My daughter is super creative and always coming up with neat projects. She's shopped here before and I came along this time. If you're looking to upgrade your backyard, your patio or your deck they are ready for you with a nice selection of pretty much everything you're looking for. And there's so much for gardeners which is cool to me because I'm trying to become one. Menards is a really big store, well designed and bright and most likely has what you came here looking for. menards.com Aug 19, 2025 I will NEVER buy lumber from them again! I built a large deck, ordered all the lumber online. I had some unused material left over and when returning it this is where it all went bad. I loaded the lumber up and went to the Springfield, MO store where I bought it. Waited in line at the service desk and they filled out a big form of the items, them someone had to go to my truck and inventory the items, then I went to the lumber yard gate where the gate attendant inventoried it again. I was told to put the lumber back in its spot and come back to the gate for more paperwork. I got the paperwork the service desk wanted, waited in line again and when I got up there they told me I did not have all the correct paperwork and they also needed see my receipts again. So I walked back out to my truck, got the receipts, went back in and guess what ... waited in line again. She processed the returns and told me a portion was goin to be store credit. Lets say I "strongly objected" so she called a manger to the desk after about 5 minutes a manager showed up and "educated" her on that this refund did not require store credit. I finally received the refund. All of this took 45 minutes, it felt like they threw any and all obstacles in my path to not return the lumber. This will not be an issue as like I began this with I will NEVER buy lumber from them again. read more

My husband was in Menards Friday 8/9, 2024. When he told and employee he needed 12 bags of cement they told him to go the back of the store to get and pay for it there. He gets there they guy is closing his register and locking the side door. It is 3: 15 pm. My husband tells him what he wants and the guy points to a cart and points to the cement and says you have to pay upfront. The employee didn't even offer to help him. He goes up front to the same cashier that told him he had to pay in the back, and he tells her they say to pay her, so he does. He rolls the cart out to the truck, and while doing so notices 4 young men who work there gathering carts, they all walk right past him and he is loading the cement by himself. Oh did I mention my husband is a senior citizen. RESPECT would be nice!! We will never ever spend anymore money or visit any Menards again. read more

New customer to Menards, specifically Joplin, Mo. It's about a hour away from my home. On Oct 12, 2024 decided to try out Menards. I was remodeling bathroom and discussed this with employee. The employee showed me an open box item that was for sale (about $340) and told me if I bought it and it wouldn't work, then I could return the product. Nov 5th, 2024 the contractor took the item back for return and Menards management refused to return it per there store policy. The manager discussed with the employee about what he said and all agrees that he said I could return it. The contractor attempted to leave product and was forced to carry it out. The product was left in parking lot on their property. I disputed the charge on the same of return. Credit card company, after reviewing my evidence, and contacting Menards rules in my favor on Dec 31, 2025 and I was credited the amount back onto card. Fast forward to May 2025, I get a letter from debt collector for full amount plus interest for product I could not use and did not possess I've written the debt collector (who works for Menards and has no interest for the consumer). Finally, reached out to Menards Corp customer service and explained the situation. Their response was sorry they could not help and that return policy was printed on receipt. Basically, employee said I could return it and if I would have been told no return, I would not have bought it. Not to mention if I would have read receipt then it would have been too late per their store policy to return it. Never been turned over to collection agency, 50 years old and have a credit score over 800. I'm responsible and readily take responsibility for MY mistakes. However, this on Menards and they need to stand behind their employee and his mistake. read more

I had never been in a Menards until today at which point I got to go three times in one day. Woof! This is what happens when a Home Depot, a grocery store and a Wal-Mart get together after a few too many drinks, go home and put on some smooth jazz. You get a lot of everything but not always what you want. The prices are good, but the store layout is not very intuitive. For example, duct tape is in the paint department. The parking lot is huge, and there are plenty of employees in the store working on the floor to answer questions, but only one register was open during two of my three visits today. Like any new store or business, if I moved to Springfield and started shopping here regularly I am sure I would pick up the flow of this place quickly. As a fIrst timer who made multiple visits in one day I was impressed with everything they had to offer, yet left confused by the lack of cohesion throughout. read more

good store has a lot to look at and the employees are great. But the front in manager truly sucks. they had a paint spill that she knew about and i found it by driving in it. raining a little i did not see the paint spill till I left the store. i went next door to a car wash to get the car cleaned off then called Menards front desk manager and she goes do you have pictures well no it was raining and wanted to get it washed off asap. she had no common sense or ideal of customer service even after saying that already knew of the paint spill but did nothing to prevent someone driving thru it like me read more

I had hip replacement and I am using a cane to walk, wanted to go to Mernards with my husband, needed a wheelchair or electric cart, they have neither! Asked for one they said they are out of service! Is this some kind of discriminatory action against handicap people? This is not acceptable for them to treat handicap people this way! They also act like they are irritated that you even need assistance! So here I sit in the car because I can't make the trek through the store! Shame on you Springfield Mo Mernards!!!! read more

