Brewpub, great friendly service, nice pub menu. I sampled Hubert, Melvin, Cloudy5000 as well as Hey Zeus beers all were excellent. Thai sweet chile Chicken Wings were excellent. Melvin house salad was great. Potstickers were good. Battered and deep fried Avocado slices had way too much aioli on them plus the batter was too thick. I've had fried avocado elsewhere which were much better. Zucchini sticks were good. Notorious P.I.G. wrap was great. Loaded fries were good. read more

Drove out there from Victor. A nice view. Free peanuts on the table. We were hoping to have lunch. We sat down and were grateful that the waitress told us that it would be over a hour to get our food. They have a trailer next to the brewer. The waitress said that they were overwhelmed. We were happy they told us before we ordered. My father and husband ordered beers. I ordered a soda. We were hungry so we didn't stay long. We enjoyed our brief time as the view was nice. My husband said beer was alright. If have some spare time and enjoy beer make the trip. If no spare time then not a must do in the area. read more

Cocktails and beer and food, oh my! The OG Melvin location is in the absolute middle of nowhere. You're not going here unless you're making a plan to go here. And it's all the better for it! We left Idaho a little later in the day both to stop at a distillery beforehand, and to make sure we could stop here in time for lunch. Now, the whole reason we even wanted to go (aside from having heard good things and having tried a couple of their suds at the Great American Beer Festival) was that near an old apartment of mine someone (ostensibly someone doing local distribution in Denver) used to drive the Melvin van - a little transit van with the Melvin livery. I used to see it every day and was like, oh, well now's the perfect time to check this place out! So we left late, and went about 45 minutes out of our way to visit Melvin, and it was a great stop. We had our dog with us and it was way too hot to leave him in the car, so we hung out outside near some barrels - they weren't "served" seats, as the servers only work the patio, but we were fine to chill out there and drink and get some food "to go" and eat there. Our dog also doesn't really love strangers so we thought it best not to try and wait for a spot on the patio. Beers were great, food took almost 45 minutes but was pretty tasty (and they did say they were backed up and it would be a wait for food, but we decided to wait it out anyway. All in all a great stop, super scenic, very out of the way, tasty vittles, and wonderful beer with a friendly staff. Really enjoyed it. read more

We are big Melvin beer fans but were a bit apprehensive about visiting their OG location after reading the negative reviews regarding customer service. They have a San Diego location which is great, but the beers there aren't the same beers in rotation here. The location here is pretty awesome as it sits near the river and is a huge iconic warehouse with the Melvin logo blasted on the side. You are greeted with the smell of fresh hops as you walk in. It smells amazing. Seating area is not that big inside as the warehouse is mainly used for brewing. There is lots of outdoor seating but we opted for inside. We were immediately greeted by Virginia as we sat down. She gave us menus and explained the food special of the day. We ended up ordering a salad and large chicken quesadilla with all the side fixings to share. Being from SD it's hard not to be too judgemental when ordering mexican food. This was a different take on a quesadilla but it was very fresh, very clean and with great flavor. The house salad was also very fresh with vinaigrette dressing. As for the beers, well let's just say it's hard to make a bad decision when ordering anything off the menu. I had the classic, 2 x 4 IPA and my wife had Back in the Haze IPA. Both were excellent. Throughout our visit Virginia was very friendly and attentive. One of the other servers helped us at one point as we ordered beer to go. She was pretty awesome as well as she described what they had 'to go'. We talked about our visit here and the great vibe for days on after. We will def stop in if ever passing through. Heard about this place from a buddy so we stopped by. Walked in and immediately were welcomed by friendly employees and drinkers alike. Beers are fresh and taste awesome. We got a flight of different ipa's and others and were all great. Favorites were J-Hole Experimental IPA, Melvin IPA, and scenario porter. Pool table, Kung Fu movies and old school hip hop make this wu tang jumpoff jump off! This place is legit. Craig is the f*ckin man and showed us Melvin Brewing and who these guys are. The reason for the two star rating is the customer service. I'm not someone who usually cares about that- but the staff was outwardly & purposefully rude to their customers. I went out of my way to go here on my way through Wyoming. I was planning on getting a second flight as well as bringing several beers home, but when I went to order more I was blatantly ignored by the FOUR servers behind the counter. This is not due to Covid after reading the earlier reviews left. It's just honestly not worth the hassle, just go somewhere else. read more

