My team is working on this major show at the convention center nearby and we were short materials, this location had everything that we needed and ordered our stuff for pickup online with no issues. BEWARE if you are considering buying the Home Depot extended warranty program by Allstate. I had a bad experience with a different extended warranty company and wanted to simply read the FINE PRINT real deal HD extended warranty contract, not the nice looking OVERVIEWS that HD offers on the sites. I found and followed 3, yes 3 --- different methods to CLICK on a HD link to VIEW that contract, and.............. none did anything! Nothing. Hmmmmmmm So my next call was to Allstate themselves to inquire and request a copy emailed to me OR a working link to simply read it online. A nice gent got on the phone and basically said HE WAS NOT ALLOWED to send that out until I BOUGHT the warranty!! Wut? That's $150 for a freezer, a lot of money for an old Marine living on nothing and single. But I can't even READ the FINE PRINT real contract first so I don't have to go through cancelling and trying to get a refund? Does that sound like they have something to hide, to you? So.......... my next call was to my HD very close to me. I got a female asst mgr being later in the afternoon, and tell her what I'm looking for and does she have anything? She says NO, but says she'll ask the big boss the following day -- AND CALL ME BACK. I never even got the respect of a callback after spending many many thousands over the years at HD, living in an old house always needing repairs. And they are 6 blocks from me. My alert above is NOT about the Home Depot store itself as much as letting you know something may be lurking in their EXTENDED WARRANTY PROGRAM! They sure do NOT want you/me/us to read it. Why? I did by the way, think it was classless of the asst mgr to not call back, and my guess is she looked into nothing, hung up from our call and forgot about it. Why bother, she likely thought. It's just a customer and I get paid anyway. This is how business today is done most places. I miss the days when people cared about doing a good job. read more

I am only giving a five star review, because Lindsay J helped me out and she was the most kind and knowledgeable employee that I encountered in the eight people I met on a recent shopping experience to Home Depot to make keys. She went out of her way to help me was the only one who knew what the digital key was and how to get it and what I had to do none of the other employees that helped me new anything and one even wanted me just to use the key machine. Home Depot could use some help with their training on their employees, but Lindsey was the bomb. read more

My dad and I came here to get painting supplies. He was trying to find a good paint brush for trim, so we went up to the trio of employees that were at the paint desk to ask them about one of the specific brushes. Now English is not my dad's first language, and I wasn't close enough to hear what he exactly asked. They gave him a look like he was dumb and were laughing at him as soon as he walked away, well within earshot. It was incredibly rude, and they were well aware that we could hear them laughing. All the other employees we interacted with were kind and helpful, so I'll give two stars. I'm just disappointed that my dad was treated that way, especially because he is a very loyal Home Depot customer and goes there for all his renovation needs with his business. read more

I deal with the Pro Desk a lot and have had nothing but great experiences with the staff. Typically it's Joel, Judy and, Karen. They have been very helpful and I see them helping customers and fellow employees regularly. Every employee that I have dealt with at this location has always been helpful. Even the rental department is friendly and well maintained. The parking lot is always clean and carts are readily available at various locations inside. This is my favorite Home Depot and I use them all as a contractor. read more

I decided to try my hand at growing fruits and vegetables. I had ordered some cloth growing bags from Amazon and just needed some help getting started (how much potting soil and how many plants). First person in gardening area only could tell me where the strawberries were. Another person was moving the big plant carts around and said he didn't work there (fair enough. He wasn't wearing orange. Probably had some reason for moving them around). Third employee had lumber in a cart and didn't know gardening. Again, understandable...but he didn't summon anyone who could help. Fourth person supposedly knows plants but wouldn't help me. He basically told me to look it up myself since I have a smart phone. Well sometimes I get overwhelmed and want to get help in person! I went elsewhere for better treatment. (Usually I have no problem at Home Depot so please keep in mind that I'm rating on one particular incident. Probably be back...but not in the gardening section unless I know exactly what I need) read more

Eli was great in the customer service section, one item I ordered for pickup was wrong but he corrected it right away. I've ordered about $1,300 worth of Milwaukee tools the past couple days, and the other day when picking up the skill saw, I got home, noticed the box was very obviously opened before and poorly resealed and the skill saw already had wood shavings on it so it was a used item and not brand new. Extremely disappointed with that. $250 for a tool that wasn't even brand new. read more

