The selection at Menards is incredible. I've bought materials for various projects mainly carpet tiles, masonry paint, and garden supplies. The staff seem knowledgeable atleast the ones I've worked with. It's true you can save big money at Menards, but I will say to be thorough with mailing in the rebates or else you aren't getting your full value. Forgetting to mail in your rebates is like having a giftcard lost in a drawers somewhere... the company holds onto it. read more

I had a few pieces I needed to complete a ceiling project. This was awhile back but just getting around to giving a rating. I phoned the store and they did have what I needed in stock. Drove from an hour north of the area and Christina and Tavish had already pulled my items from stock and had them sitting on a contractor's cart waiting for me. This was so helpful. The customer service is horrible! They don't explain anything when you're ordering from the building department. They want you to sign a contract without explaining the terms are on a paper you have to take to a register. Several cashiers have zero clue what to do without asking a manager. And after interacting with 4 different employees in different departments and levels, they all were rude and had condescending attitudes. We're so disappointed because we fell in love with an exterior door there but we will be taking our business elsewhere. So so so disappointing. I had never been in here before, but they have pretty much everything you could possibly want. I was here for a toilet brush and cleaner. My life is glamorous. They also have some cool Halloween decor. I freaked OUT when I walked past the werewolf displayed. It is life size and APPARENTLY motion-activated, because it growled at me and moved when I walked by. TERRIFYING! There was also a Pennywise next to it, and that one looked like it potentially was about to move to, and fortunately he did *not* move or talk or laugh or whatever it is he does, otherwise I may have flat-out screamed like a girl. `I was at the Massillon store 6-17, and I want to thank the young men that work in the pick up area in the back of the store. They were very helpful and polite and very kind. It has been a couple of years since I was treated so kind in that store. I have been shopping at Menards for a few years now and I'm surprised that I haven't written a review yet. Well, here goes. This store puts Lowe's and Home Depot to shame in terms of service and selection. Menards has a southern feel to it and their staff is friendly. I took 5 gallons of Lowe's paint to my dad's cabin to paint with. We stopped at Menards, bought more paint, and asked if they'd shake our existing 5 gallon bucket. They were happy to shake our paint! In addition to paint, I've bought light fixtures, tools, hardware, and even a couple food items. They have a small selection of food! They have gardening equipment, lots of plants, more than you would expect from a big box hardware store. Add in the friendly service and that explains why this place is packed all the time. I'm guessing people opt for Menards over Lowe's and Home Depot, where available. Prices are reasonable and the store is huge. I'll be back again and again. read more

Last week I visited this store for the first time and I was with a friend who is 86 years old and he was looking for an outdoor light. We were waited on by Rachael Smith and when she noticed the man I was with has difficulty walking, she took excellent care of him. She took the time to determine his needs (sometimes it takes him awhile to articulate his words), she was patient with his slowness, and she made suggestions and truly listened to his feedback. I found this type of excellent customer service with every person I spoke with (and we were there for over an hour). I truly recommend this store for your hardware needs. read more

Wanted to buy a bathtub there. Had to order online. When I came, I picked it up and brought it home. When I opened the box, there were defects in it. Took it back. They said they would exchange it for another. But I insisted on opening the box to be sure there were no defects on it. There were 3 others there are the store, and they all had the same defect. When we looked at the store display model, it had no defects, but they wouldn't sell us the display model. So we got our money back, MINUS the rebate we had mailed in already. But when we got the rebate in the mail, it was only a store voucher. So we HAVE to spend our rebate at the store. Not happy. So we had to get a tub from another store. read more

I have always enjoyed my shopping experience at Menards, but today they have truly disappointed me. Two of my arborvitae's did not make it through the winter, so I had planned on returning them prior to the warranty expiration in April. HOWEVER, when there is a stay at home order due to a major pandemic and people are only to leave for essential needs...I didn't view the death of my arborvitae's as essential! I understand the one year return policy, yet I figured they would have at least extended it due the fact that the state, let alone pretty much the country shut down. I could write a book on the bad experiences we have repeatedly experienced in this store. The past 3 years we have purchased 2 homes and tried to get some of our remodeling supplies from here. This place is not set up for the typical contractor or homeowner that needs to spend big bucks on big supplies. The people that work here are ALWAYS useless and too busy standing around chatting to help you. The aisles for flooring and tile etc (major home improvement) are way too narrow and nobody there to ask questions. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE! Forget about asking an employee in the cabinet department for help. Again....too busy playing around to help you. We tried to purchase a register cover for the floor. They charge way more than the price stated on the sales floor so we had someone go check it. It turns out that they had stocked it in the wrong place and therefore the price on the sign was for the incorrect item. The employee got an attitude when we told them it was their fault and should honor the price on the sign. That's just one of the example of why we will not ever return. We've had enough! We keep going back to Lowe's and Home Depot and spending thousands of dollars because they want our business and Menard's does not. I guess they are more focused on selling the customer a bag of candy or some food item. It's just weird! Very negative experience. read more

