What could be better than a lobster roll at the place where they filmed Jaws. Perfectly toasted roll. Plenty of lobster barely dressed perfectly seasoned. You get what you pay for but $3.75 for a small. Cole Slaw is a bit much.

This was my first ~authentic~ lobster roll!! It was full of fresh lobster meat, the bun was nice and toasted, and the meal came with chips. For $16.95, I think that's a great deal. On the other hand, I was at a bar earlier that day in Oak Bluffs and they had a lobster roll on the menu for $27..... yeah, no thanks. I don't know what else they put in there but I'm not going to pay that much for a lobster roll. The one from Menemsha Galley was simple, filling, and just perfect. My friend also ordered the clam chowder which was kind of on the thin/watery side but tasted great otherwise. They also have ice cream. I didn't get one myself but I saw a lot of people ordering a cone so it must be good! You order the food outside but they do have some seating in the back, they call it the porch. If you take it to go, the pick up window is right next to the ordering window. If you're staying and eating on the porch, there's a separate pick up window back there so you can wait for your food at your table instead of standing at the front. I would highly recommend this place. Menemsha public beach is within walking distance so the location is great. There's also a long dock next to the Galley where you can see the water and boats.

The view from the patio at The Galley! So beautiful

Such a great place for a grab and go lunch or eat in the back which is pretty freaking awesome! We didn't take pix of the food because we were to busy checking out the view. Clam chowder was yummy, sword fish Sandwich great. Great go to before the beach or take it with you!

Excellent lunch spot! Very kid friendly food choices, that cured my hunger today! I got a fluffernutter with a side of chips. If you are very thirsty, I recommend getting a large drink because the medium was small on a hot day. There's no official seating as it's take out, but there are spots to eat on the rocks. A nice view!

Very good! Great food, service, and views. The lobster roll was packed with meat and the chips that come with it hit the spot!

This place is located near the water so a great spot for the sunset. I mean I know we are not here for 5 * service but like the people working here were very young and very unaccommodating. They would not even give us a glass of water. Because we had an awkward interaction with the staff, I was worried they spat in our food or something. We came for the lobster roll which was ok, I do not want a huge piece of sad lettuce in my lobster roll so depends on your preference. The clam chowder was amazing and the crab cake was good too. The ice cream dip was good as well, we had chocolate but they have cherry dip as well. They have a lot of non seafood options which we did not try but if I was to return I would probably only get the clam chowder + ice cream. Theres an area to sit in the back and you can bring your own alcohol since this part of the island is dry.

This place is terrible, the staff isn't very helpful, food is overly priced and very small portions.

Very skimpy sandwiches. Practically nothing inside of them. Like eating two pieces of bread.

The restaurant was fairly crowded and our waitress seemed a bit overwhelmed. Our oysters didn't come out for half an hour, non-raw apps 45 minutes and our main courses didn't hit the table for almost 90 minutes. The oysters were fresh and we really enjoyed the summer succotash, stuffed quahogs and cornbread. For my main I had the Miso Tofu which was ok. It could have been spicier and the inclusion of corn ribs hiding in the curry felt like a mistake because I thought I had somehow found a bone in my curry. My husband liked the scallops he ordered but I had friends that didn't love the linguine and salmon. Rave reviews for the lobster dinner though. Overall it was a pretty uneven meal but the view and location are dynamite.

I'm baffled at the ratings here on Yelp for this place, it is totally undeservedly-low. It took me…read morea long time to get around to reviewing but I wanted to make sure I got it done (was too busy vacationing to do it at the time). But, wow, this place was beyond fantastic. For starters the atmosphere and location was spectacular. In fairness, Martha's Vineyard is a nice backdrop regardless, but still. Right by the water, and they have their own parking, so unlike many other fine dining on the island, you'll not have worry about a place to stick your car. We sat outside, and it was clean and comfortable. The service was great. The server had mercy on our being utter newbs to the local fishery, he had a great sense of humor. I wish I could remember his name, but they were all friendly, so maybe it doesn't matter. I got a very small portion of oysters on the half shell, just to be sure I have at least a taste. Being from north Texas, I'm not used to having them so amazingly fresh but even options of kinds of oyster! I got the spearpoint oysters because the server said they were harvested the nearest to where we sat, literally like right off the water there. And I know I will probably not live long enough to ever taste oysters as delicious as these were. They. Were. FANTASTIC! And I'm not even some sort of connoisseur of oysters, but I did grow up on the Gulf of MEXICO so I suppose I've had the best we can get from there at least. Like a nerd, I just got 3 count. But they were unforgettable. They were ice cold and the mild saltiness of the encased water tasted like it must have literally been a bit of Atlantic ocean water, but in a good way. The side condiments went with perfectly... just perfection. Oh, and we also got the appetizer cornbread alongside the oysters, and it was sweet and flawless in a hot little iron skillet, with a saucer of smooth butter. I got the Grilled Swordfish (see pics) and wifey got Lobster Cobb. Both were fresh beyond anything we may have ever had in our lives. What we noticed in terms of the use of seasoning that is so different from what we're used to is since the seafood was so fresh the use of seasoning in general is very light, and the reason becomes clear. We're used to seafood being basically overly-seasoned in order to make up for less-than-remarkable seafood, perhaps less fresh, or worse, frozen. But here? The seafood is so delicious and was swimming in the ocean so recently that there's no need for burying it under a blanket of over-compensating flavors. The fish and lobster was delicious all on it's own. Now, that's not to say they didn't masterfully prepare this, oh no, the seafood and side dishes were magnificently made. This was especially true with the crabcake wifey got (wish I got a pic first). Southern cajun style Gulf crabcakes are often so overly seasoned and salty that the crab itself ends up an afterthought. But the crabcake here was like "hello, I'm what actual crab actually tastes like, nice to finally meet you." I should have taken a minute to yell into the kitchen a huge "thank you"! I wish we had more time to linger and drink in the moment, but we sure enjoyed our visit, and would LOVE to return anytime we're ever so lucky as to be back to the island. And I cannot recommend this place enough.

This time we went with friends, which meant I got to sample a little bit of everything -- the short ribs, wok-fried lobster, and a massive slice of carrot cake that took me two days to finish at home. We also enjoy getting dressed up to come here since they've got the white tablecloths my wife looks for when she's sipping her drink -- so don't show up straight from the beach in flip-flops and a tee. The vibe is always relaxed but elevated, the food and drinks are on point, and the service never misses. That's why we keep coming back.
