I previously gave Mend 5 stars for some plumbing projects and had such a great experience I signed up for their membership program for my personal home and property I manage and I now regret that decision. My most recent experience has made me lose trust they have the best interest of their customers. This is going to be a long review but I hope my pain helps others avoid the experience I had and it's comical how bad it was. I was getting a fall furnace inspection and asked if there were any ways of making my AC less noisy. Did not have the best experience with the tech they sent out due to them trying to push additional services I kept saying I was not interested in and even tried to sell me a membership I was already part of haha WOOF and of course asked for another 5 star Google review to get their numbers up. From the proposals he sent I wanted to move forward on a repair I thought would be helpful and tried to schedule it. Did not hear back at all and I signed the proposal and proactively reached out to the main office to get it scheduled. I get a text back notifying me that the tech is no longer employed there and Chase would have to come back out to re-inspect because the guy who was fired didn't document anything properly. I had no idea who Chase is so I had to call to ask about this and turns out he's the HVAC manager. RED FLAGS ALL AROUND but I decided to give them another chance and waste more time. I texted to ask if they could give me a confirmation the morning of the re-inspection because I never got any notification and wanted to make sure I was at the property I manage for the techs. As I am literally calling the office to once again follow up and they are not sure what's going on, guess who shows up at the wrong address unexpectedly......YUP it was Mend Services! Who doesn't love an unexpected and unannounced visit to your personal home when you are supposed to be meeting 30 minutes away? Tell them of their mistake and they apologize and we agree to meet at the correct location. They did no preparation on even reviewing what their fired tech recommended me and then confirmed my suspicion that one of the fixes were unnecessary. I am upset and communicate to Chase on why I am so frustrated at this point and I do not do business in this manner and I have lost trust. He tells me he would like to earn my business back by doing a complimentary repair to make up for the time they wasted during this whole process. Chase said he would personally text me his direct cell and schedule the repair by end of day because he wanted to make it right. I am literally willing to pay for the repair I just need it done asap for my tenants who are not thrilled about this situation. I wait until end of day and don't hear anything back and crickets the next day. I call the office asking for him to reach out and still haven't heard back from him and it's been multiple days. I have now requested to cancel both memberships because I will no longer be using their services after seeing how they treat return customers. read more

I contacted Marvin Windows on their website three weeks ago, asking for a referral in Austin. My request was forwarded to Mirror Gallery and Western Pacific in Austin as suppliers of Marvin Windows. Either Mirror Gallery or Western Pacific forwarded my request to Mend Services. Manuel H. of Mend Services initiated contact with me and said they would be happy to provide me with a quote for four Marvin Essentials Windows. I eagerly awaited, yet I heard crickets. I sent email and left voicemail. Nothing. He ghosted me 2.5 weeks ago. If the job was too small, why did they bother initiating contact and getting my hopes up? I ended up signing up with a different company for Pella Architect because I couldn't find anyone willing to install Marvin Essentials. read more

MEND was recommended to me for a partial kitchen remodel. From demolition to completion everything went smoothly. The project managers were very responsive. Anytime I sent a text or email or made a phone call, I got a response back the same day. They made sure that I was able to use my kitchen while all of the remodel was going on. They made several trips to my home before starting the job to make sure all measurements were correct. The MEND service crews were very skilled, always arrived on time. and were very polite and respectful of my home. At the last minute I decided to replace kitchen faucets and a garbage disposal. Khalil and his crew did a great job. If I decide to make any future improvements to my home, I will use MEND. I highly recommend them. read more

Updated Review: August 2023: Management was very responsive to my Initial complaint and personally called me the discuss. They were quite humble about how the 'ball was dropped' and asked if there was any way they could 'mend' the relationship. I believe in 2nd chances and at the time of the call there was another plumbing related opportunity and they came through - service was outstanding. The plumber was knowledgeable, honest, respectful of my home, and very humble. The value of trust in their work ethic is invaluable. He was a great steward for Mend Services. Robert and Patrick came out ON TIME to repair an A/C system in an outbuilding. They diagnosed that a capacitor needed replacing. They also installed an "overflow" protection device to eliminate water overflowing from the unit in the attic. A year ago they rerouted some air ducts to make them fit our use of rooms. Superb results---it is so much better now. Very professional and personable, explaining what they were doing. Job completed in one hour. Thank you. read more