If you hate shopping at Lowe's & Home Deport but need to make some home improvements then Menards is somewhat of a spin on both stores but a lot cheaper (at least their toilets & sinks are). Unfortunately, my main purpose for shopping here was in hopes of finding a nice glass shower door, I have to say that I felt their bathroom shower options are lacking...not much of a selection & some of the doors seemed cheaply made. They also had a very small section when it came to vessel sinks but did offer a lot of beautiful drop sinks & vanity tops. My company is very impatient so I didn't get to explore the entire store but would be willing to go back & give them a second chance. read more

We have been shopping the Menards in Massillon for quite some time now. It's so much better than Home Depot and Lowes. John Menard did it right when he started his stores. He had women in mind. I love that they have cards, books, a health and beauty section, the holiday décor selections and especially the little grocery section. We recently got milk (in date a week out) for $.96 a gallon and a dozen eggs (in date more than a month out) for $.35 ! I also like the huge laundry and cleaning products section and the women's clothing too. We are doing a huge remodeling project and practically live at Menards. Their %11 rebates are SUPER especially when you're spending the kind of money we have. We have had super service by ALL employees. I apologize I can't remember all their names but we have had excellent service from Miranda with kitchen cabinets, Leslie R. with paint and ceilings, Adam in electrical and plumbing and Brett an Asst. General Manager. When we walk in they know us ! I also like when they call for help for a particular dept. they call their customers "guests" So when I get bored looking at plumbing, electrical, lumber and drywall I just run off to the women's depts. The entire lumber area is devoid of help in the isles when I need help with a product. After several minutes I found someone who was busy with other customers, finally freed up to tell me she couldn't help, sent me to a desk where 2 people were working with 2 other customers. I asked one of them to radio for help but got nothing. First woman then went for help after I told her I made no progress. Several minutes later I heard a call for help go over the p.a. After nothing and 15 minutes in the store I had to call the store on my cell to ask for a manager. Finally connected, he finally arrived but without the product knowledge I needed and without enough sincere remorse at my lack of help. I told him service has always been terrible and walked out. I was giving Menards a try after 3 years since their products are so cheap and poorly made I always had to return them. There return Policy is good because their products are terrible. Anything more sophisticated than a rock or a piece of wood and I wouldn't shop here. They expected me to dig up an outdoor lighting low voltage system after 8 months because half the lights were out and somehow that's okay to do and just return them. I had to pay an electrician to install it because their connectors were so cheap none of them work. In their eyes somehow that's okay to just return it. Happily both Home Depot and Lowe's have the product I need and I'll be traveling in that direction during the week. read more

So Menard's really doesn't care about our health, they are on a power trip! How do I know this, you ask? Menard's was only place I found an item for my dog so I had to buy it there. I don't wear a mask for medical reasons. Menard's wouldn't check me out without a mask. I went & got on. Standing in the cashier's lane, I had to use my inhaler and had to pull the mask off my nose & mouth so I could breath. This put the mask across my chin with my nose & mouth clearly visible. I was checked out. So Menard's isn't worried about our health, they are on a power trip! I went to Menards Massillon this afternoon and I can say the service I received from Sale Associate Clint was outstanding he was extremely knowledgeable about the flooring we were looking at and not only that when I explained that I needed a new faucet insert as the water was dripping in the bathroom he took the time to show us were the parts were and he made sure we bought the right insert. my wife and I spent the night at a bed and breakfast over in Bucyrus and decided to take the long way home. We came across Menards and have never been to one before being from the Cleveland area. We were quite impressed by the variety of merchandise. And the cleanliness and how courteous the employees are. We decided to do a little Christmas shopping while there. My daughter's recently moved into their first apartment and we thought it would be helpful to buy them some basic tools ( hammer,screwdrivers ect.) when we came across a pink tool set that had about everything they would need. Best of all there was a $10.00 rebate with it. Well needless to say we decided to buy it based on the rebate. We found the rebate slip and went home. A few days later I filled out the rebate for and put it in the mail. Two days ago I received a "Rebate" for $10.00 credit towards our next purchase. We live 50 miles from the closest Menards. Do they honestly think we are going to drive 50 miles to get a $10.00 credit? If the sign telling of the "Rebate" not credit was more clearly written, We would of bought else where. This is not a poor review of the store in Massillon, but Menards in general. When I emailed their rebate department,I received a very cold and impersonal for letter. What poor customer service. Menards isn't exactly the same big box Home Depot/Lowe's hardware store. This place is huge. If you're looking for a tool/widget that the other places don't carry, it's worth checking out Menards as they seem to carry a lot more variety. They always have special sales going on as well, so check you local paper for those deals. read more

