We had heard about this pop up Lobster Roll stand on the edge of Falmouth along the Woods Hole Rd…read more We found a day that they were open, when we were free on a quick trip to town this year. It's located in a parking lot area near an old pub and you can park in that lot if you stay to eat here. It is simple and plain, a small family run operation, and there is but one picnic table in a shady area with a lawn, if you want to stay and eat. Most people seemed to grab and go. We planned to stay and shared the table, first with a family visiting from VA and as they left, a local Uber Driver on a lunch break stopped by, which she said she did when she was in that part of town at lunchtime. We had casual conversations with both. The lobster was pre-measured in little bags, obviously steamed, shelled and portioned for rolls in a kitchen somewhere. The other foods offered were hot dogs for kids and andouille sausage on rolls too. There were typical canned sodas to drink and bags of chips. Cars stopped by and did literally, grab and go, causing some traffic backups and horn honking on such a busy road. It was the simplest and blandest roll of our trip, although freshly steamed lobster meat, which we cannot easily get at home in CO for such a low price. I'm not sure it is worth going out of your way for, but if you are driving by, it's a quick stop.

A food stand, we were looking for something out of the norm of the lobster rolls you get…read moreeverywhere. We appreciated the creativity of the roll, you don't find a lot of places on the cape trying to be different. We were on the cape for the summer and wanted something different. This was the 6th lobster roll we tried during our summer. This is more like a stand that you would find at a festival. I knocked a star off for the setting. I've come across a lot of these food stands all over the US, and they try the make the best of their low budget location and try to make a cute outdoor seating experience. They have one picnic bench, and the some more seating at this random building right by with rusty chairs. Some folks like us traveled an hour from another place on the cape to try this roll, us Chatham. We aren't taking it home, and had to eat it there. Wasn't any effort made to have outdoor seating. No table settings, lights, streamers nothing. Just one park bench. The roll itself is good, not the best but good and creative. It isn't spicy at all, more like a ketchup mayo on top. The celery dressing, gave it a nice crunch. The lobster is pre-measured in saran wrap. I get that for controlling your cost, it's just a cheap look to watch. Just have a scale and measure there. We got the roll pretty quickly as there wasn't much of a line on a Saturday in July at 11:30. I appreciated the creativity. I think this place could be 5 star with some tweaks on the roll and the setting. I think they could even add some more unique rolls. I want to give it a 3, but I just can't with it being a small business. I think they are on to something that people want a unique approach to a lobster roll. Worth a try, but I wouldn't stress it at its current state.