Easy to get all lost in here. Although their indoor lumberyard is pretty impressive, not much else sticks out in my mind at this location. While Home Depot and Lowe's (and other stores) have a lot of the same products, HD has offers plenty of exclusives that make it worth a visit, even if it's a few minutes further away. Still, good luck getting anyone to help you unless you wave them down. Still kind of boggles my mind that employees at these giant stores don't offer better costumer service. How is anyone supposed to find x product on their own, especially if it's a little odd? My guess is the employees don't know where most of the stuff in the store is, either. read more

The store on L St. In Omaha had aisles blocked off, merchandise in the aisles and abandoned carts, making it hard to maneuver. An employee asked if I was finding what I needed and I said it would help if the carts weren't in the way. He agreed with me and continued on his way. I thought he'd move them for me, but no. Lowes is a much better shopping experience. I won't be back. read more

The Home Depot on 72nd St, is closest to our house, and I go here often (sometimes more than once a day...not on purpose and much to the amusement of my wife!). The store is usually well stocked, and the staff helpful. We have purchased a few bigger ticket items here, including a riding lawn mower and have had a good experience. I do miss the days of having a local lumberyard and hardware store, but for the basic weekend warrior, they fit the bill... read more

Bad experience. Ordered something, got something different. Took forever. And it was not easy to get it right.

I purchased a 6' emerald green arbvorvitae tree from Home Depot on 6/6/20. It had a root ball which was as hard as cement. It died almost immediately. Now I am told I have to dig it up and return it although I have a receipt and photos. To dig it up and return it is going to be a huge effort. I feel the receipt and photo of the tree should suffice and my card should be credited. I am not happy. read more

Although I try not to let my wife know about it, I have been known to fix things to help combat the entropy that affects my 93 year-old house. One major perk is that some of the employees are actually REAL electricians, plumbers, and contractors, so they have experience and advice to share. Some of the employees are also old enough to have taught Thomas Edison in grammar school and also like to give advice. The main limitation of the Depot is that if you need a good selection of raw materials for a project, it's not a lumber yard. If you grew up in a small town like I did, you fondly remember your local lumber yard and that your Dad could have re-built your entire home with only the contents of Aisles 3 and 4. Also, if your spouse watches HGTV and wants everything to be real fancy and expensive, the Depot might not have everything she thinks your home needs. For me, that's actually a plus. read more

I'm consistently having terrible experiences at this location. I'm in the middle of an renovation. This is my 3rd time shopping here today. First two were fine there were multiple clerks who offered help during the checkout process. The third time was a bit different. All my purchases were made with a Home Depot gift card. Upon the last purchase rather than getting a clerk asking if I needed help, it was before you can be allowed to complete your transaction, I needed to provide my name. After the thought of being treated like a criminal, I simply replied no, due to the fact I've never had to provide a name while using a gift card before. The manager said it's there policy due to the area this location is in, and the reps who assisted me earlier that day will be reprimanded. Someone needs a lesson in customer service. read more

Clean store, nice friendly employees. The tool rental is great! I rent sanding equipment from them all the time and it's clean and fully servest. The rental equipment is like bran new. I asked an employee about some siding for my house and the employee showed me some that was better, cheaper, and way cooler then what I was thinking about! Its a Great store! read more

My latest experience with Home Depot was very nice. The kid wanted a plant for Mother's day, and they were right there. The only problem I had was that they had some sort of mulch or sod or something that they had stored in the parking lot that caused a backup. read more

Shawn in the building material/wood section was the absolute worst to deal with. I am putting up a privacy fence at my home and I came to Home Depot because it's close to my house and I haven't had any problems there before. I went in on a Sunday to purchase every item I needed for the fence and only took the posts. Majority of them were rotten so we picked through them, not a big deal. We go back a week later to get the 2x4s, these were in worst shape than the posts. I asked to get the pallet behind it out and he insisted they'd be the same. I know and he knows he was just being to lazy to get them out. He says " it's number 2, they're all going to be like that" which is NOT true as we have used #2 on another fence. I went to Lowes this morning bought ALL #2 spent $50 more than I would have at Home Depot but I'd do it over in a heart beat. The customer service there was amazing. To say the least I will be closing my Home Depot card and strictly going to Lowes from now on. read more