Finally Menards has arrived to Springfield. This store is gigantic, clean and bright! You can hanging out here all day if you are homeowner!! Anything you can think of for your house, they have it... even dry groceries! The prices are very competitive to others big hardware store especially if you get the rebate! read more

I will never come back to Menards ever again. I am 100% disabled combat wounded vet missing a left long and I have a hard time breathing... I cannot wear the mask due to medical issues... I was harassed by 7 different employees in 15 minutes and threatened to be kicked out of the store if I did not wear a mask... I did keep more than 6 feet away from everybody... But the staff was within 3 feet harassing me. I feel I may have grounds for harassment and proceed with the lawsuit of discrimination due to my medical disability... Not to mention these idiots do not give a military discount like Lowe's and Home Depot... I have never been harassed like I have today. Was here 4 September at 1:30 in the afternoon.. read more

I haven't been to a Menards since I lived in Omaha. That was over twenty years ago. That store has military surplus in addition to everything else. This one is much nicer. It's a very clean store and they have just about anything you could possibly ever want. I intend to be a regular whenever feasible. read more

I purchased some material online needed for door panels. The website said they would be delivered to the store on Wednesday. Friday came and still no delivery. We spoke to everyone and nobody could say when it would be delivered. I had a deadline looming and the materials aren't here. I did what I could and purchased elsewhere, thinking that Menards wouldn't have a problem with cancelling my order. Boy was I wrong! The manager insisted on charging me a 25% restocking fee and wouldn't think of waiving the packing fees. He was unsympathetic to our situation and wouldn't hear our argument. When we asked where we could complain, he told us, but also mentioned they go directly to him. I won't be ordering anything from Menards if I have a deadline to meet. They don't live up to their own schedules and expect the customer to endure the hardships caused by their shortcomings. I had to work the weekend to catch up on the job, and then I can either get charged a restocking fee or own expensive plywood I don't need. Merry Christmas to me! read more

They have all kinds of good stuff. They have a lot of stuff you don't expect to see, and a lot of stuff you didn't know you wanted until you saw it. They also have quite a few things that are way beyond the price they should be (at least that's my opinion). You have the option of getting a little rebate every time you buy something, but it takes many months to get it. Sometimes it's not worth the stamp. Decide for yourself. read more

If you haven't been to Menards, it's like Walmart has a child with Lowe's. While they have a little bit of everything, I wouldn't consider it a "one stop shop." It's one of those places where you can find what you need, but not exactly what you want. I definitely see it putting a hurting on a few stores around the area, because of their variety, but I really don't know about their slogan "save big money." Everything looked about the same price as any other store. But if you're needing a bag of chips, a ladder, a sink, and a work-belt then this is probably the place to go first. read more

Zero stars! simply due to a snot nose kid in O.P.D. smart alec who makes sure to get the last word. I drove over 50 miles fie a client to get just 7 pieces of backsplash for a client to be told i couldnt get it without an order #. I was onlytold earlier i could pick it up at the paint desk. I bought a barlett pear tree from them on march 6 of 2021. After having the tree planted the guy told me that the roots didn't look so well. The tree was fixing to break bud but, when I took a closer look at it , I realized they had sold me tree that was covered in fire blight. I immediately reached out to the store for a refund. They refused. They said exchange or store credit only. The tree was Not SUITABLE for sell. It had in fact been left over from the last year shipment and was not properly protected over the winter. I do agree the warranty is a good warranty BUT, that warranty is for SUITABLE FOR SALE. And after speaking to an employee of the store he informed me that he never saw it leaf out the year before which is why it never sold. After hearing that ,I reached out to the nursery and they confirmed they had NOT shipped to this store this year. As a matter of fact they say it may be a two year old tree and, confirmed it would not of survived the winter in the shipping pot. The tree tried to bloom it put out 2dead black leafs. All the buds turned black and in the pictures you will see purple spots on the leader and branches of the tree. These are blight spots. Proof the tree was sick at sale and had no chance of survival is the ooze from the main leader, which it is too early for blight to flow unless it already exists in the tree. I have spent over 5,000.00 at this store and, I can assure you, I will not spend another penny UNLESS, I am refunded my money. Had the tree been healthy at the time of sell, I would gladly take the credit. BUT being able to sale a dead tree and not have to return the money ,in my opinion is stealing. read more

