If happiness had a store front this would be it! Lots of creativity here, friendly staff and a great location. What's not to love?

Delicious! Smooth and creamy and full of flavor. Greeted when we walked in. Cute decor from little artist cover the front wall. Music is audible but not blaring so you can have a conversation. Loved the flavors that were suggested!

Came back for the taiyakis, of course! We got all the sweet options again & this time, the sleeper hit for me was actually the red bean. The buy 5, get 1 free deal is still going. You have to wait a little bit bc they're freshly made but it's worth it. Ambiance & service are good. Plenty of parking available. 10/10 would recommend this place for a sweet treat!

We had read about this little shop even though it's relatively close to our home. We knew they had teas and rolled ice cream, but what drew us in was the taiyaki (fish shaped filled pastries). We opted for the more traditional red bean filling although they offer a variety of sweet and savory fillings. They appear to be a family-run operation and were a little busy when we stopped in but that's okay, we were not in a hurry. We also got a nice matcha lemonade. This is a cute little place and we'd love to stop in again.

OMG their rolled ice cream here at Salt N Cocoa is so amazing. Friendly people who work here and run it. And it's fun to watch them make the rolled ice cream too. They freeze it, mash it, flatten it, and roll it. Worth getting some just to watch them do it. But also for the taste. I got the banana Nutella and it was mmmmmm good. With fresh banana and everything. I loved it. I love everything about this place. Thank you!

Salt N Cocoa is located alongside barber shops, nail salons, and quick tailor shops in this fairly upscale strip mall. There are a few tables on the sidewalk, but today, the seven 4-tops inside are handling things well. They make ice cream filled pastries, but I had just eaten and only wanted WiFi and coffee for some writing. The cortado was made quickly and served immediately. It was thick, frothy and tasty, and my view out the window of the parking lot was sunny and therapeutic.

    Coffee rolled ice cream

Great tasting BoBoa drinks, rolled ice cream, tayaki. Everything house made fresh upon order. Friendly staff and family business. The coffee ice cream is freshly pulled espresso shot mixed with cream. And the drinks you can replace cow milk with oat milk too. We haven't tried the soft serve but I'm sure they are good too. Many flavors to choose from.

We stopped here for dessert and was blown away by the variety of drinks and treats offered. We saw a variety of patrons here, with their kids, so we knew they were doing good business here. The menu ranges from coffee to boba tea, rolled ice cream, soft serve, and housemade fresh taiyaki. We ordered a couple drinks, an iced lavender cloud latte and dragonfruit lemonade. We also ordered a custard and Oreo cream cheese taiyaki and matcha rolled ice cream. The taiyaki was hot and fresh, soft, and the filling was not too sweet! The Oreo cream cheese tasted like a delightful Oreo truffle in a pancake. It was so good! The matcha ice cream was okay. It was very cold but the texture was a little on the flaky side. Otherwise, everything was delish and we enjoyed the vibes and variety.

Vanilla soft serve with hot fudge sauce

Fabulously smooth soft serve with hot fudge sauce was divine. This is the medium size cup, and it's not just ice cream with some fudge sauce. She layered this baby with perfect ribbons of hot fudge, taking several minutes to create an ice cream dessert you won't forget! This place is a keeper! I haven't even scratched the surface because I cannot resist the soft serve! The rolled ice cream looked worthy of a celebration! The Tatakis beg for another visit. What a fun little place! Great service, exceptional desserts.

I came here with my family to try out their rolled ice cream and taiyaki, and we were not disappointed! We ordered their mango rolled ice cream, which was tasty and had a nice smooth consistency to it. I got a taiyaki stuffed with red bean - the dough was just the right texture of crispy and chewy and the amount of filling was perfect. The space is small but clean, the service was very friendly and prompt, and parking was easy.

I was very disappointed with the service my friend and I received today. As first-time visitors, we had a few questions, but one of the owners found my inquiry about the rolled ice cream versus soft serve amusing and laughed in my face. It felt extremely rude and unprofessional. That should have been my cue to leave. After finally getting clear answers, we placed our orders--I got the Oreo cookie soft serve in a small cup. The portion of cookie topping was a joke; they used a tiny teaspoon to sprinkle powdered Oreo dust on top of me cream (pictured), yet charged an extra 75 cents. My friend had the same experience with her order. The amount of crushed cookies was nowhere near what was advertised on their menu (also pictured). Between the poor customer service and lackluster product, it was not worth the money. I definitely won't be returning.