This is probably the first review I've ever written. I can't say enough good things about Mend. Thorough bid they stuck to, schedule was timely and followed, and the site visits were frequent and available on-call. Most of all, there was an issue with a pice of flooring protection (not a Mend issue) and they made it right, and theydidnt even balk and stressed that they would not leave of finish the job until it was perfect. Will use them for any needs I ever have with the house. read more

So happy with the job we got from Mend! We had damage to our electrical panel after a tree fell on it during recent high winds. The damage included busted out brick and mortar around the Meter Box and Power Panel. I contacted Mend via the Electrical Contractor we'd hired for the power panel install and had them complete the removal of damaged brick prior to the new panel install. Once the panel was in, we had them re-frame and recover the area with Hardy Backer. The removal of brick took less than an hour to complete and the re-frame/recover job was done in just over 2 hours. WOW!!! This is my first experience with Mend Services and it was very, very positive. We will definitely use them again. read more

We used Mend for our residential remodel in Tarrytown & had a fantastic experience from start to finish. We had them remodel our entire kitchen (including demo and carpentry/cabinet work), remodel all bathrooms (including tile work), complete exterior & interior paint (trim, doors, walls, ceilings), fabricate & install a custom facade for our fireplace, fabricate & install a custom steel front door, replace window screens on our screened in porch & install all new hardware throughout the interior & exterior of the house. Not only did Mend do the highest quality work in the timeframe they had promised, but they did the work with integrity & a positive attitude. They also were proactive in coordinating their projects with our landscape architect & designer's to ensure that the project ran smoothly from start to finish. Mike, our project manager, was always courteous, professional, communicative, proactive, and took things in stride (with a great attitude) when I added items or made changes to our project. He was extremely responsive to my emails & calls, and always seemed to be one step ahead of me in the rare event that an issue arose. He was willing to go above and beyond to ensure that we were happy with the work that they were doing and that we didn't have to take on any of the stress that can come with a big remodel project. Beyond that, I found every sub-contractor & individual that we worked with throughout our project to be great to work with. They were respectful of our home, did beautiful work & were always courteous & helpful if I had any questions. If we were to ever do another remodel in the future, I would choose Mend without a second thought! We are so happy with the entire process & the end result. I had an excellent experience with Mend Services. We needed a remodel of two guest bathrooms. Sol and his team were very professional and courteous. They did beautiful work! All the tile work, plumbing lighting, floors, and fixtures look amazing!!! The work was done on schedule, too! Sol was excellent about communicating with me regarding the work being done. Also, when an issue arose that was unrelated to the project, he promptly fixed it! All the sub contractors were very respectful of our house and did an excellent job of cleaning up each day. They always kept the worksite clean and tidy. We love our new guest bathrooms, and our guests do too! The bathrooms look fantastic and reflect high quality workmanship. We recently hired them for some exterior work, as well as some handyman services and were blown away by their detailed communication and business relationships. The lead manager on site was Tyson Hiestand. I wouldn't have chose to work with anyone else. He is very personable, pays close attention to detail and makes you feel understood. Mediocre (and this is being generous) service at a premium price is not what I was expecting. We decided to go with a 'one stop shop' like Mend to simplify how many contractors we work while being two time zones away. While installing canned lights they cut the floor trusses -- twice! They let that employee go, hired in a third party engineering company to verify their fix was sound, then patched/painted the ceiling. Prior to finishing the entire job a walkthrough was conducted via FaceTime. Our realtor offered to be at the walkthrough in-person which was a blessing - she called out how the patch/paint job clearly showed inconsistency in the ceiling (something we would never have seen on FaceTime). Mend then gave me options: either re-patch/re-paint the area where the trusses were repaired or re-float the entire ceiling. We opted for the latter. When we finally moved into the home ~ 1 week after the re-floating was finished we identified paint splatters in the wall, a slight crack in the ceiling, and additional inconsistency shades of paint on one of our walls. I spoke with the owner of the company who agreed to make it right. They agreed to come back and resolve those. I also asked them for a warranty letter for the cut trusses work they performed, which I had to repeatedly follow up on. The majority of the letter covered what the warranty does NOT cover versus what it does cover. This was Mends opportunity to earn my trust back but they failed to see that. Overall, communication was amateurish, they don't seem to be on the same page internally, and they seem to have way more business than they know what to do with so they seem to be spreading themselves thin across their jobs. Be very cautious with Mend. To Matt and Chris (electricians) - my experience with you two was rock solid. Thank you. I recommend advocating for a retrospective on our project to identify lessons learned so your brand doesn't get tainted by Mend's mediocrity. read more

