After a conversation, I decided to come in and get my hair cut here. I am so glad I did! I had gone to another Buffalo salon that was highly rated for curly hair and it was completely ruined. They cut it with a razor and I spent months thinking it was the end for my hair. I thought I would have to go back to straightening it as the only time it looked decent was when I straightened it. BUT I HAVE CURLY HAIR AND I WANT IT CURLY! I went to another stylist in another state and he couldn't repair the damage (after lobbing off 5" to get to the razor cut to go away - and I was trying to grow my hair long at the time but obviously, not now). He also cut it all one blunt length which does NOT work for curly hair so I looked like Selma from the Simpsons with triangle hair ANYWAY Carmen miraculously fixed the damage that BOTH stylists did - both the awful razor cut and the blunt cut. She had a real challenge ahead of her as she had so much to fix and she couldn't go much shorter, but she did it. She also took the time to explain every process she was doing and how it improves the curl, as well as to style it and explain and show every single process. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO CURLY GIRLS

It was more expensive than a lot of the average salons, and the quality of the hair cutting was lower than some of the cheap Supercuts type stuff. I know that's not a ringing endorsement and it wasn't meant to be. It's in a pretty cool Plaza though. And this location is clearly better than the one in Williamsville which didn't do a good job with my hair at all. These people did. Or at least it was OK. OK enough for an OK three star rating. But not cheap enough for the standard I got. The only reason I bump up to 4 is because the last 2 people that cut my hair here (I can't remember my visits from over a decade ago but I remember those 2) were extremely friendly and one of them I still talk to.

The entire time I was there the nail technician said no more than 10 words to me. I don't care for technicians who are super talkative but it was a very uncomfortable silence. I was asking her questions to try and strike up a conversation such as how long have you been here, are you the owner, what's a popular nail color? All which were answered in 1-3 word sentences. She sawed back and forth with the file which isn't good because that weakens the nails. My feet soaked for around 2 minutes. Usually it's at least 5-10 at other salons. Next was my gel manicure. Again sawed back and forth. There wasn't a nail soak bath or anything. Which hurt because when she did my cuticles it was very painful! She then proceeded to paint my nails after first applying a gel. I suggested I go wash my hands which she replied" if you want to". It was not a pleasant experience and would definetly not recommend or return.

Dianne is the best stylist I met in my life by far! I had lived in Taiwan for 18 years and moved…read moreand lived in Buffalo for 10+ years. I also went to Toronto and NYC several times for haircuts (tried HK and Japanese salons) but Dianne is by far the best! I have natural wavy hair but wave in a not-so-good way. My hair is thick and heavy which makes it very hard to style and to look good. All the stylists I met in the past suggested me to straighten it (which I don't want to cause it's costly and may look fake) but Dianne was the only one that didn't ask me to do so. She follows the hair flow when styling it and the end results just looked great every time. I also challenged her by straighten the top half of the hair and curl the bottom half and the result was again, perfect! It looked natural and healthy (compared to the one time in Taiwan which gave me a obvious line between straight part and wavy part). Overall, I highly recommend Dianne, especially for haircut and styling! (She also does nails but I haven't tried it.) TIP: book her at least two weeks in advance (especially for longer sessions like coloring, curling and straightening) as she is so popular!

She's great at what she does and fun to chat with! The first mani started peeling about 10 days later, not surprising with all the unpacking/moving in tasks I was doing. The 2nd mani lasted really long (well past 2 weeks) given that I was not so rough on my hands. Little pricey for a mani/pedi but there is attention to detail/good service. 5 STARS - MASSAGE: I've had a couple massages with Zoe. She is amazing! Has a proper conversation at the start of each session (doesn't cut into the massage time) to get to know you and your particular ailments/reason for seeking massage. Even recommends products and services (not specific to the studio) that might help. My husband loves going to her as well, and he's a tougher critic than me when it comes to professional massage. 3 STARS - HAIR BLOWOUT: I did this once here with Emma for a special occasion. I felt there was a bit of a communication gap on what I wanted the end product to look like. She did take the time to re-do the parts I wasn't happy with, but overall I felt like my natural curly hair, blown straight, was a bit lifeless, would have liked a bit more bounce (though not full body). I MIGHT go back again for this but would better communicate upfront (better yet show a picture of what I want).

True Beauty WNY really is a truly beautiful salon space. This salon is housed in what appears to be…read morea converted house, or perhaps it was designed as a salon all along, because the space flows as a salon so seamlessly. The parking lot has plenty of room. Then up the stairs to the main door on the side of the building, you enter at the desk area. The salon stations on the other side of the room are bright, comfortable and spacious. I was the only one in the salon during the time of my service, but would have felt comfortable here if there was another patron at another booth because they are spaced well. Past the stations is a large back room where I went for my wash. Again, area was very roomy and bright. My appointment was with Tracy, the salon owner. I was running about five minutes late due to icy roads, but Tracy was warm and friendly from the moment I came in the door. I have long, curly layered hair. Believe it or not, it is challenging to find a stylist who is good at cutting curly layers. If it isn't done right, you can very easily come out looking like Dilbert's Alice the Engineer, (look her up, not a good look on me). I had the same stylist for a couple years at JC Penney Salon, but am not comfortable being at a mall during the pandemic, so I took a chance on an appointment with Tracy. And she did not disappoint! My services took just over an hour. That is one indication it is a good haircut, when it takes longer than 10 minutes to cut, and they take the time to dry and style to make sure it shapes well. She asked a lot of questions to learn how I prefer my curls and layers to fall, and did a great job working the scissors through my multi-dimensional mane. I went in with some questions about a particular product line, and Tracy was very knowledgeable about those products. Plus the products I was looking for (DevaCurl) were B1/G1 half off, so yaye! I was going to buy four products, but unfortunately she only had three in stock, but Tracy was so kind to still give me the third product for half-off! I haven't been in a salon in a very long time, and I'm glad that I picked True Beauty WNY to get back in the salon-saddle. The space is updated, clean, and inviting. Tracy did a skilled job with my curly, layered cut. The other stylists were very kind to chat with, too. Parking was easy. Prices for services were on par with what I expected, and the sale on products was a good savings. Oh, and I made my appointment online on True Beauty's website, which was very convenient, to be able to scan all the open time slots and find something that worked best with my schedule. Thanks to True Beauty WNY and Tracy for this great experience--I will be back when it is time once again to tame the mane! :-D

I've never had a bad haircut like this because all I get are trims, but I seriously can't believe how uneven and horrible it looks.
