What an excellent experience! The yogurt and sorbet was great. Love the additions. The owner was so nice and accommodating. We will be back!!

I was with Auburn R (pictured) when we had a lovely froyo experience. The employee present was so accommodating! Someone raised him right!!

I really like the concept, a make your own frozen yogurt bar! They have about 16 different flavors to choose from and even more toppings. You can sample as many flavors as you like with the tiny paper sampling cups. Then when you know what you want grab a cup, put in as much (or little) as you want, add any toppings and then pay for however much it weighs. I only wanted a little bit and it was just over $2.00. I had the vanilla snow with a splash of raspberry topping and hot fudge. Wow, was it ever good!!

We came from NYC and wanted to have good frozen yogurt as a family and Menchie's delivered with flying colors. Much more flavorful than the one we are used to in UES Manhattan (16 Handles and Pinkberry) and the toppings are super fresh. Blueberries, mango, strawberries are fresh! It's also clean and they give cheerful service. It's family-owned so they really care for the relationships. Love the little party room. We will definitely be back at this refreshing yummy spot!

Love the plain tart and the new cranberry raspberry is great. Always go with fresh fruit on top!

Mmmmm, Menchie's! When the fro-yo surge kicked in back in the day (college days for me) I remember it was the place to be: girl dates, boy dates, satisfying that sweet-tooth crazing {even when you're in training season!} Menchie's is no Pinkberry [long live PINKBERRY!] but is it DEFINITELY the best of what we have in the triangle. What I like about the locations: -they're reliable: good hours and good service (usually the owner or friendly high school aged employee is on staff) -great coupon offerings (you get them in the mail, they have a rewards program and have coupons in the Go, Play, Save books). So you can combat the higher price with some super savers! -tons of variety in flavors. Although I'm usually a strictly TART lover, they do have some unique flavors. Fro yo slightly messes with my mind, some flavors are so similar to the item they're mimicking in taste, that my brain can't handle it. For example: Pineapple upside down cake, literally tasted like the cake, but fro-yo texture, that's just not right people! So, call me what you might, but I want my fro-yo to be tart and yogurtie! They also have the most INTERESTING combination twists. -LOTS of toppings. Again, personally I'm a fresh fruit fan, but if you want to go crazy, they've got you covered. As long as they've got two types of fresh fruit, I'm happy. -healthy life-style friendly. When those birthday's keep coming round, eventually you've got to take care of yourself. This is a tasty, low-calorie option (depending on what flavor you choose and toppings of course). But if you're going to treat yourself, truly treat yourself here!

Seasonal pumpkin is back! PLUS.. You can swirl it with honey graham crackers and it tastes JUST like pumpkin pie oh my oh my deliciousness!

Nothing too special about this self-serve frozen yogurt place...that being said, it's pretty difficult to stand out as a frozen yogurt store since it's such a saturated industry. On the day that my friends and I went, the flavors were very normal, which is weird because looking at the Menchie's website, there seem to be a lot of really unique flavors. Maybe we just came on a bad day. I really enjoyed the honeydew sorbet though, which was my favorite flavor during my visit. There are quite a lot of toppings, from dry toppings to fresh fruit to baked goods to syrups, so you're sure to find whatever toppings you want. The workers here also let you try as many flavors as you would like by setting out sample cups for customers to take. the store itself is very colorful, from the walls, seating, and equipment to even the spoons. It brings a bright and happy vibe but can also come off as a little childish. Menchie's is a very sold frozen yogurt store, no doubt, but I just really can't pinpoint anything that really differentiates this location from its competitors.

Tons of options!

