After a very poor experience in dealing with one vendor that cost moths of planning and preparation for family reunion t-shirts, I came across Mike Chong, Founder of Merch Monster Screen Printing. With an extremely limited timeframe, Mike managed to work with me to order and deliver a great product! He spent a few minutes with me, in-person altering the proposed design to fit our order and working with me to identify brands that matched the quality I desired and within the proposed budget. He was extremely accommodating and had the full order shipped across county in time for our reunion. When the t-shirt vendor missed a few t-shirts in the original order, Mike seamlessly notified me and sent a subsequent package overnight, free of charge! I handle the merchandise acquisition and sales for an extremely small non-profit museum. Our budget is always - to say the *very* least - limited. My job is to find the best merchandise at the VERY best price. Merch Monster managed to get us EXACTLY what we wanted and at what amounts to a BARGAIN price. Even though they're located halfway across the country from us, they still beat our local screen-printer's prices by a SUBSTANTIAL amount, even after adding in shipping from California to Kentucky. The quality was WAY beyond what we expected (and even hoped for). The shirt colors were vibrant; the print-work top-notch; the customer service (and speedy delivery) beyond compare. I ordered shirts for our business. Did everything through email and I'm very pleased with the end results of the shirts. The quality is excellent and the job was done on time as noted on the invoice once proof was approved. The price is just right and pick up was convenient for us since it's just a 20 minute drive from our shop. I ended up reordering a month later because of adding kids sizes! I ordered some DTG printed t-shirts and asked at the time of ordering whether they would be done by the date I needed them by. They said yes. I checked in again the week I needed them done by, that Friday, and they said yes again. Then on Friday I called again and was told they weren't done and would be done by Monday. Since the event they were needed for was over by then I didn't call on Monday but finally received notification that they were ready the following Wednesday! (with no apology or explanation) I picked them up since they were paid for, although we didn't really need them anymore, and the people in the office that gave them to me didn't know anything about the botched timeline. Clearly there is a lack of communication between departments and a big communication gap with customers, resulting in a waste of time and money. read more

I am so happy I found Merch Monster. My previous experience with screen printing companies has been incredibly bad (bad printing that cracks, too thick of a print, missing artwork on prints - I can go on forever). Mike and team supplied me with high quality shirts with a nice printed logo. I made a few last second design changes, and they graciously accommodated for those requests. I wanted to make the logo look perfect, and for the few changes that I asked were executed quickly. They shipped to my address in California under a normal shipping timeline. The printed items on the shirt retained integrity after wash. If you have a decent budget for a lot of shirts and want good quality, Merch Monster is for you. Purchasing a few shirts will be expensive. I bought the cheapest shirts that they offered, and I thought that the shirts were good! read more

I paid extra for shinny ink on a large order and my order wasn't cured right. The shirts pilled after 1 to 2 washes. I was very unhappy with my order and the owner or manger didn't want to take my order back and refund me for what I had left (32 shirts). I feel as if a customer is unhappy with the product they purchase they should be able to return them without questioning. Also the ink on shirts shouldn't pill after one to two washes. I feel like Micheal the manger or owner was very rude about the situation. VERY unhappy with my experience. Wouldn't recommend this printer to anyone. read more

This was our first time ordering t-shirt printing from Merch Monster. We ordered 150 shirts, including different mens and womens shirt brands and in three different sizes. We were looking for a printer that used DTG process, environmentally responsible water-based inks, and 100% cotton t-shirts with organic cotton as an option. Mike provided excellent customer service and was very responsive and patient with our needs, as well as educating us on the printing process. He was also very knowledgeable about a wide range of t-shirt brands. The order was completed on time, shirts were very good quality, and the printed image turned out great! Thanks so much Mike! I submitted an inquiry and received a response back stating it would be 1-3 business days for them to get back to me. I had to call and ask about it i22 minutes before they closed after the 4th business day. They then told me they could not do it. Really ripped us off. Mike implied they had the 3 ply cotton face masks they had produced and ordered from an overseas manufacturer, and that he had about 12K in inventory. I told him I needed to get a fellow distributor's order filled for 10,000 pieces until our order arrived that was being held up. I told him about the pricing that the fellow distributor paid and that I was going to buy his mask to cover those since mine were another week or two out. Mike then turns around and ships mask from a supplier all 3 of us use in their packaging disclosing the real cost of the masks. Additionally, Mike had me send him shipping labels that could not be used with the supplier, who was shipping them free freight. So I emailed him shipping labels that were about $250.00+ when it was a free freight situation. Now our client who could have bought the masks from the same supplier at a much lower price is now livid that he paid more and had to pay freight because Mike was dishonest and did not bother to disclose that it was a free freight situation. Mike even emailed me a 2nd time asking for the shipping labels , then did not get them shipped coming back with an email that they only have a UPS daily pickup. When it had nothing to do with HIS pickup as they were shipped directly from our mutual mill free freight. There are so many things wrong with this. Yeah Mike you made a nice profit on me but you ruined my reputation in the process. It would not have gone to this point had you simply accepted the return of the 10,000 masks that are still in original packaging. After hanging up on me midway through the phone conversation I called our mutual supplier where he bough the masks and they expressed disappointment in his disregard for an ethical stance on the issues he caused and could not do anything without him making the call since the order was on his account and not mine. Since these guys do not have their own equipment to print with and they subcontract everything out from what he told me, it is easy for him to screen all calls, as they go direct to an answering service, so I already know I got hosed and he is not going to help fix the issue. read more

Worst experience ever!!! Expensive, Slow, and a horrible customer service experience. The owner makes you feel like you are an inconvenience to them. There are many other screen printers in the area. I will be taking my business somewhere else next time, I do NOT recommend Merch Monster to anyone. I doubt these people will be in business for very long anyways. read more

Went to Mike for a shirt order and was quoted a few different things. Went to the printer we normally use to compare pricing. Was going to go back to Merch to use them but found out there was a mistake on the quote and that they wouldn't honor it anymore. That left a sour taste in my mouth so we went with our original printer. Didn't like the work they did, so we figured we'd give Mike another chance, plus his shop is a lot closer to my work. Put an order in, and was impressed by how quickly Mike responded to emails and calls. The whole process was smooth and the quality of his work really shows. As a business owner you must be clear and transparent. That's what you should do next time and not try to pass every mistake your employees make off to your customer. I hope you did learn a valuable lesson, speak up and be clear at all times. As I mentioned to you many times, it's ok to say your uncomfortable with doing a particular job, let the client decide or simply refuse the job. Stating what could possibly happen and something else happening on top of what you mentioned is not ok. Yes you did give me a refund, I mentioned that in my post but I got the shorter end of the stick because I still had to purchase new garments even the ones your team printed the wrong color way on. I'm pretty sure most people would agree that me simply getting a refund wasn't fare because I'm still having to pay out of pocket for new garments. Lesson learned for me and anyone else reading this review, when Mike and his team makes a mistake again don't let him off the hook by giving you a refund. Make him replace your garments and reprint them the proper way. read more
