This is my second favorite hardware store in Omaha. They have an amazing selection, far beyond what I generally need, and are nearby. Prices are reasonable, competing with other large chain hardware stores. Service is good. Not up to the par O would appreciate in all sections. Some sections lack an expert. While I understand the difficulty in finding such people, my favorite hardware store has such and has good prices. Parking is huge. Likely to visit again. read more

My husband and I ordered a storm door on July 19th its now September and we still don't have a door spoke with the GM on several times no sympathy no apologies this is what good service looks like then I don't need it..we've spent alot time and money with the particular location of Dodge in Omaha. I've been here quite a few times, and I always have a great experience! There is a huge variety of items, and things are clearly organized and easy to look through. There is always PLENTY of staff walking around asking if you need assistance, which is appreciated. One thing I wish the store had was larger frames of their flooring displayed in a way you can flip through like the large hanging carpets. I've seen this at other stores, and Menards has the best prices on laminate flooring, I just wish I could see more than one panel at a time! Overall, this is a great store, and does have better prices than most of their competitors on almost all of the items I've looked into! read more

I like coming here for stuff for my pets. I have some anxiety and it's better for me to go here than to somewhere like Walmart or Home Depot because it's easier to manage and less crowded. Menards still delivers good value on items, great selections everywhere in every category, is consistently well managed with ONE BIG EXCEPTION. I do not like the new conveyor checkout, but I digress. As the years go by, they only have a core of maybe 6 - 7 older, helpful, KNOWLEGEABLE mature people on the floor to assist customers find things, make suggestions, and be a QUALITY store assistant and do it in a respectful, pleasant and competent manner. Today, they're desperate to get bodies in there to work as the older folks retire, and they're hiring these Gen whatever's who've no concept of customer service, personal verbal interactions with the customer and how to communicate outside of their cell phone, know nothing about almost everything, and are basically pointing you towards what they guess you are looking for, kinda, ... sorta. I drive right by a Home Depot 3 blocks from me to drive 8 miles to get to the 120th Menards. I can talk to the same kind of staff there and save me a 16 mile round trip expense and time to Menards. I've spent 10's of thousands of dollars in this store, and last trip in 6-27-2025 I said a cheerful, happy HELLO to a Gen staff person in the plumbing dept, and his eyes glazed over and he stared into the distance, and I said HELLO AGAIN, ... and I never did get a simple "hi" or smile in return. C'mon man. It's like this all over the store, sans a few bright spots where someone actually TRIES to help you, expert on their products or not. They're actually TRYING to help and act adult. They are going to need to really boost the pay for the mature folks to work there to retain and hire them, or they are heading for rough seas. read more

We asked the employee in the lighting area to help us with a light . He was friendly and nice. We showed him the one we wanted he scanned the tag and showed one. We asked if it was the one with the silver trim he said yes. We got home and put it up and it wasn't the one we wanted it was all white. Come to menards for mulch, and lighting, and stay for the unique and quirky gifts, toys, and fun items near the register. If you're a child of the 1990s like me, you know the Menards jingle, and maybe even used to think the word was kind of funny. Well, now as an adult, I enjoy long leisurely strolls through Menards with my family while we look at lighting, bathroom sinks, tile, and toys! This time of year their floor is sprawling with holiday items like trees, lights, and toys. We've outfitted most of our house with lights from Menards, as well as traditional things like ceiling fans and faucets. It's a big store. Usually some is around to help, and they're not commission based so its more fun than other big box stores. My only gripe is the one way in one way out, so no matter what you're getting your steps in. read more

