The end result is that instead of a smooth floor, we feel all of the grooves and variations in the shape/height of each board. It looks good. It's just not as uniform as we would like. I did bring up my concern and after a lot of waiting and poor communication was told they could apply another coat of finish but it would cost an additional $736 and probably not affect the result. (Communication was pretty poor throughout.) There was also a concern about whether their workers are technically employees (because they claim they are exempt from having to have Workers Comp coverage which can put property owners in jeopardy if one of their workers gets injured on site). But they did get us listed on their General Liability insurance policy for the time they were working at our property, and thankfully there were no injuries or other issues during the work.

Brad worked with us to pick the finish and did an amazing job. The floor is beautiful and the patched areas match so perfectly there's no way to tell it's been patched. Brad suggested we extend the refinishing to the kitchen area but we were planning to replace the hardwood there with tile. We should have listened to Brad. We loved how the floors turned out so much that we called him back to do the kitchen.
