My friend and I were at the Gateway West location of this store after dinner. There were a lot of froyo flavors and a lot of toppings choices. I liked the way this store sells froyo: charging by the oz. I did not want to eat a big dessert and my serving was just around $3.25. This way, I could pay for what I wanted, not like the old way with the minimum of one scoop of ice cream. My froyo cup was not too sweet and it tasted good. The two young men who managed the store that evening were friendly. They took turns stationing at the counter. One of them always had a smile on and answered my questions patiently. I really felt welcome there. I would definitely go back the next time I am in that area. read more

Going to Menchies at The Fountains is a great idea for a weekend evening. The cold treat, The Fountains atmosphere with their tables and chairs outside is simply right. At this Menchies location they have a bigger health measures than Anywhere else. They enforce 6 feet apart followed by everyone disinfecting their hands and wearing provided disposable plastic gloves. Everyone wears their mask of course. I appreciate the health measures. Their cold treats are generic when thinking of yoghurt places but its good. They were busy but Waiting outside did not bother me at all for the line went by quick. read more

Menchie's the best place on earth! Wait I think I just stole that from Disney!!! But you get it!!!! It's amazing!!!!!!!!!! Okay so the truth is, I can come here and just taste all the flavors and be full. I know that is bad, I'm sure I've just got myself banned from this location. I will say as a good moral person, I do end up getting a bowl and putting just a little bit of my favorite yogurt and putting a whole bunch of fruits on top. Well, well, well, if it isn't me eating frozen yogurt on a cold night. But, we had just finished dinner next door, so we were looking for a treat. Yes, of course I was wearing a jacket, what do you think I am, a monster? OK, I will admit, I wanted to try the eggnog yogurt, which they were advertising in my email. I figured, why not, we're here, we've walked from home, I am going to warm up at some point. Or freeze trying. I gotta say, this was about 6pm or later, it was already dark and chilly. We walked in. There were 3 staff behind the register (imagine 3 people keeping so close to fit into a small area, definitely NOT 6 ft apart). Since we had obviously missed the sign at the entrance, we were admonished and told to use the gloves by the sign. We both returned to the sign, got the gloves and moved to the yogurt selection. I went straight for the eggnog and pulled on the goodness releasing lever. Um...something liquidy came out, and plopped into my cup like a thawed out piece of ice-cream. I raised my eyebrow and moved on to the cheesecake yogurt. Luckily, this was just the right consistency. I added some cheesecake bits and went to the register. Intimidated by our presence, the first register acted up just as we were about to pay and went into a seizure of flashing blue lights. Meh. we had to move to the other register, and start the process all over again. The taste was ok, but not as expected. The consistency of the eggnog yogurt, pretty bad considering the time of the day. I can't imagine they had just refilled it and that's why, but you can try and convince me I am wrong. Overall, it was just soft ice cream, paid $9 for the both of us and will try it again during the summer, when I don't have to wear a jacket. Or, anything at all, really. Not really. The staff seemed bored, cold, crowded and they really didn't want to be there. I am still unsure whether the gloves were there because they were convenient for the staff so they did not have to clean the levers too much, or just because they really wanted us to feel uncomfortable doing anything with those plastic things that make your hands sweat on. About 15 different flavored a froyo sit awaiting your cup ... Choose your flavor (or 4 in my case) pill the lever and fillerup! Move on down the line to be faced with the toughest choices of all! Toppings. It's not hard to choose which toppings, as they have literally EVERYTHING! But the hard part is fitting them all into your cup! At least that's the challenge I was faced with lol. The restaurant went well above and beyond to fix the issue we had so I have revised my rating. I was genuinely impressed with how their manager responded and I appreciated their efforts. My wife and I were hoping to enjoy a nice yogurt for our anniversary earlier this week. Unfortunately we were really let down by the staff working there on Monday. It looked like they had forgotten to setup their cash drawers when they opened and they didn't realize this until we stepped up with our yogurts. The gentleman who tried to ring us up couldn't figure out what was wrong so he ran to the back after barely muttering something about a problem with the registers. After a while I went to the employee's only door and knocked until a different employee finally came to the door and assured me that the registers would be up and running in "three minutes". Well 5+ minutes later my wife was fed up with waiting, our yogurt had spent 15 min or so melting on the counter and I couldn't get anyone's attention to ask if they might comp us our partially melted yogurt. After waiting another few minutes and knocking on the employee door