This operation really sucks! It is no longer affiliated with Priority Pass, but is associated with American Express Platinum Card. AmEx should reconsider any affiliation with this place. First off, they have a sign informing folks there is a 45 minute wait to be allowed inside. The employee was rude and said I could get on the wait list with my Platinum Card. This is 100% meant as a deterrent as many folks just give up and walk away. The man who was in front of me was a paying guest and they allowed him to enter. I looked inside, and there were lots of empty seats (No, they were not keeping them empty as covid protocol.) I am reasonably sure they were hoping to fill them with paying guests. OK, so I sat outside and watched a lot of people leave the lounge. And, I watched a lot of people not on the "list" walk up an be admitted. So at about 30 minutes wait, I returned and said "I am on the list." I had to present my Platinum Card again, my boarding pass and my passport. They literally "charged" American Express for my 3 hour time limited admission and I had to sign. Mind you, it is not charged to MY card - it is charged to AmEx corporate for reembursement. And so funny as they claim to no longer be affiliated with Mera Lounges, but the receipt says "Mera Business Lounge" and so does the wifi!!! Once inside, over half the lounge was empty. They have table/service for drinks and snacks. They take away trash, but I never saw them wipe or disinfect a table. I asked for bottle water, which they did not have. Really??? The serve "purified tap water." Ummm.... no thanks. I had chips and guac, which was good! That's my only positive for this place. There happened to be LOTS of families with children traveling on Sunday afternoon. Children were running and screaming. The employees did not ask parents to control their children! So much for this being called a BUSINESS lounge. It isn't. The women's bathroom is disgusting! I am not sure the answer to keeping it clean as it was attended probably every 15 minutes to half hour. The single toilet wasn't flushing. There was urine on the floor around it. The bathroom trash was overflowing with used paper towels. Ugh!!! My flight was delayed 2+ hours and I kept watching the time stamp on my admission receipt. I was pretty sure I would be ask to pay if I overstayed or asked to leave, so I left. read more

First, this review is specifically for the Mera Business Lounge in Terminal 3. There's actually a Mera Business Lounge in both Terminal 2 and 3 at CUN, but Yelp currently only lists the one in Terminal 2. I was able to use this lounge for free using my Priority Pass on 3/19/19 on my way out of Cancun. The complementary food and drink selection was actually pretty decent for a small lounge like this. The WiFi worked. The staff was friendly. The bathrooms had no lines (the same couldn't be said about the public bathrooms out in the terminal!). But on the other hand, this lounge is small but very crowded. Finding open seating for a group larger than 2 may be difficult. All in all, this lounge is great for grabbing a quick snack/drink and use the restroom before catching your flight out. I would not want to spend more than an hour here due to the overcrowding. All assuming you can get in for free with your Priority Pass. And if you don't have a Priority Pass, it's something like $35 USD per person... which would not be worth it. You'd be better off spending $35/person at a restaurant in the terminal. read more

Average lounge. First things first. I am giving information in case you are coming to this lounge for the first time. Bypass this paragraph if you are not interested lol. The lounge by gate 54 is confusing. There are two lounges down there and it caused us some confusion. Nonetheless we went to both. Started at the adjacent one next to the Mera Lounge. Showed them our AMEX but we didn't need it for that lounge. We used priority pass to get in. It was packed. The service was terrible. They should have told us that the mera lounge was right next door. I'm thinking some folks on here are reviewing that lounge as the Mera Lounge. So just and FYI Now, Mera Lounge. The bathrooms were clean. There are three stalls not one. I saw the lady go in and clean them at least 2 times during our visit. They have a cooler full of drinks you can grab yourself. It's like 7/11 lol. You grab and go. They have 3 kinds of beer to choose from, soda, milk and juice. If you would like a cocktail or wine then you can go to the bar. There is a bartender there. The food: welp the food was just ok. Chicken with veggies was the best option in my opinion. They also had Paella de mariscos. Meh. Didn't look appetizing. The snacks they had were peanuts and chips. They had very small chicken lettuce wraps. Overall the lounge was clean. I enjoyed the large couches they had to sit on. The wifi worked perfectly. You'll have to get on the wifi because all of the lounges at the terminal are underground. They got four stars because the food is ok but I think that's how the food is in most lounges. read more