I love this place! It has (mostly) items in stock that neither Depot, nor Lowes carry! The displays of materials shown throughout the lumber department are especially nice! The associates here are friendly, courteous and for the most part, knowlegeable! Returns are easy, if you have charged the item being returned. Just slip your credit card into the computer kiosk, and the items purchased come up on the screen. For a store of this type, it doesn't get much better than this! They have a lot of merchandise in stock at this store. So much in fact that they might have to look for the items in "top stock". So if you dont see it on the shelf...ask! It may be located in the warehouse or some other location within the store. read more

I just tried out the new Menards in Cuyahoga Falls. I will have to say it is a very large store. The bad thing is there's very little organization inside and the place is very crowded. You cannot find anyone to help you with anything and everything there feels very cheap. I was walking in and the first thing that struck me was a man with a chainsaw cutting up wood in the front. I hope for their sake that this is not going to be a permanent fixture in front of their store. I ended up getting a flyer from them then I could scan to get some money off an order. When I did finally find the hidden scanner in the store I found that it had nothing on it. It was just a scam to get you to come into the store. When I tried to leave the exits locked up. People began piling up to the door trying to get out and none of the associates came by to release the doors. I was able to get out of the crowd of panicked people and make it to the entrance where I got out. I think that the fire inspector should stop by the store and see what is going on. I know if I was on duty I would shut this place down until they fixed the problem with the exit doors. Being a fireman myself and an inspector that is a huge violation especially when they have a massive load of combustibles inside this building. This place is not safe by any stretch of the imagination. read more

Warning to everyone. Do not buy anything from this store if it needs to be special ordered. We purchased a corner tub and shower and a vanity and marble sink top. It was such a nightmare. We were sent and rejected or returned 3 sink tops. The fourth one we "settled" for has 3 bad spots in front of the sink bowl. Because of the stress of having to reorder one and wait for a new one to be delivered we installed it. Turns out those markings, that look like cigarette burns are flaws in the finish. Trying to get some help by Menards with our top. Eventually we were told it is natural markings and we should have inspected it more thorough. Ya,we did see them but due to plumber availability and stress of continuous returning and didn't think it was so bad, we installed it. Turns out, they are gouges in the finish. Nice. Whoever manufactured that top and packaged it to sell definitely knew of the damage and now Menards is saying too bad. Zero help. So let this be a warning... DO NOT buy anything that must be special ordered!!! As for me and my family we will now shop elsewhere. read more

It is 7 PM , I live about a half hr. away from Menards in Massillon. We arrived there about 3:15 PM. Intending to order a Mastercraft Door. When someone finally came along to help, I already had a printout of the door I had chosen from a previous visit. But still had a few questions about the prices between a steel & a fiberglass door. Well he took my print out which I told him I wanted back , oh sure he says, " I need to take this to the office to check. Well over an hour later I see him walking by and he says , Oh you're still here ??? YES, I'm waiting for my printouts of the prices. " Oh OK he says and disappears. About a half hour later I decide to find the office, and he's coming with my copies, shows me the prices and ( which are fine ) and says do you want to order. After a wait like that my husband says let's get out of here ! ( Just to give you and idea of how long we waited my Husband helped 2 customers and I helped 1 ! We both took time to go to the bathroom ! ) We intended to order today to take advantage of 11% . But left ordering nothing after waiting almost 2hours ! read more