This morning I regretfully went to this location to purchase a cabinet. Upon approaching the back of the store I located the cabinet help desk. At which time an older white male employee was behind the computer. I stood there patiently for a few seconds waiting for him to look up from his screen. This employee then asked me "Do you have question?" In a very condescending tone and was further clearly irritated when I asked him a question about the cabinets. To begin with I wouldn't be standing there waiting to be acknowledged if I didn't have a question. This store has a number of bad employees walking around with attitudes. Great prices. Not very knowledgeable employees though, and you might wander the store trying to find what you need. I've been to menards a lot. Before and during the Corona scare of 2020. Overall I give Menards a 3.7 outta 5. Most employees are helpful. Some have no clue what they are talking about and try to guess. Most are honest. The prices are fairly competitive with Lowe's and Home Depot. The tool selection is daily large but I'm not a fan of the quality. The lumber is usually better, IMO. My issue with Menards is the bathrooms. Now I understand that during this crisis we are all doing our part to get by. But Menards, you've taken it to an extreme. The bathrooms are average for a store like this, but the Toilet paper! Wow. I'm not even sure what to say. The TP was so thin it took me 10 minutes to get what I needed. It tore every sheet. It was so thin it was see through!!! Menards, it looks like you took the time to separate a 2 ply, and have now twice as much. Most would accept this, I won't. I'll use twice as much and maybe a bit more just to spite you. I don't expect to hear from anyone from menards headquarters. I'm sure they really don't care what people think because they make all kinds of money. Today we went to return a package of hinges because of menards quality control. There were 2 different kinds of hinges in the package. We had bought eighty dollars worth of stuff with the hinges. We wrote a check for our purchases. Now they have electronic checking. So you know they withdrew money from our account quickly. But 6 days after the purchase they wanted to give us store credit. No it was three dollars. We didn't want store credit. Then the manager looked at our receipt and saw we had a rebate we used on that purchase and said we wouldn't get money back anyway because of the rebate. Now we paid fifty two dollars a long with the rebate. So how do they know we didn't put the rebate towards the two dog beds we bought. The store policy is they can't refund more from a check until seven days. We were told we could write out a suggestion and the big shot would read it. We'll I'm sure the big shot doesn't care about little people who has to count all their penny's. It was ridiculous to think menards cares about their customers. Menard's carries the Sprecher line of sodas, to which this time of year they carry the red apple variety. It is most tasty, which is why I continue to come here to get it. Menard's is also a good home improvement store for pretty much most everything I need, although those needs are usually small. I will keep coming back because I like their store. read more

The employees were extremely rude. We spent an hour looking for a round table and couldn't find one. We were then accused of messing around because we were wandering around the store without buying something (because we couldn't find what we needed) and also accused us of harassing an employee after a two sentence conversation asking where we could find a table. The staff is great. But this whole 11% off thing is a load of bull. My husband bought an item because he was supposed to get an 11% rebate. The rebate was a coupon for the amount of that 11% off our next purchase. In other words we don't get the rebate unless we spend it in their store. I will spend this money in the store but this will be the last time I step foot in Menards. There was no disclaimer that said the rebate would be credit for store purchase. Shopped at Menards this week to take advantage of their paper sack sale. Filled our sack with about 6 items and headed to the check out. My husband reminded me that we have bad service every time we come here. So our cashier Lori (long gray hair) was standing at the end of her check stand so we went to her. I said hello and I swear she grunted at me. My husband wasn't sure if he should take the things out of the sack or not and she literally snatched it out of his hands. She was rude throughout the whole transaction and just confirmed we will be staying with Lowe's or Home Depot from now on. No discount is worth that treatment! read more

I would give these guys zero stars if I could right now. I used to be loyal to Menards but they have lost is in the area of quality and customer service. Their materials and Mastercraft products are no longer competitive to others by far. Doors aren't straight at all. Deck materials are not straight at all. Spend more time exchanging or returning than any savings is worth. I purchased 17 finished doors, not primed but finished slab doors. They came unwrapped and scuffed to where I could only accept half the when the other new other half came again unwrapped, I had to reject half of those yet when I bought primed doors they came wrapped with edge protection and all.. where is the common sense gone with this company. Even the check out gal asked why my painted door wasn't wrapped when looking at a primed door fully wrapped. Just went through an extensive remodel where admittedly was spread across multiple stored such as home depot however I did not have ANY issues with any other store except Menards so going forward I will be exclusively going to the other store and not menards for any future projects. If you want cheap port quality materials then Menards is your best bet but the saving won't save you headaches afterwards fixing or returning everything. Bring back the quality and maybe you'll get some loyalty back. ​ read more

