The museum is very well done and takes you through the history of the Civil Rights Movement in a way that is both educational and powerful. There is so much to read, see, and experience that we spent several hours here and still felt like we could have spent more time. The most moving part of the visit was seeing the Lorraine Motel and standing outside Room 306, where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. spent his final moments. It is hard to describe the feeling of being there in person. As a teacher and a parent, I especially appreciated how the museum encourages important conversations about history, equality, and justice. The exhibits are thoughtfully put together and tell stories that everyone should hear. I would definitely recommend wearing comfortable shoes and giving yourself plenty of time because this is not a place you want to rush through. The experience stays with you long after you leave. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Memphis and a place I believe everyone should visit at least once.

This museum has great value and worth every cent to keep it up and running. Our time there walking around was informative and, of course, heart breaking. Seeing the site of the MLK, Jr assassination just made me cry. I could not stop. My heart was breaking from the walk through to his assassination. But worth every step. Thank you to everyone who make this museum possible.

Let me start with the building, it is beautiful! The design, the resources. the large multipurpose rooms and the classrooms are are conducive to the type of work being done with the Youth and Community. I have gone for several occasions from banquets to rock climbing fun to youth workshops and they are always more than accommodating. Speaking of the activities, again I have gone for sporting and fitness retreats with students. This time, I went to facilitate a workshop and they had all of the equipment that I needed. The staff were super helpful! All of this makes an awesome facility and I look forward to continued partnership!

The architecture is very unique and is designed to help promote learning about buildings, structures and their relationship with the environment. I know this place offers a lot, but the scope of there activities and services is unclear. Their website isn't super helpful in communicating this sort of information either. I do know they offer team building activities, which is why I was here. Great experience! The activities were meaningful, well thought out and executed seamlessly. The staff was very helpful in facilitating conversations about the process while not letting us get too far off track in our discussions. One of my favorites of the night was the rock climbing wall! What a fun experience in general, let alone as part of a team building exercise. This wall is also open some Fridays for people to come and climb from 6-9pm for $15. Call ahead or check their facebook to check on which Fridays they are hosting this.

I'm really not a particularly overtly religious person. I use the word prayer and pray a lot for lack of a better term. These cards said the recipient would be remembered in prayer for the next year. The Easter Cards were exceptionally beautiful. I received four and naturally I sent the most religious one to my Aunt and Uncle in the State of Georgia. They are very very religious Catholics. It took about two weeks to arrive. My Aunt sent me a photo of the card I sent her and a note of Thanks. She was happy I am supporting the Sacred Heart Southern Mission. If they send me more greeting cards I can use I will be happy to donate. I'm not into the sympathy cards. I keep getting those from many religious organizations. Enough is enough! I recommend you donate to your favorite charities. I like the happiness my greeting cards bring to my family and friends mailbox.

That is when the name Jesse Thrower was change my life for the better. I had no where to turn and no prospects. I was directed to 600 Poplar to begin finding services. This man was patient, he had kind words of encouragement, he made me laugh and all in all was able to make me believe it was going to turn out alright in the end. So fast forward a couple years, I am a success story. I have even been able to return the favors he bestowed to me by donating back. He is a wonderful, proper, caring individual. His guidance and insight is needed desperately when the chips are down. He never sugar-coats anything. But that man, Mr. Jesse is a God-send. Without him, so many more would be less than they are now. He keeps tabs on his "kids". He cares. It is a beautiful thing when he cares like a father. He cares when no one else does. I have been to the other mission. There was no help. All the help I received was from 600 Poplar. Mr. Jesse is in charge for a reason. He is the best to help you out to see long term how to fix the problems you are in. You do have to work but he will help you if you put in the effort. God bless him always and keep him safe! We need leaders like him!
