Save big money at Menards. And I do, I never leave this store without buying something. They even have a great food and candy area. Today I bought a great looking flannel shirt, better than Macys!

"Save big money at Menards!" This location in Morton Grove is MASSIVE - they have such a large selection of appliances, bath, building materials, doors/windows/millwork items, electrical tools, flooring and rug options, hardware, kitchen/outdoors sets, heating and cooling items, lighting and ceiling fans, paint, plumbing, storage and organizational tools, window treatments, and even necessities for pets/wildlife! Staff here are plentiful, and when we asked where some particular items were located, the employee insisted in taking us directly to the aisle - great service! Prices are comparable, if not competitive, and all the items were neatly organized and well-arranged. One of the cashiers noticed we were looking to check-out, and she speedily rung us up. Plenty of parking in their large lot. +extensive selection +fast and efficient staff +large parking lot for vehicles

This is my local Menards store and use to be the top dog in the Menards chains, but recently Menards has been opening these gigantic 2 story mega stores that provide far more selections like the stores in Melrose Park and now the one up in Vernon Hills. I have noticed that besides losing ground to the new mega stores there seems to be a change in the operation of this particular location (maybe a change in management?) You save big money. You save big money When you shop Menards. Ehhh it depends on what you buy. You gotta know your prices, but I bought my kitchen cabinets here when I remodeled my kitchen. I also got my flooring & accent tiles for a horizontal band for my bathroom at Menards. Like the others they have an assortment of home appliances like refrigerators, stoves, washers & dryers. Besides the usual things people buy at the big box home improvement stores Menards for has an assortment of items that appeal to a the whole family. They have a small assortment of clothes, foods, even dvds. Before COVID people would come in w/their families as they seem to have something for everyone's interests.

    Not bad for lighting.

Having come in here on a weekly basis, this rating is being bumped up automatically to 5 stars!!! The folks here are friendly and helpful, they have everything that you may need for the house. Whatever the size of your project, they have your needs here. Their beef jerky selection is noteworthy, as well as their lighting fixtures and light bulbs. I also like the stuff here for my hobbies like flowers and vegetables for the garden and bird seed and bird houses. I guess my only recommendation at this time would be for them to enforce the limited number of items for the Express line. If you're allowing someone to check out 30 items, why have the Express line signage at all?!? Anyway, the store is a nice size and the parking lot is big but it can get busy after 10:30 am. I could go to Lowe's or Home Depot but I like this location because of the friendly service.

They refuse to provide water for their employees in winter. This is a violation of not only OSHA standards but also shows no respect for human dignity.

Cool place but I often find that the employees will do everything possible to avoid actually working.

I first went to Menards and then Home Depot and they all said the same thing - we have the screen materials and tool kit but we don't do that type of work. In fact, Menards specifically mentioned Skokie Ace. So I came in and we got what I would consider a fair estimate for 8 of my screens. Now - could I have done this job myself? Of course, and I say that without flinching. The question was, do I sacrifice a Saturday afternoon to replace all of these screens? No, because I could be Yelping. I decided to pay for this work to buy some time. You may disagree but my Cost vs. Benefits analysis led to drop off all of my screens. I opted for aluminum this time and they were all expertly replaced in a matter of days. Excellent customer service by Carlos of Skokie Ace. I received two messages informing me to pick up my screens. In the words of Ace Frehley - your customer service has Shocked Me!!!

It has a lot of the typical household items like bathroom fixtures and that type of stuff. Find things also for businesses. The prices are higher than other places but it's better to buy locally. A lot of history about it. It's an important part of Rogers Park and recognizable for the big clock with the wrenches. This business has been around over 100 years. Pretty impressive. While there's lots of the typical products like nuts and bolts, there's also the power tool and equipment rentals. If needing something like that and you aren't planning on using it again after that then this is where to go. The store can be hard to find things but the staff is friendly and helpful. For a locally owned hardware store it has pretty good finds. It's located at the intersection in the name of course so that helps a lot. There's all the usual household items as well as power equipment and rentals.

The slogans and jingles are memorable, and all is good and fine until you need to visit one. Let me guess, it goes something like this: You walk in looking for an item and an associate who can help you. You see someone in paint, but know they can't leave their post, so you continue looking. Aha! A person! Oh wait, that's a cardboard cutout. (This actually happened to me recently at a big box.) Finally, you find someone, and they tell you where to find the item in question. Only, the entire endeavor took way too long, meanwhile, the house is a mess while you're gallivanting the aisles. Enter Clark Devon Hardware. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted and offered assistance. Even if you are just browsing, others will ask you along the way. If you do ask for help, you will either be taken to the item or shown to a person who can help (as in, 'ask this person right over here,' who sees and waves). The team at Clark Devon is knowledgeable, kind, and no nonsense. They know you have things to do and places to be. They will be happy to help you and send you on your merry way. Clark Devon may not be the prettiest hardware store, and perhaps the big boxes may even have slightly cheaper prices (this is unconfirmed). However, it is my go-to for all hardware and home improvement needs, not only out of a desire to support a locally owned business, but because customer service counts for something too. If I am to offer one smidgen of feedback, it's that I wish they were open until later in the evening. For sometimes you come back from work and discover the closet rod has snapped in two, and you need parts to replace and fix.
