How do you go to Graceland and not write a review? Don't ask me…read more It was a really cool experience walking through the mansion and its grounds just imagining Elvis and his life there. Everything is so well-maintained and in pristine condition. A true time capsule. Getting to see everything there as well as the Lisa Marie plane and the large warehouse displaying everything from his cars to outfits, Lisa Marie's baby toys, his army uniform and more was so fascinating. On the wall outside of the mansion visitors have written messages, their names and where they're from etc. We did as well. Maybe one day we'll visit again and try to find what we penned on the wall.

The experience is much more polished, and the opening film about Elvis makes his legacy easy to appreciate even if we didn't grow up knowing much about him. There are also more exhibits now, and we could tell they've invested a lot into improving it. Only downside: a really mean staff member outside the ticket area who stopped us and questioned our ticket choice quite aggressively, insisting there was no such thing as a "basic" ticket. As the person who has visited three times before, I had to explain that I meant the most basic tier they offer and then finally she let me go. It felt rude and a bit disrespectful, especially since the other staff members were so nice and welcoming. Still a great experience overall, just wish the front-line service matched the rest.

But my wife wanted to visit the Memphis Botanic Garden for her birthday, and somehow this place turned me into a calm, peaceful woodland citizen for a few hours. First off, the weather was absolutely perfect, which already gives nature a huge advantage. Then you walk the grounds and realize this place is legitimately beautiful. Ducks casually living their best lives, koi fish gliding through the water like they pay property taxes there, birds chirping, flowers everywhere, waterfalls and water features--it's like stress gets checked at the front gate with your $12 admission fee. And let's not overlook the fact that there were food trucks... and one of them was selling cocktails. Suddenly being outside didn't seem so unreasonable anymore. What surprised me most was how peaceful the entire experience felt. It genuinely pulls you away from the noise of everyday life and drops you into this quiet little zen mode you didn't know you needed. Also, if you're planning a wedding or outdoor event, this place is loaded with gorgeous spots that look like they came straight out of a magazine. Seriously, every few steps felt like another "this would be an amazing wedding photo" moment. When the weather cooperates, this place is hard to beat as a happy place. Even for people like me who normally consider "the outdoors" a temporary inconvenience.

Every path leads to something new--vibrant blooms, hidden corners, and stunning landscapes that make you stop and go "okay wow..." at least 20 times. Whether you're wandering through the themed gardens, snapping aesthetic pics, or just soaking in the calm, it's the ultimate reset button from real life. And let's talk about the vibes--immaculate. It's romantic, relaxing, and somehow inspiring all at once. One minute you're strolling through gorgeous greenery, the next you're planning your entire future garden like you suddenly have landscaping skills Perfect for a chill day, a cute date, or just getting lost in something beautiful, the Memphis Botanic Garden is a must-visit gem. 10/10--nature really showed off here

My wife got us tickets to see Gary Owen because she knows how much I love seeing him. The show was absolutely great and she picked some very good seats. I did feel like he cut the show just a little short. There's always that one drunk person that wants to yell out from the crowd. I think it was starting to irritating. What can you say about the orpheum? That hasn't already been said. It's a very nice historical place. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars. Is because like everyone else, they take advantage of people on concessions. I realized back in the day. This is the way places made their money. It's a little different these days. They make plenty of money on the shows. My other small complaint is the seating. Although its way better than Minglewood Hall, the seats are just too close together. I'm a big fella, and it's just very uncomfortable. Overall, they put on great shows and the place is very nice. I definitely wouldn't let the small things stop you from going.

Spoiler alert: no mud, just a whole lot of chill vibes and some seriously underrated views of the Mississippi River. The Riverwalk--this giant scale model of the Mississippi--is like geography class got cool and decided to throw a party. This place can use some love, but we still had a good time and enjoyed it. The tram was also out of order, but it was fun walking across the bridge. Atmosphere - An island off of Memphis.