If I'm not mistaken, Menards was the first ginormous big box home improvement store to come to Omaha. You know, before Lowe's and Home Depot started popping up everywhere. Like its competitors, the store is so large it's hard to navigate if you're unacquainted with the layout, let alone find an employee to help point you in the right direction. And after you've walked through the entire store looking for cement mixer (or whatever) to no avail, when you DO finally find someone to help you, they point you towards the one tiny little corner of the store you didn't already check out. Figures. That all said, Menards has everything you'd ever need for practically any reason. From mattresses to lumber to tools to lighting fixtures to sinks and toilets to plants -- even a surprisingly stocked section of dry good groceries. Grab a cart and do a couple laps around the store the next time you need a workout. read more

I'm really not all that fond of Menards. My roommates shop there all the time, and it is convenient, since it's next door to Costco. But there's just something about the chain I just don't care for. Maybe it's that they try to sell too much variety, and thus don't carry enough in the way of hardware, which is really what a HARDWARE STORE is supposed to be about. We bought a refrigerator. I transported it myself. When we got it home we saw a number of problems with it. It looked like somewhere along the line it received some rough treatment. I used to be far more of a Menards fan than I now am. I don't specifically dislike this store, though I most certainly DO dislike how the Menards corporation now does business. It has become the Walmart of the home improvement world. Some good products, but cheap crap everywhere. But more than that, I thoroughly despise their deceptive advertising. They'll advertise a product with a huge rebate, but they don't have THAT product. They have one identical to it that does NOT qualify for a rebate. Menards has seen better days. Be very cautious when shopping at this location! I came into this location on March 24th to make a return for a faucet that I couldn't use. I went to customer service to make the return and the guy was very rude and told me he could return $84.14 back to my card or a in store credit which I took the in-store credit because I just needed a different faucet that need to be a little more taller. I went to the aisle where the faucets were at but they were out of stock, so I went back to the guy at the customer service counter and asked the guy since you don't have the size I'm look for can you just return it back to my card so I can purchase it from a different store. The gentleman called his manager over to override something on the system. After the manager left the guy said I would have to purchase another faucet and return it right away to get the credit from the voucher? I told him that don't make any sense on why do I have to purchase it again just to get my $84.14 back? At this point I'm like whatever I'll just wait to see if I get the credit? It's April 4th and I still don't have my $84.14 in my account. The guy in customer service STOLE my voucher and never gave me a credit back. I am very disappointed at this location since I just purchased my house and I come here all the time for all of my home improvements. Extremely poor customer service! read more

I just returned from a trip to purchase a new pair of floor gratings. Exact same item, same manufacturer, offered in bronze color at nearly twice the price of white. That's outrageous. I don't care what fancy name you put on it, it's just paint. To make matters worse, the only response I could get from multiple employees was "Well, I don't set the prices." I put three stars on this because I'm normally pretty happy to deal with them. For this visit and this situation, one star would be generous. read more

