunday on it (It was Thursday when he first saw it) to get us back into AC about 2 weeks faster than anyone else would. ALSO - he truly cares and offered to go to his shop and bring back a portable unit to keep us as cool as possible (at no additional cost) until he could get there, NO ONE else offered anything like this. Mike showed up right on time on Sunday and he and his assistant worked their butts off for about 8 hours to get the entire system replaced and up and running for us. Even though he had some issues with some older wires from the prior unit, he would not leave until it was done. This guy is a Professional that has skills, but also REALLY CARES about his clients AND he is priced very competitively. I will use Mike for my AC needs going forward and suggest you at least consider him - you won't be disappointed. read more

Replaced an ancient and failing unit at my mom's ranch style house in Alpine CA just in time for this heat wave. House is freezing now! Also installed a new unit in my 750 sq ft house in Lakeside that has no attic or crawl space for ducting and had no AC previously. Difficult and custom project that other companies didn't want to do. Came out clean and works beautifully! Mike is a great guy, honest and follows through. Small owner operated business so no corporate blah blah to deal with. He services San Diego County too! A long overdue review for Mike and Merica Air. Our HVAC system started having fits shortly after moving into our home. We had a home warranty (don't waste your money on one) and they sent out multiple 1-star repair agents that did lackluster band-aid repairs. After a few days with no a/c in 100+ weather we decided to contact Mike at the recommendation of a neighbor. He scheduled us right away. Mike is, by far, one of the most comprehensive and thorough repair people I've encountered from any trade. He went over the entire system piece by piece. We knew it was bad, but what we didn't know was that some of the wiring done by one of the warranty people could have burned our house down (yikes!). We also didn't know that due to years of deferred maintenance by the previous owners, that the duct work had disintegrated and fallen victim to creatures that inhabit our rural neighborhood. Based on the age of our system and other issues we determined that a new system and duct work were in order. Mike also helped us relocate the unit further away from our bedroom window which was an added bonus. We highly recommend that you contact Mike for your HVAC concerns. Not only did we get a new system but we learned a lot and continue to have him come annually for servicing so everything stays ship shape. read more

There is never a good time for your ac system to go out, but during a heat wave it is the worst. Most of us know nothing about ac systems and a certain amount of trust is involved when you have a professional come to your home to evaluate the problem. You hope they are honest and do the right thing, I know of many situations where people are just plain ripped off. I want to share my experience on yelp because when you have a great experience too few people take the time to say thank you and also spread the word about a job well done. I cannot endorse Mike enough!. From start to finish this company has been honest, professional and did exactly what was needed. We had five companies come out to give estimates, not only was Merica air the least expensive but my husband said I like this guy the most. Mike is a great guy. He was able to come to my house after I hired another company to fix my heater. The other company took me for my money and didn't fix my heater. Mike was able to come over right away and figured out what the real problem was. He was able to fix my heater and now thanks to him, I am not going to be cold this winter. Mike with Merica Heating & Air Conditioning did a fantastic job replacing the low voltage wiring on my outside condenser unit. My pups got a hold of the wiring and disconnected the AC power. I explained to like the situation on Wednesday and he was there bright and early Saturday morning to fix the issue. Only took him 45min to an hour tops to rewire the low voltage and get the unit back running like a champ. Now my AC is blowing nice and cold and was all done under $100 bucks! Can't beat those type of pricing and great quality work done in such little time. So if you're in the Temecula area and need your AC checked out, make sure you call Mike first. Called Mike Tuesday afternoon. Really wasn't expecting a quick turn around due to the recent heat wave. He asked what the issue was. I explained the pipe coming out of my house has water coming out of it. He asked if the AC was working. I said yes ,He said he could get me in at 11am the next day. How awesome is that. He arrived on time. Cleared the primary drain. Offered some advise and suggestions. Even provided some options for the future. We bought a new house and wanted to relocate the air conditioner unit to another location. I called Mike and he gave me a very reasonable quote over the phone. He was recommended by the company that installed the air conditioning units in our development, so we decided to choose his company to do the job. When he got here and did a site survey, he realized the job was more than he expected. We had to brainstorm to come up with a solution we both agreed on then he and his partner went to work. We knew something was wrong, so we gave Michael Guddy a call. When we told him about our situation, he was very prompt to come over to diagnose the problem.