With a boring food court on top of it, Milklab is a sweet haven found at the center of the mall building, by the central escalators. If you're riding down the escalator from the 2nd floor, you can see the big, simple "MILKLAB" sign on its roof. Unlike other Milklab locations, this is just a concession with just a side table on one end, so don't expect seats and tables you'd usually find a typical milk tea cafe. There's usually a kiosk for ordering, but the last time I went, it wasn't working, so I directly told the barista what I wanted: a large Purple Taro Latte + egg pudding topping (light ice, 75% sweetness level). I've ordered the Purple Taro Latte many times in different Milklab locations before, but this is the first time I tried it with egg pudding. I usually order it with taro pudding but after trying the brown sugar milk tea drink with egg pudding in Tiger Sugar in Cary, I decided to test it out with this sweet drink. Surprisingly, I couldn't taste the difference between the blend with the taro pudding and this one with the egg pudding. The flavor of the purple taro in the milk was so strong, it kind of masked the creaminess of the egg pudding, but it's still richer with it. Nonetheless, the barista got the blend right. I called the Purple Taro Latte the "best taro milk tea" in my review for Milklab - Cary (the first and best Milklab location), and my opinion still hasn't changed. This is not your average taro milk tea; Milklab proudly claims that they use the best ingredients such as organic milk and other premium ingredients, not the cheap powdery kind you can get from bigger milk tea franchised shops. And the Purple Taro Latte is one of the drinks that delivers that rich, organic taste. I've tried other drinks and briefly shared what I thought of them in my review for Milklab - Cary so I won't repeat them here, but what I can highlight more is Milklab's premium-looking branding with its minimal black logo on its quality cups. When you hold a Milklab drink, there's a luxurious feel, not just because of its elegant cups, but also because the ingredients inside are the best (except for its mediocre brown sugar milk tea). Overall Score: 3.9/5

The ambiance is calm and relaxing with a dent of brown sugar. The ceremonial grade Uji Matcha was the best that I've had outside of Kyoto, hands-down. While in Durham (as I shared in a previous post), we stopped by a food hall after an event, and inside we found Milk Lab. I'm usually not big on trying different teas or specialty drinks, but on this particular day my sister recommended it--and I figured, what the heck, let's give it a try. I honestly don't even remember exactly what we ordered or whether it had milk in it, but what I do remember is that it was so good. The barista was amazing--super knowledgeable, explained the drink list, and even helped us decide when we couldn't choose between two options. The drink we got was one of their recommendations, and it did not disappoint. IT WAS SO GOOD! Now here's the sad part As I was walking to the table to sit down, the drink somehow tipped over and spilled. Y'all... I don't even know what happened, but I was HEARTBROKEN. I didn't get to finish it, but from the few sips I did get, I would absolutely order it again. I'm just glad I at least managed to get a picture before the tragedy.

"Eastern-inspired ice cream and other sweets, next door to La Vaquita in Durham"…read more Stopped by this lovely shop at 7pm on a Saturday evening. The name a little hard to catch, but it's a small greenish building immediately beside La Vaquita on Chapel Hill Road (with the giant cow on the roof). The outdoor area is quite nice, with a fenced outdoor area having swings and other seating/ space for families. We were greeted quite warmly when we arrived. They had maybe ~15 flavors of ice cream or similar (will return to that in a second) as well as other sweets like baklava. But this is not your ordinary ice cream shop-- the flavors were unusual. Cucumber, date, and others caught my eye, but I didn't try those. Unlike one Yelp reviewer's comment, when we went, there was both a regular pistachio as well as a vegan pistachio option. I got something different-- I tried the falooda... a Persian inspired ice-cream-like dish with rose syrup and small cooked noodles. The texture is slightly like an italian ice, but the flavor was great. However, there's more-- on a table off to the side, there were separate lemon and cherry flavors that we were invited to try adding to the falooda. Let me tell you-- either addition turned a good dish into a heavenly dish! Sooooo good. Try it, but only if you're open to "this isn't just ice cream". There were also some wafer cookies to the side we were invited to have with our respective dishes. Seating inside was stools at benches facing a thin window bar-- outside is nicer if you have a big group and/ or if weather is nice, but it was fine. I did stop by the restroom briefly, and it was clean, too. Overall, definitely plan to come back to this eastern-inspired ice cream shop, and I encourage others to give it a try too!