I was on my way to my grandson's baseball game. I had 40minutes to spare. I stopped in at this Menards to pick up a packet of plastic vegetable markers ie . green pepper, celebrity tomato. After looking in aisles for 10-15minutes I asked a young man that works there where they would be. His response was "I have no idea." He made no attempt to try to find out. As I was leaving the store two middle aged Menard's workers could see I was upset. They asked me what I was looking for? I told them about my initial request. The one said they are by the checkout in the garden center. I decided to make a last attempt. I went to the check out. There were people in line, so i waited until the cashier, Laura, was done with her customer. I asked Laura where they were? She looked at me said, "they are not here" in an ugly tone. I told her that I was told they were, and that had spent a long time looking for them. She said in a haughty tone "they aren't here, that's why you didn't find them." She treated me like I was a doddering senile old man! I told her I didn't appreciate her attitude. She just shrugged her shoulders. When I said "maybe the store manager needs to know how you treat customers?" She gave me a sneering look. I went to the Courtesy desk and asked to talk to the store manager. She said which manager? I didn't know there were many store managers. She paged someone. When he came up he was a young man in his early 20's. I told him about my experience. He didn't say I will talk to Laura or even offer an apology. When I said "customers should not be treated this way." His response was "it is difficult to get good workers, that is why there are so many hiring signs up!" So I guess Menard's is making no attempt to try and improve customer service. For me, shopping at Menards is comparable to a three year old being let loose in a candy store. I get lost. I buy all this cool useless stuff I don't need because the prices and rebates are awesome. The layout of the store navigates you into a easy buying frenzy that makes you lose all self control, the staff always seem to know their stuff, and they conveniently allow you to go get your car and load your haul in it at their loading bays right out front. Why would you buy a new water heater? Because it's on sale! Need a new lawn mower? I don't even have a yard but what the heck! My kids don't need toys. They need a new chain saw to cut down that old rotting tree in the local park(For safety reasons). Go Home depot or Lowes. Don't go menards. I ordered online to store pick up. 30minutes after i made order, i found another deal and contacted them to cancel the order. They said they can not cancel the order and charged 10% of restock fee. I felt upset but anyway i went to store to cancel the order. Employee, staci said i should pay 10% of restock fee and $1.70 processing fee. When i asked what process fee is, she said it is the fee to put the item back to shelf back which is restock fee. I pointed out it is same as restock fee, she showed bad attitude and rolling the eyes. They do business by stealing the money from customer and even quality of item is sucks. Sometimes, it is cheap compared with Home depot or Lowes, but you will get whatever you paid with even worse customer service. Menards has been a favorite store of mine for years. Great selection and price, of course every one loves the 11% rebates. The store is huge and it has taken me years to "get comfortable" with finding all the many things I have needed to restore my older home. Not being a contractor I have still managed to spend 20 to 30 K annually at this my favorite store. However, the returns department is not as easy to work with as Home Depot . This is especially true of restock charges on "special orders", Home Depot has never charged a restock fee to me for anything. After waiting for an order of marble tile (that never came) , and after several conversations it was discovered that my order of marble was "back ordered". This is the kiss of death to my project. "Jeff" in the floor department was easy to work with, but when I went to get a credit on the much needed (but hopelessly back ordered) marble tile, I was told there would be a "restock fee" Explaining again, that I really need the marble , but, it is "back ordered", and I never had it, it was never in the store, no one has even seen the marble, she still insisted that I pay a restock fee. Of course, this was corrected and I did get my money back. BUT ,they need better trained people (perhaps smarter people ) in their returns department. A similar thing had happened once before, and I ignored it. The next stop was Home Depot, and hopefully they will get the product to us in time to keep the project moving. So far every order with Home Depot has come in on time as promised. AND I have never had anything but a smile when I return something. I like Menards but it has a serious identity crisis. Is it a hardware store? An appliance store? A grocery store or clothing store? The answer is yes to all in varying degrees. I like the regular sales but it can be hard to determine what the original price was. As far as service, they are a little hit and miss. The folks in the aisles are generally more happy and helpful than the check out line. I think a little training on how to be less grumpy would be helpful. I also hate the way you have to buy your wood and then drive around to the warehouse and hunt for it then to have your vehicle searched as you exit. Seriously annoying. However it is fun to waste an hour or so looking at everything and we do buy some products here especially when on sale. read more

I was looking for a kitchen island cart, and menards had the one I wanted in stock at the store. I checked with two other companies that sold carts, but I had to order it on line. I'm not a big fan of ordering items on line because I want to actually see in person what I'm getting, no credit card info out there, and no porch pirates.