Walked us through and consulted on options and completed a medium sized project in a couple days. Was very good at dealing with our pier and beam, 80 year old house and all the quirks that come with it. Mend has worked on our home and my business, SPRING FROST Boutique, and they have done EXCELLENT work. We have had two different guys from there come and remove and replace water damaged sheet rock.. I tell you, their work puts the surrounding sheet-rock to shame. Also, we have had them come and do a half day of "honey-do" projects and they were done to perfection. Never again will I let project sit in the "pending" file.. Mend is our new go-to! read more

We have used Mend Services on three projects in the last two years and they will continue to be our first choice when planning any remodel or construction project, be it large or small. Our most recent job included the installation of new flooring in two buildings and repairing/refinishing a 2500 sq. foot deck, as well as several other minor items. Tony, our Project Manager, was great at keeping us informed and on schedule. He has a great eye for detail and made sure all the subs delivered high quality work. It would be great if our review ended there, but it doesn't.. The dedication of Tony and the Mend crew was truly put to the test when a 400-year-old live oak fell on our campus and destroyed one of our buildings. Having already established a great relationship with Tony, he was the first person we called and he had a crew on our property within three hours (late on a Friday afternoon) to inspect the damage, secure the site and cover the gaping hole that had been torn in the roof. Mend was the obvious choice to rebuild the building and they handled it all, from permitting and demo to repairing the surrounding landscaping and moving all of the furniture back in to the completed building. As with any large project, there were the inevitable bumps in the road, but Tony's commitment to the project and Mend's high standards kept things moving in a positive direction and we are so happy with our beautiful new space. read more

I'm posting again after seeing a Mend truck driving around with their new slogan: "Exceptional Craftsmanship. Precision Management." From our experience, they were more like Keystone Cops! We're now 2 years after our disaster with Mend Services in building a small addition to our home (see other content posted) and still cannot get over the lack of quality that they provided - like pouring the new foundation over existing PVC irrigation lines that -obviously - we broke and water soaked the foundation of the new addition for well over a year - until we identified the problem - which they blamed on us for running the AC too cold. Overall, totally incompetent new project manager, owners blamed us and fingerpointed at the HVAC contractor, and took twice as long as estimated. Worst experience ever. They knew it was bad, as they eventually walked away from the project not even asking for some of the remaining $10,000 of the original price that was not paid, know that that would have triggered a lawsuit. They turned my wife's dream project into a fiasco. read more

I'm a Builder in the Austin TX area and we build a very refined home with extremely detailed expectations by both us and the owners. We needed to fill our stable with a few more trades and thought to give Mend a shot at meeting g those expectations. Sol managed the Mend crews flawlessly and with perfect communications. As with any project, there will always be a few unforeseens and hiccups. When we we're faced with a couple points of re-evaluation, Sol and his awesome crews reacted in a very controlled and professional manner and simply got it done...and got it done right. No corners were cut in achieving a very detailed completion of every project I threw his way. My life really is so much easier when I put the right people in to represent me and my company. Mend Services has done a number of projects at our house. The quality of their work is great. Any issues we have had are quickly resolved. My husband is an avid gardener and they are always wonderful about working around his plants and not damaging anything. They always leave the place cleaner than when they arrived and have been great about taking old usable materials to the Austin Habitat for Humanity ReStore to be reused. My only complaint is the last 2 jobs required more prodding from me to get them out to the house for a quote and to pick up some final supplies. It probably reflects how busy they are and my projects were pretty small. The projects themselves were done quickly and well. read more

My wife and I used Mend Services this summer to address some door, window and siding issues on a rental house that we own in Travis Heights based on a referral. Wesley was very detailed in his estimate and ensured that we addressed all of the issues. He helped us through the window ordering process with Grand Openings to make sure we got the correct windows. His crews showed up when promised and completed the work quickly and efficiently. We replaced four windows and a sliding door, and they look great.