repeatedly we just weren't in the mood for yogurt any more so we abandoned our yogurt creations at the unmanned counter. I couldn't quite believe that no employee could be bothered to man the store while they were dealing with the register issues. I was very disappointed by the treatment we received and I was quite frankly shocked that both employees who were working needed to be in the back ignoring customers in order to fix their register issues. It will be a while before we go back to this Menchie's since they also had about 1/3 of their machines out of order so the selection was significantly less fun than it usually is. Nice and friendly staff with about 10 different flavors and flavors is the month. There aren't a lot of tables indoors though, maybe about 4 tables so if you have a big group, it might be a tight squeeze. There are tables outside but right now, it's pretty cold! We LOVE Menchie's. Their original tart is to die for as well as most of their other seasonal flavors. We were so surprised by the friendliness of the staff here and the directions for their new COVID guidelines. There was a promotion for a free waffle bowl of any choice which my husband enjoyed (it's where they get the weight for it, too). We both got the original tart along with some other flavors as usual. The topping area was clean and organized. When we sat down to try the flavors...they just seemed kind of bland. The original tart was, sadly, NOT tart in any way. Just tasted like yogurt gone really bad. I don't know. Maybe it was an off day. But I don't remember the tart tasting this terribly before. How bad is it to want to eat Menchie's everyday? This place is very unique and it is impossible to find something you don't like. They're frozen yogurt flavors are always changing which keeps me wanting to try something new every time. My favorite of all is chocolate covered banana. However their flavors aren't typically simple "chocolate" or "strawberry". They vary from honeydew melon, ice cream sandwich, cheesecake, and even churro flavored! Then you still have a variety of topping options from fresh fruit to baked items like brownies, to candy bars like kit kat pieces and granola. At the end you pay for the product by weight, which most of the time it hardly exceeds $7, depending on how much you pile on. However what I love most about Menchie's is their customer service. Every emote greets you with genuine enthusiasm and they are very helpful. They always ask if it's your first time at Menchie's and if it is they will walk you through the process. I think the Fountains at Farah was in dire need of a dessert place and now there's one perfect for Promenade walks. The flavor selection is excellent, my current favorite is Dulce de Leche, that one doesn't even need toppings (but I'm still going to add some!), and the new Berry Bunch is quite yummy as well. Of course you can't go wrong with the classics, and they got plenty of those. Who doesn't like Menchie's!? Its self-serve so basically your responsible for your own bad flavor combinations. TIP- keep the fruits with the fruits and the sweets with the sweets. I.E. Don't mix pineapple with Oreo cookie. At least that's what I tell my kids. Service is great and since price is based on weight it's very affordable and also up to you. it's like they have a tube connected to random buttholes. the ice cream that comes out looks, feels, and tastes like toilet poop. also the scale for the ice cream has to be off, mine rang in at $10.04 and there is no way it weighed that much. spoons are made for children 1-4 years old. took me a year to eat it, even though i took only four bites and threw the middle school science experiment in the dumpster. service was okay, ice cream or yogurt or whatever was trash. wouldn't recommend and instead go to baskin robbins or cold stone for some frozen dessert. almost slipped on the wet floor on the way out. probably wouldn't hurt to put a sign there. read more

I am weary of these yogurt and ice cream places where you're charged by weight of your cup because they can be quite expensive...Was pleasantly surprised here! Two cups, filled with ice cream and toppings came in around $6.25. I would have liked to see a little more selection of flavored yogurt but there were enough to be satisfied and the toppings bar was top notch. We were offered to choose our own color spoon (which you can reuse at home for kids; it's not super flimsy) and to sign up for their rewards program. As we entered, we were greeted with a hearty welcome by the two young lads that manned the counter. I imagine if the Vikings had frozen yogurt dispensaries, they too would've been hailed such as we. He took my hand and introduced us to the sampling shot glasses (paper cups) that my youngest man-cub would soon abuse at every dispenser of yogurt. After only one sample, the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup yogurt, I had found my champion. I filled my wax lined, paper chalice and proceeded to the wall of yogurt accessories. I peppered the frozen landscape with chopped peanuts, followed by a conservative bombardment of chopped Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and topped it all with a caramel syrup money shot. It was bliss. For the next ten minutes or so, I experienced multiple mouth-gasms. Even now as I reminisce in the afterglow of those moments I'm getting mouth-wood.