Check in for the lounge was easy, but they had one espresso machine, and no separate hot water dispenser so there's usually a line for the tea/coffee. They also seat you vs. you grabbing a seat - which could be a plus or minus for you depending on your feels. The food was very simple and lower quality (bacon wasn't quite done when put out) but it wasn't a bad place to crash seeing as our gate was stone cold freezing. The bathroom however was pretty 1 star. Stinky, one stall, and what looked to be a problematic toilet. Honestly, I'd rather use the bathrooms in the terminal. Horrible service, I would give it zero stars if possible. Google shows this location opening at 6:00 AM and it didn't open until at least a half hour later at 6:30. The front desk employee didn't arrive until past 6:05 and walked by a line of people waiting to enter with just a hello and took an excessive amount of time to open and set up. After waiting 15 minutes she walked out and walked right by us again without saying a word, I had to stop her to ask how much longer until they open so we aren't standing around waiting for no reason. Was this a nice place to chill out with free Wi-Fi and light food before my flight? Yes. Would I pay $28 to come here if I didn't already have a membership? No. This is a REALLY small lounge with lots of families cramped everywhere. The left and right side are divided by a makeshift "bar" (liquor on the counter) and a tip jar. Also on the counter were a selection of cold wraps, salad, and fruit. There are dispensers of mint and pretzels. At the hot bar, two chafers featured quesadillas, rolls, and delicious mini tosadas topped with pulled pork. There is plenty of pico and pickled red onion because Mexico, duh. I'd say one of the best qualities of this lounge is the gigantic cooler stocked with plenty of coke products and beer. The restrooms are single stall, tiny, and busy. After reading great reviews of their massage chairs, I actually walked around the lounge in search of them. I think they're no longer there. Overall - come if this is included in a membership for you; don't pay the $28 if you're not a member. read more

Our trip to Playa Del Carmen included a stop at the Mera Business Lounge at Cancun International Airport. Considering the MANY low reviews, Brad, Beverly and I headed into the club with minimal expectations. All of us were happy with the food selections, as they were better than pretty much any US domestic lounge. Fun fact, I am always overly pleased when a complimentary sparkling wine is available at ANY lounge. Drinks were flowing, staff refilled our cocktails and maintained the cleanliness of the club at all times. We arrived during the "busiest" time of day (4-6PM), which wasn't all that bad and never felt overly crowded during our two hour retreat. Minus one star for the bathroom situation. Got into this business lounge for free through priority pass. It's a fairly small lounge with a bunch of couches, tables, and comfy single chairs. There are multiple outlets for charging. There's a strong wifi signal and TV's playing CNN and also displaying flight times/gate departures. They serve both hot and cold food- definitely filling enough for a good meal. On the day I went I tried their fried rice and grilled vegetables and it was surprisingly good! They also have self-serve alcohol (hard liquor, wine, and champagne) for no additional cost and a fridge of soda and beers. There is only one single bathroom stall for male and females and a separate wheelchair accessible stall. Definitely not the cleanest restroom. The staff was nice and they keep the lounge fairly clean. Definitely a good escape from the crowded, loud airport if you have priority pass but I would not pay the $38 entrance fee if not. read more

This location is small, but it has pretty good amenities, including a full bar and a hot food station. It is conveniently located by the international departure gates, so it's easily accessible when traveling back to the U.S. from Cancun, Mexico. I really put a lot of emphasis on the food offerings when reviewing airport lounges. For hot food, they had ham and cheese quesadillas, chicken fingers, and bean soup. They also offer some cold snacks like cut fruits and pastries. They had many different refreshments including sodas and juices. They also offer a full bar with many different liquors, beer and wine. If you have membership to Priority Pass, then you have access to this lounge. If you don't, it is $38 for entrance. I recommend stopping by definitely if you already have a membership. read more

At the end of my visit to beautiful Cancun, I was pleasantly surprised that there was a concierge (business) lounge so close to my departure gate. Thankfully, I am a Priority Access Member, so entry for me (and one guest) was free. They also offer access for non-members at a rate of $38 USD. Once you get checked in at the concierge desk, you enter a comfortable and spacious lounge. They offer the following complimentary items: wifi, coffee, water, alcoholic beverages, light snacks (sandwiches, nuts, cookies). They have soothing Mexican music playing in the background and at least 7 large screen tv's. They have couches, plush chairs and chaise lounges for seating. This location is also wheelchair accessible, to include the restrooms. This is a great place to come and plug in your computer, phone, etc. while enjoying tasty snacks in a relaxing atmosphere. read more

Full bar and staff is so courteous helping you with clearing plates and getting your drinks. Bar is small and there is a person assigned that you can ask for the drink you want. I was hoping there would be white wine (the only alcohol I drink lol) so i just asked for a glass of white wine. To my surprise the guy asked if I wanted Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, white Zinfandel or sparkling!! Wowww what?!? For red wine they had merlot. The only problem is they have 1 restroom for men and 1 for women and unfortunately there was no water so they were out of order :( This was an issue at the entire airport so not necessarily a lounge issue. This was the worst experience I've had in a lounge. I only bought it because there is no Star Alliance lounge at this airport. There was construction on the other side of the wall, pounding the entire time. The food was the bare minimum. Club sandwich had one slice of turkey on it. Check-in took longer than a hotel. Women's toilet was clogged. WiFi went down within 10 minutes of entering. The only thing saving it was the extremely friendly staff. I would have been better off at the Margaritaville. read more

