We loved the food but we weren't sure if the dogs were really that good or we were just super hungry. Today, we went back for lunch. OMG. These really are the best hot dogs. What makes them so good? First of all, the snap. When you bite into a Deepwater dog you get that classic hot dog snap followed by very tasty meat inside. Second, the combinations. My wife had chili dogs (no beans) both times and loved them. I had a Reuben dog (both times) and today added a Southern dog. Both were fabulous. The Cole slaw and bbq sauce made the Southern dog sing! Finally, the service. Two different young ladies taking orders on our two visits but both were sweet, friendly and helpful. And the owner/chef takes pride in his work and was genuinely happy when we were happy. This is a fabulous little gem on the rail trail at the top of Underpass Rd. Yeah, I know, we shouldn't eat hot dogs every week but Deepwater Dogs are hard to resist.

The hot dogs are pretty good. They're nothing completely out of this world, but they're definitely worth trying. We ordered the Glendon Beach Dog, the Sonoran Dog, and the West Dennis Dog, and the Glendon Beach Dog was by far our favorite. The real star of the menu, though, was the Dirty Fries. They are absolutely gigantic and so worth the price. Honestly, for Cape Cod, the prices here are actually pretty reasonable, which I really appreciated. Another thing I really appreciated was that they accommodated us even though we showed up about 10 minutes before closing. The service was awesome, and they were still incredibly welcoming. They also have a really cute outdoor seating area that adds to the whole experience. And I have to mention the lemonade because it was SO good. It was incredibly tart, sour, and refreshing, which is exactly how I like my lemonade. I definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area or visiting the Cape. We kept coming back for a reason.

How could we get our food so fast? Well we checked our food before we were headed to the beach (luckily) and the food was cold, dry, awful and clearly precooked (on a very slow night. the French fries were not even the slightest bit warm. I ordered 2 Chili Dogs ($14) with Fries ($3) and a Cheese Pizza ($8). The food was prepared to order including the pizza which the pizza dough was hand stretched & set, topped and baked in the oven. My order was ready in about 15 minutes. The hot dogs were loaded with a meat & bean chili and melted cheese on very firm hot dogs in soft hot dog rolls. The fries were deep fried golden and standard. The pizza was quite good, which had a thick tomato sauce and ample melted cheese on a soft thin crust. Fourth of all, there is VERY large parking lot for the bicycles. Fifth and not the least, it has SURFSIDE BEACH SHACK. SURFSIDE BEACH SHACK serves burgers, smoothies, different kinds of iced teas and drinks... everything you need for a relaxing day, or end of day, at the beach. Not the cheapest, but not too bad.