I was at this Menards on 3/27/21. The parking lot was full and buzzing with people and activity. I entered without a mask. Due to a medical exemption I am not required to wear one according to our local ordinance. While there I was not asked to wear a mask including at checkout. My experience at the same Menards on 3/31/21 was not the same. This visit was at 7:00 pm and there were only about 25 vehicles in the parking lot. Right after entry the person at the service desk told me I had to wear a mask. I let her know I had a medical exemption and continued on to get the hose clamps I needed. I did not encounter any other customers on my way to get the two items. An employee asked if I was finding everything okay and appeared to be interested in helping but then it all changed. She told me I had to wear a mask. Once again I noted my medical exemption. Before I knew it I had four employees around me demanding I wear a mask. Once again I stated the medical exemption and she said "the ordinance didn't matter. It was private property and the store policy was to wear a mask." This is discrimination. We only want people without medical conditions. I mean if the ordinance didn't matter to them because it was private property then having handicap parking should be disregarded the same. Or having Braille on signs and keypads. I found the two hose clamps I needed and said I was going to checkout and exit the store. She said "no, you aren't without a mask because I'll tell them not to check you out". I passed the sixth employee on my way to the checkout. He also told me to wear a mask and I gave him the same response. I think it is fair to note that the employee that was posing as helpful actually had a new mask in her hand but not once was it offered because she was to high on her power trip. As I approached the checkout I encountered the first customers during my entire visit. I pulled my mask out of my pocket and checked out. If I had not been swarmed by employees I would have only been within six feet of one person during this visit and that was the cashier. Saturday they were too busy to be mask police but Wednesday there were too many employees with nothing better to than harass one of the handful of customers. Also fair to note...if the ordinance doesn't matter the the two boys I saw with their father should have been harassed and treated with the same contempt. read more

I stopped by Menard's today to purchase roughly $500 of items I needed. Since I always take my dog to Home Depot and Lowe's, I thought I'd take her to Menard's. Not only were we not welcome, we were asked to leave so I went to Home Depot where my dog got a treat and a lot of friendly petting. Guess Menard's is not in my future. I ordered 10 bags of gravel online and went to pick it up. I went where I was told to go and no one was there to help me. I went in and there were 3 employees just standing there doing nothing. I asked them where to go to get my gravel and they told me to turn right and wait there. Still no one around to help me. I drive over to where someone was working with another customer and asked where to go. He said he would go get someone. I heard another customer say "it would be nice to get some help over here we're having to load this ourselves". I was there waiting for 30 minutes. I finally gave up and went back in to tell them I am cancelling my order and will go to Lowe's. read more

Do yourself a favor and don't shop this store! Not unless you need dog food, bird seed, or something readily available on the shelf. There's a better option on the east side of town. Went to get some shutters in early July - not in stock so had to special order. No big deal; waited patiently until I received an email in mid-August that the shutters had arrived. Went to pick up (45 minute drive, one-way) and guess what? the receiving dept couldn't find my order. Said they'd check into it but today received a robo-notice that they've reordered the shutters - estimated ship date is LATE SEPTEMBER - will be lucky to see them this year - if at all! No "sorry", no explanation, no accommodation. Have spent thousands this year with the East Springfield store with no problems - will NEVER shop at West Springfield again. read more

We were at Menards on University in Springfield the last day of their grand opening. I came with a list and was overwhelmed with the size of the store. I thought I would not be able to find all the items I wanted until a sweet girl named Cheyann - came to my rescue - She showed me all over the store and went over my list with me. Customer service is awful. 1 lane open 21 people in line. Employees just hanging around talking. After 10 minutes they opened 2 lanes. It was a Saturday, they should have been better staffed. I ran in for 4 items to make it a quick trip. So I spent about 20 minutes in line. Lowe's never had this issue. read more

Walked in about 2 pm. Decided to do New Year's renovations - fancy shower for bathroom, new microwave. We found what we sort of wanted in a shower system - $465. We needed a slightly different one, no one there to ask. We walk by employees - no one looks at us. Like, deliberately avoids eye contact. Okay...weird. Walked back to microwaves. Found one we liked, 1800 watts. Again - no help. But saw lots of employees scuttling through the store. Don't shop here. They don't want your money. read more

Very dissatisfied with their rebate program. We should have received 1500.00 rebate but only got 15.00! The store said they couldn't do anything about it and we would have to take it up with an outside source's website. Couldn't speak with a live person and have to wait to see if they will even respond at all! Menards should have handled this matter for us. I Called the Menards store on Eastgate about a sectional they had on sale. I talked to a lady that I thought she said was Matt (I repeated Matt back to her & she said yes)and she put me on hold while she went to look to see how many they had in stock. She said they only had the floor model and would give it to me at a lower cost. I agreed with her on the price and went to the store to pay for it. When I arrived I waited about 8 minutes while Dave was on the phone. I told him the situation and he told me that they don't sell floor models at a discounted price and that they had 3 new ones in the back. I told him that was not what Matt told me. He told me that there was no Matt that works here in a hateful tone. He asked what time I called & I looked it up on my phone and gave him the time. I asked to talk to a manager and he waved one over. He found a note there on the desk where Max (which was the Matt I thought I heard) had quoted me the price. He got his calculator out and told me that they could not sell it to me that that price and quoted me a higher price. I told the manager that I just drove 45 minutes to make the deal we discussed on the phone and you are not going to honor it? He told me, "No!" I told him that I would just take me business else where, where they stand behind their word. He just shrugged his shoulders. Pretty poor business ethics...conflicting business procedures & not honoring what they say! I will not shop Menards again! read more