Clean, bright interior that's really nice to sit with a group of friends or study in. They have some crayons and paper for kids to doodle on, and it's super cute that they have drawings pinned up on the wall. The lady at the register was super nice (not just to me but everyone who came in). She said welcome and hi when I came in, smiled, was attentive, and her attitude literally made my day. I ordered taiyaki (one classic red bean and another blueberry cream cheese). It was cooked really well, the dough was perfect (not raw as it can sometimes come) and filling was delicious as well (not too sweet). What a gem, will definitely be back!!

With a boring food court on top of it, Milklab is a sweet haven found at the center of the mall building, by the central escalators. If you're riding down the escalator from the 2nd floor, you can see the big, simple "MILKLAB" sign on its roof. Unlike other Milklab locations, this is just a concession with just a side table on one end, so don't expect seats and tables you'd usually find a typical milk tea cafe. There's usually a kiosk for ordering, but the last time I went, it wasn't working, so I directly told the barista what I wanted: a large Purple Taro Latte + egg pudding topping (light ice, 75% sweetness level). I've ordered the Purple Taro Latte many times in different Milklab locations before, but this is the first time I tried it with egg pudding. I usually order it with taro pudding but after trying the brown sugar milk tea drink with egg pudding in Tiger Sugar in Cary, I decided to test it out with this sweet drink. Surprisingly, I couldn't taste the difference between the blend with the taro pudding and this one with the egg pudding. The flavor of the purple taro in the milk was so strong, it kind of masked the creaminess of the egg pudding, but it's still richer with it. Nonetheless, the barista got the blend right. I called the Purple Taro Latte the "best taro milk tea" in my review for Milklab - Cary (the first and best Milklab location), and my opinion still hasn't changed. This is not your average taro milk tea; Milklab proudly claims that they use the best ingredients such as organic milk and other premium ingredients, not the cheap powdery kind you can get from bigger milk tea franchised shops. And the Purple Taro Latte is one of the drinks that delivers that rich, organic taste. I've tried other drinks and briefly shared what I thought of them in my review for Milklab - Cary so I won't repeat them here, but what I can highlight more is Milklab's premium-looking branding with its minimal black logo on its quality cups. When you hold a Milklab drink, there's a luxurious feel, not just because of its elegant cups, but also because the ingredients inside are the best (except for its mediocre brown sugar milk tea). Overall Score: 3.9/5

"Eastern-inspired ice cream and other sweets, next door to La Vaquita in Durham"…read more Stopped by this lovely shop at 7pm on a Saturday evening. The name a little hard to catch, but it's a small greenish building immediately beside La Vaquita on Chapel Hill Road (with the giant cow on the roof). The outdoor area is quite nice, with a fenced outdoor area having swings and other seating/ space for families. We were greeted quite warmly when we arrived. They had maybe ~15 flavors of ice cream or similar (will return to that in a second) as well as other sweets like baklava. But this is not your ordinary ice cream shop-- the flavors were unusual. Cucumber, date, and others caught my eye, but I didn't try those. Unlike one Yelp reviewer's comment, when we went, there was both a regular pistachio as well as a vegan pistachio option. I got something different-- I tried the falooda... a Persian inspired ice-cream-like dish with rose syrup and small cooked noodles. The texture is slightly like an italian ice, but the flavor was great. However, there's more-- on a table off to the side, there were separate lemon and cherry flavors that we were invited to try adding to the falooda. Let me tell you-- either addition turned a good dish into a heavenly dish! Sooooo good. Try it, but only if you're open to "this isn't just ice cream". There were also some wafer cookies to the side we were invited to have with our respective dishes. Seating inside was stools at benches facing a thin window bar-- outside is nicer if you have a big group and/ or if weather is nice, but it was fine. I did stop by the restroom briefly, and it was clean, too. Overall, definitely plan to come back to this eastern-inspired ice cream shop, and I encourage others to give it a try too!
