They give you a "Walkman" to listen to each display. The entree price is reasonable. The staff is friendly and helpful. With that all being said, I don't think this is a good field trip for elementary school kids. They just aren't to the age to appreciate the history here and for a field trip with several kids that need to stand and listen to each display, they got bored real quick. I would have rather taken my son by ourself so we could enjoy it all better.

Next time, I for sure want to take my son inside the planetarium because it was my most favorite thing as a kid. Hopefully, he'll love it too. I'm so excited I was finally able to scratch a visit to Sun Studios off of my Memphis to-do list…read more For music history lovers it's one of the most iconic places to make a pilgrimage to stand where some of the greats stood as they recorded hit songs that have remained relevant more than 80 years later. You can't reserve tours online and are available on a first come first serve basis and take place at the half hour mark. I arrived at about 12:15 and despite the 12:30 tour being removed as available for the tour board the employee at the front kindly let me slide into the 12:30 tour group. It's a small building but A LOT of history and memorabilia are packed into the building . The guided tour begins on the second floor where there is a small single room with musuem exhibits and items from the early days of Sun Records. After spending time here you'll be taken back downstairs to spend time in the actual recording studio. In total the tour lasted about 45 minutes and you were able to linger at the end without feeling rushed to take photos with THE microphone and soak in the energy of the space. If you're any kind of music lover you can't miss this building where so much pop culture and music history was made.

The King is still here!…read more Elvis Presley Graceland! What a legend to step in here. The original grounds were a family farm! Elvis bought the land and sewed in the seeds of rock n roll. The seeds of Elvis are deep here in Memphis. This was the voice of Sun Records that it sounds that they were looking for. He used that fame to make his legacy stand but to make the community better too. They have over 200,00 square feet of the homestead, airplanes, cars, museum space that you want the VIP access for the ultimate experience and views. Many come from all over to see the King! The lines are sometimes very long and can be difficult. Do the VIP? It's the best! Less wait time? Better luck for you and your group. Make sure and listen you will learn so much about the King that you did not even know. The wall surrounding Graceland has so many personality too. Many individuals leave their mark here for the King still today. Read the words of others who have left their mark for him.

Stax Records History…read more.... Do you know some famous ones, Issac Hayes or Otis Redding? This was the label where they made a debut! They have all sorts of different styles of music here. They have ample parking. You can purchase tickets online or on site. They have the tours every hour. It's very informative. You will come out a bit smarter with the music and ways of playing the music games during this period. They have a great selection of music memories and outfits that others wore all those years ago. Here it sits for us to see. The birth of music began here in Memphis. The memories of the past are now here for you and me to see at Stax.

This time, when a friend came to town, I finally worked up the courage to explore it together. To my surprise, the neighborhood has changed so much. The area is now well developed and organized, completely different from what I remembered. I really enjoyed taking my time reading through the exhibits and learning about the history of soul music and the incredible artists who shaped it. There was something deeply emotional about learning about the decline of the community and studio, while also witnessing its rebirth and preservation. Now one of the supporters of this place is the Big Blues Bender that plays every year in Vegas at the Westgate. The last place that Elvis played. The feeling standing here .