They are not affiliated with any travel service so they require you to pay a fee to come in no matter what. They are not affiliated with delta. The food didn't seem too appetizing but I suppose it was decent and I was able to find a few things to eat. The alcohol selection was super limited and there was only one kind of red wine, and it wasn't good at all so that disappointed me. The staff was very cold and unfriendly. We didn't feel welcome or comfortable. The bathrooms were single bathrooms, one for men and one for women, and they were small, old, and not very clean. So, will I come back here? Meh, I've been in better lounges. This Mera Business one in the International Terminal of the Cancun Airport is lackluster. It opens at 7 am and is small and cramped. My guest and I got in via my Priority Pass but I'm not sure I would pay to be in it otherwise. Well technically, I paid upfront for my Priority Pass so it wasn't totally free. There is comfortable seating and there are lots of electrical sockets for you to plug into. The bathrooms are single person and not exactly clean as another reviewer has noted. The offerings for breakfast were decent. I had the scrambled eggs and sausage. The bacon looked floppy. The green juice was pretty good though. They have a Nespresso machine and a small selection of alcohol you can serve yourself. It is quieter than the actual airport but being there so early in the morning, there weren't too many people around other than the ones waiting to be let into the lounge. Great place to hangout if waiting for a flight at the airport. The terminal is incredibly hot with all of the people and the struggling AC. We tried out the lounge to get away from the heat and the noise. It's a much quieter place and the AC works very well! There's tons of comfy sofas to lounge on. They have a few small snacks like sandwiches, cookies, etc. They also have a full bar available. I would definitely recommend hanging out here if waiting for a flight! read more

The staff behind the line are rude. Especially Hugo A., who was very rude when asked a question about the espresso machine. He turned to the two other young ladies and began speaking in Spanish and continued a conversation while giggling excessively. I asked the front desk agent for the supervisor on duty. She noted that she was the supervisor and tried to hand me a sheet of blank paper from the printer to note my complaint. I noted that I'd prefer to contact the company directly once I returned home and would write a review of experience. Once Hugo found out I alerted the front desk about his behavior, Hugo then came and shoved his name badge in my face, "stating this is my name". I politely informed him that I already had his name. Out of airport lounges I've had a chance to visit globally, this is probably among the worst. Wait, it is the worst. This shouldn't even be included in Priority Pass program because it's so bad. Part I: So Crowded The place is tiny. For an airport of this size and number of clients, they built a disaster of a lounge. It's so small, you will feel more cramped here than in the hallway. Which makes me question, why even come here? Part II: Nonsense Rules If you are a Priority Pass member, they decide to impose some ridiculous rules such as not being able to enter during certain times. Only after 4:30 pm you can enter. This is just ridiculous. Either be a member in the program or not. Making silly rules designed to compensate for lounges cramped design does not help. Part III: Noisy Don't forget, with the crowd in a small space, comes a ridiculous amount of noise. Forget about relaxing...might as well just camp out by your gate. read more

Priority pass is accepted here, however, they were going to charge me 27 dollars for my guests even when I told them I didn't have the typical Priority pass offered to others since mine was from the Chase Sapphire Reserve. After calling CSR, they mentioned that lounges can charge for the guests and Chase would only refund me a max of two times in a year. There were only two types of sandwiches available. One was a triangular club sandwich with ham and cheese. There was no condiments inside so you had to squeeze it on yourself. There was also mini croissant sandwiches with ham and cheese and another with turkey and cheese. For snacks, they had celery sticks and carrot sticks with a sweet, salty and spicy powder called chamoy. They do have a small selection of hard alcohol to choose from such as El Jimador, Beefeater and such. No bottle of booze was over $20. Snacks are available such as spicy peanuts, japanese peanuts (peanuts in a crunchy shell), and pretzels as well as sandwich cookies. As for juices, they have hibiscus flower (jamaica), pineapple and orange. Coca cola and Sprite are available as well. They also have whole and 2% milk in a box. It isn't the best lounge I've been in and doesn't have any massagers, plus there's only one bathroom stall, but has slightly better seats than the plastic seats available for the public. I would only go in if it is free thru priority pass. read more

Subpar airport lounge in Terminal 2. The $36USD cost is crazy for the little that this lounge has to offer. Luckily I got in for free. You can see the wear to the furniture and the bathroom, when I visited it, was not the cleanest. They have a few snacks that include small sandwiches, pretzels and peanuts. The pretzels I tried were stale and the sandwich wasn't much better. The best thing about this place is the bottles of soda. They also have beer, juice and some liquor. Wine glasses are on the counter but I didn't see any wine available. If you can get in for free, go for it. If not, save your money. read more
