I was optimistic with this company when I first reached out this company. They were quick to respond and had decent prices. Then when I when it came around to actually ordering they kept telling me because my order was so complicated that mistakes are likely to happen... not a great thing to hear as a customer but I needed to get the orders in. They first promised a 10 day lead time which turned into 20 days. When my order finally arrived I was missing items, and one of my designs was printed backwards! Not to mention the customer service left much to be desired! They over promise and under deliver. I will not be using their services again. read more

Wanted to take my time to inspect the goods thoroughly before writing my review. First of all, would be 5 stars if not for 2 things which I will go into detail on below. But before I go into that let me start with the positive. First, they have very responsive and excellent customer service. They take the time to call and email you regularly to keep you updated on your order. Also the quality of DTG prints is the best I've seen so far. I tried a lot of DTG print services before coming to them (and DTG is a far from perfect process), but Merchmonster was able to achieve a level of detail that I didn't get with other printers, as well as very bold color saturation and ink coverage. 1/2 a star off for overlooking the polybagging of my order, so I had to travel back to drop off the stock again for them to polybag my t-shirts-- though it only took 1 more business day for them to complete the polybagging. Also, the other 1/2 star was because the size of the prints wasn't quite as big as the original samples I had asked them to copy. BUT, again it was a compromise for better quality and consistency so that has to be kept in mind. Overall, good experience and definitely would work with them again in the future!!! read more

Samuel Merritt University loves to support local businesses here in Oakland and Merch Monster is the quality of business we all should strive to be. From receiving a quote with our initial design to what our product would look like we felt very taken care of. They provide different garments we could print on depending on our budget, so they are very flexible and easy to work with. We printed almost 400 shirts through 3 different orders, initially we only had 100 in mind, but since we were so pleased by the quality, speed of production, and the entire process with them we came back for more. ***It should be noted that I don't have my merchandise as of yet. I will update as soon as I get order. Also, the owner is currently out of the country so I've only dealt with their customer service. I was incredibly disappointed with their customer service. It is not right to tell a costumer that there will be no price difference when ordering different sizes of gourmets. I specifically asked if there will be any additional charges when ordering the youth size. Their answer was, "no", yet they wanted to charge me an additional +200 charge for the having my logo fit the different sizes. The logo the made only fit the youth size, which was only 3 youth sweaters. I don't understand why it seems practical to make a template that fits the only 3 youth sweaters and not the other 60 adult sweaters!!! I also received an email stating that the first revision would be at no cost. Later on, Emily one of their customer service rep. revoked that offer because, and I quote, "The person who emailed you is in training and what she emailed you is incorrect"! To add injury to the insult, the order is going to be potentially late because of a wrong size shipment they received. At this point, I can't do anything about it because it's too late to go somewhere else. read more

After reading Merch Monster's reviews on Yelp, I was ecstatic to find a cheap, high quality local printing service. Needless to say, they did not meet those high expectations. I belong to a high school club in the area, and every year we order about 275 t-shirts for our members. Previously we had gone to CustomInk to fulfill our orders, but wanted to look for cheaper alternatives this year, and came upon MerchMonster. At first, they were extremely helpful; email replies were quick, and they checked up on our order while we were still figuring out the design. It was after the order was placed that problems began to arise. The final price quote was sent to us late; the owner had thought he had replied, but did not get back in a timely manner. We then approved the proof, sending confirmation on October 27th, but it was not until November 8th that they had said that they had started printing. They weren't ready until the 10th, well over the 8-10 days that had been projected for their complete date. We were finally able to pick up the shirts a few days after. We had to sort the shirts on our own (they hadn't separated the shirts of different sizes within the boxes), and when double checking the quantity, found that 4 shirts were the wrong size (we had 4 more larges than we ordered, and 4 less smalls) and that 12 shirts were completely left out from the order. We checked 3 times to make sure that it wasn't a counting error on our part. When we emailed them about it, Mike told us it was "difficult to understand" how they could have made a mistake on their end, and told us that if we wanted the shirts, we would have to pay for them. Since we didn't want to pay for what we already had out our money for, we did not continue with that order. We shouldn't have to pay an additional $60+ for our order to be completed. Throughout this process, we were really hoping for the best in MerchMonster, since it's understandable that small businesses work hard to stay running. However, their poor customer service, and slow correspondence were difficult to look over. While they seem like a great business with incredibly hard-working team, we'll be taking our business somewhere else in the future. read more

Also, he was very accommodating in doing weird and small quantities with different brands and colors of shirts (so I can test them out). The product is also great! Could not help me do something similar to the lady who was in front of me. Although stated other shops would do it, but you can't? Mind you I only needed 3 shirts and the person ahead requested a large order. I asked could he make an altered version, got no help. In fact the assistant had do go upstairs although he had time to talk to the white woman ahead of me in person. Another negative, I didn't receive a "hello" or "I'll be right with you" while I patiently waited for about 5-10 min. He was not flexible, just no. Didn't even offer suggestions. As a business, and me being someone who has no clue what's acceptable or not, he never offered any real help. In addition for him to insinuate that I would purposely do something illegal show his character as a person and ethic as a business. As far as their work, it looked decent which is why I stopped by. I live in fla, but own a company in Clovis ca and went to this place for my employees shirts for the business. Never will I ever do that again. The most judgmental and rude people work there and if I was the owner I'd press the reset button and clean house, but hey I'm sure the owner is the same way. Reasons for this review is because everybody was judging me and my employee for the business shirt and I guess they didn't like it or they didn't agree with what it said. I thought to give Merch Monster a try, based upon their attentiveness with a virtual hands on consultation and prices. They seemed very professional. As a designer, I have worked with screen printers before but my experience with Merch Monster fell far short of expectations. A cardinal sin, for some reason they resized my design arbitrarily, so that it (and they wouldn't give a refund) was 1/3 the actual size. On the other hand, they enlarged the logo more than the size I uploaded, so the whole design looked off. Then, it appeared they used DTG (direct to garment) instead of actual screen printing, but did not tell me they would do this, it looked like iron on transfer but again, they would not give a refund! Lastly, the shirt they printed on was a thin, flimsy fabric and again, they did not tell me these T's were lightweight. Just a word of caution, there's a lot they did that went without my consent, and it was not nice to be surprised with a sub-par product. I'm definitely wary and using other printers. read more

I work at California State University, East Bay and chose this vendor because they are 1) local and 2) cheaper than some of the other online vendors we looked at. We specifically we looking at CustomInk, but found it to be quite pricey and I was unable to feel samples of the shirts before purchasing. Merch Monster was one of the few vendors in the Bay Area who could match the quality of the art sample provided by CustomInk and I could actually go to the physical location and choose a shirt without worries. Additionally, the turnaround time was QUICK -- they finished a week and a half ahead of schedule. Finally, it was much cheaper than anything we found. Mike and the team are great communicators. They were receptive to feedback and worked with us ever so patiently in making sure our art was just the way we wanted. And the SHIRTS LOOK GREAT!!