While visiting a friend, we went to Melvin for a relaxing evening with food and bevs. First off, the views from the outdoor sitting area are wonderful. It's extremely peaceful and just beautiful. I know this is a brewery, but I didn't try the beer since I am gluten-free. However, I can speak to Melvin's margaritas. So good! I opted for the Southwest Chicken Sandwich, without a bun. It was amazing! One small warning - it is quite spicy so I would not recommend this entree if you are not fond of the heat. Our server was great even thought she appeared to be the only one assigned to the outdoor area. I would recommend Melvin and I will definitely be back when I visit again. read more

Not a single complaint about Melvin Brewing! First thing you should know though, it's a bit of a struggle to get to! Just follow the "beer" sign and then keep working your way though the neighborhood, you'll get there eventually, and it's on the road closest to the water! First, the view is amazing and the outdoor area is set up so perfectly. The service was great once we had a server assigned to us, and I enjoyed the peanuts that were on the tables when you sit down. We have been drinking Melvin beers for awhile, so when we came to Jackson, we had to come to Alpine and see this place. It did not disappoint. The scenery is out of a movie, I mean who doesn't want to sit out on a party patio, overlooking the Snake River, a lake, and making new friends? The food was awesome! Order the potstickers. Everyone is the 12 tasters I had was a great beer. Their IPA's are some of the best I have ever had and I'm from Oregon the land of IPA's. The 2x4 deserves every award it has earned. They also have a great English Bitter, Johny Rotten and a brown ale, Ol' Dirty Brown that honestly were my two favorites. We also ordered a giant Bavarian pretzel, the 420 Fries and Dirty Fries, all delicious. Service was friendly and kitchen was above average speed. I will be looking for Melvin beers in Oregon for sure. Also, we are planning a return trip to Alpine to visit family and drink their delicious beers. If you are driving to Jackson or the Tetons, stop at Melvin in Alpine, you won't be disappointed. read more

Stopped in while staying in Alpine. We had a couple of beers along with a burger. It was really full and I think since Covid they have had hard times keeping staff as many businesses have. The manager was apologetic and did comp us a couple of beers which he really didn't have to do, but was appreciated. We've been huge Melvin fans for years. We've had all of their Colorado-distributed beers, and always attend their ticketed GABF-week events. So, naturally, we included a pilgrimage to Alpine in the itinerary for our Wyoming-Montana-Idaho-Colorado summer road trip. We were a little disappointed that the tap list included little that is available in cans in other states, but we like the beers so we decided to hang out. We were a bit incredulous when the folks we sat next to on the patio complained about an hour+ wait for a Bavarian pretzel, but we ordered some snacks anyway. Our pretzel came out in 30 minutes or so, and chicken skewers came shortly thereafter. So, we decided to stay and order more beer and food. After dropping $150+ on drinks and swag, and waiting way too long for the couple other snacks we ordered, we decided to cancel the rest of the food (just a couple apps), grab a couple four-packs, and head out. The surly reception from the folks working there was unbelievable. First, it wasn't a standing-room crowd; if you don't have fryer/grill/flattop capacity for the seats you have, maybe don't serve food, or rework your menu, or??? Second, if a well-paying customer politely asks to cancel an order due to your admitted inability to keep up, most places would apologize, promptly take care of them, and moving on to the next 90-minute appetizer or 2-hour burger. In one word, our only visit to Melvin was disappointing. For a brewery that is expanding internationally, the inability to sling some apps and burgers at the flagship (?) location is puzzling, to put it mildly. Bummer, Melvin. read more

One of our favorite breweries we have ever been to! The beer is delicious-we tried a few different styles, but just as enjoyable, if not more so, the salt of the earth awesome people that own and run this place! We were at another location in Alpine when we realized that the IPA we were drinking and thoroughly enjoying was brewed right down the street-we must go straight to the source after such an enjoyable libation. We ended up at a large warehouse near the reservoir where we were very impressed with their production capabilities. Hope was our bartender and she was beyond helpful in our beer selection and just an all around great person. We ordered a burger and egg rolls-both were delicious comfort food after a long day. The most wonderful surprise was when it was time to pay the owner unbeknownst to us had taken care of our tab! He must have overheard our praise and happiness in finding such a fantastic hidden gem, in a tiny town that we already love, we now want to live here forever! But alas, we will take the delicious beers with us on our extended road trip and keep spreading the joy. read more

I went there twice in 2 days and the service was terrible. The first time we had to go inside, twice, after 15 minutes because a server still hadn't been by. The drinks took forever, my friends salad had a hair in it. We tried a second time because I've been there in the past and it was good, so I thought the bad experience was a fluke. Nope. The waitress handed out menus then said "due to a staffing shortage, the kitchen is on a limited menu, and that just happened".
