Before surgery Dr. Thomas Merchant was very nice. It was he and his team forgetting to contact me after my surgery to have me come in to remove the cast off my arm. When I did come in he yelled at me and acted like it was my fault/responsibility to call him to tell him to take my arm out of the cast? It was so bizarre. Their team was not receptive, ever. The only person on the surgical team who is Ace's is his anesthesiologist. I gave his practice a rave review on the document they send you over and over and over until you sign it. I tried to call to cancel my appointment today and all day long and no one ever answered the phone. Now my arm is permanently bowed out and I cannot use it properly. He said that was not his fault because I should have taken my arm out of the cast earlier... yes, absolutely true. But I am not a Doctor and I cannot take a cast off on my own arm and should not without a conversation with my surgeon first, right. I asked my father-in-law how this works because he is a physician and has been for much longer the Dr. Merchant. Then here is the best part, instead of letting me know he will no longer be with the practice his assistant tells me he is retiring and I need to find a new Doctor. No one suggested any of their doctors, and I still have not seen him again since directly after my surgery and I have been in Physical Therapy for two months. He even wrote the PT document wrong and gave the physical therapist an order to work on my left arm but my surgery this time was on my right arm... This is unacceptable. read more
