The Back In Da Haze Hazy IPA!
Alden C.

I have had Melvin a couple of times before, specifically when they were once located in Bellingham, Washington. That location has since closed and it looks like their headquarters in Alpine is the only location left. I always enjoyed their beer and figured I was due for a revisit and some time has passed and when I pass through Wyoming I like to hit up as many of my home state craft breweries that I can. This latest beer excursion with Melvin was all about IPA'S. I had three different ones and all three had their unique signature to them. It wasn't where one IPA ran into another in regards to flavor and it was hard to tell apart. So that was most appreciated because that scenario is often the case for me. One IPA I had was the 2X4 Dipa, a Double IPA which I liked. It was smooth and strong and the flavors of tropical sweetness and hoppiness was certainly there. The characteristic I liked best with this one was that it was strong. The Melvin IPA was the next one. What really got my attention with this one was it's piney personality. It also was sweet, fruity and hoppy. Also a very smooth bodied IPA. The last IPA was the Back in Da Haze, this was a New England IPA and had a good creamy body to it. The juicy, fruity and citrus presence was nice too. A good return for me and Melvin and a brewery I have every intention of returning to as I love to travel through the Alpine area and this corner of Wyoming is one of my favorite spots in the entire state.

Such a great spot in Alpine! - Ambiance 5/5. There are so many seating options. Wonderful outdoor seating overlooking the lake and mountains. There is also a lawn area out there with yard games. Indoor seating has normal tables for small groups, large high top tables for large groups or community seating, window high top bar and the general bar seats. The majority of the building is the brewery which is quite massive!! It's a large open warehouse design. - Service 5/5. The staff here are awesome! Always friendly, always checking on you and are mostly local from what I can tell. - Food 5/5. I've only had a few things, the steak tacos and their signature burger. They were both good, no complaints. The menu is decent for a brewery in a tiny town. - Beer 5/5. This is why you're coming and it's worth it. So many options, all are very tasty! Nice seasonal selections and always fresh!! Make sure you try the Star Vally!! Make sure you stop in if you're passing through Alpine or make it a weekend trip and go spend some time in the forest and come in for some beer and food after!! So good!!

Beautiful outside patio! Service was great. Beers were delicious and food was decent. Good stop if you are headed to Jackson.

Purple Drift

We're always on the hunt for a great brewery--and Melvin Brewing did not disappoint! Super cute spot with a laid-back vibe, yard games, and both indoor/outdoor seating. My husband is a hazy IPA guy, and while they only had Back In Da Haze on tap during our visit, it was solid. One of the staff recommended Purple Drift (not a hazy, but still a hit), and hubby ended up enjoying it almost as much. As for me? The I'll Be Your Huckleberry cocktail was light, refreshing, and perfect for a summer afternoon. We shared a giant pretzel and both had burgers--absolutely delicious and hit the spot. Great food, good drinks, and genuinely friendly staff!

You really have to take a visit to this glorious establishment, especially if your camping in an RV, they have free dry camping right in front LAKESIDE with amazing views and surroundings. However, let's talk about Melvins Brewery, you can tell the staff are treated with respect and are taken care of by the owners and managers. They care! We had dealt with multiple staff over the 2 night stopover but none were more accommodating than Sam, despite me assuming he was one of the kids playing Corn Hole when we first arrived this baby face Manager and true gentleman ehad a very strong command of the restaurant and how to make it sizzle.

This Hass to be one of the most beautiful breweries in the world. It's located in Alpine, Wyoming and the views are just stunning. However, what's just as stunning is the brewery itself. The food, the beer, the environment is amazing. I cannot recommend this place more. If you're ever lost in the mountains of Wyoming, stop by this place and, have a beer. Also, there branding is super fun. You'll get it when you're there.

Cool location, great view, good beer and decent food. Came for Harvest Host camping but overall enjoyed the brewery.

Good drinks. Great view. Really great service. Crazy great merch. The pretzel was good, BUT I wouldn't recommend the shrimp tacos.

If I could give 10 stars, I would! This is my new favorite place in Jackson! Everything was…read moreperfect. Starting first with the food: I am a foodie who has eaten out a LOT and I can honestly say I had the best wings, grilled cheese, & tomato soup of my life! The sandwich bread was perfectly flavorful and toasted crunchy, & the cheese was gooey & wonderful. The tomato soup was the perfect flavor, not plain but not spicy, just right. The wings were hot and crunchy on the outside, juicy inside, and had a nice sauce. Also loved their Brussels sprouts. We did not think prices were too high either for being in Jackson. Service was wonderful too. We had the nicest server who was attentive and kept our drinks full and checked on us when needed. Ambiance: Of course the view is so cool! Doesn't matter what time of year, even with ski season being over, we enjoyed the view of the snow melting off Snow King. The restaurant has so many different seating options like bar seating, small tables, big tables, and the outdoor patio is so cool! It's huge and they have heaters out there too. Inside is so bright and cheerful with the huge floor to ceiling windows. Not a bad seat in the whole place. Beer: Yummy! So many different types to try, nice selection. We liked everything we tried. This will be the first place we stop when we return to Jackson, and we are bringing our friends!

Great view and ambiance facing the hill and observatory…read more They have frequent entree changes. We enjoyed the following: the chicken with broccolini entree - juicy and perfectly cooked chicken Asian inspired shrimp and pork belly entree - well cooked fresh shrimp, the eggs and zucchini were great complements! Cesar salad with chicken (fried) - Not sure if it was an option. We would've appreciated grilled or pan fried chicken instead of fried chicken. Lager chili - cozy bowl of soup, so hearty and filling! Staff were friendly and helpful.

The food was fantastic! Especially for an eatery. Though little did need to be improved upon. The…read moreburgers our party had ordered had some sort of Jam on them, which caused the buns to easily fall apart mid-bite. Normally this is a non-issue after half the burger is consumed, but after the first bite is excessive. A lighter layering of the Jam would do wonders for the longevity of the eating experience. The cheesesteaks were glorious! The bread was definitely the best I could ever recount in my life, which made the actual fillings just that much better. On top of that, with the amount of fries, having a spicy sriracha Ketchup would have been great. As it is a Pub and eatery, The alcohol was great! The in-house brews are nothing to pass over and should be tried when coming. (The Hey-Zeus is a stellar Mexican brew) The atmosphere is fairly loud, which is nice but having that paired with the service, which is a little quiet to hear in the establishment, Makes it hard to understand what the staff is saying. They're very polite and low-key, which is nice for wanting to talk with the company you came with, rather than stressing about the staff hounding you about refills or how good the food is. I cannot recommend enough, and once the minor issues have been buffed out, Deserves a 5/5 star rating

"Yeah, the back of the Roadhouse They got some bungalows…read more And that's for the people Who like to go down slow" (The Doors) You'll find it inside Jackson's busy Town Center and up a staircase that leads you to a big dining room, a glass wall with brewing vessels, plenty of wall mounted TVs and a huge screen on the far left of the space. They have a deep and eclectic menu that includes Laab Gi Lettuce Wraps, Ahi Tuna Poke , Elk & Pork Spring Rolls, a Bison Burger, and BBQ. We split an order of the Venison Tostadas ($21) with Roasted Onions and Peppers, Chimichurri, Tajin Crema, Queso Fresco, Cilantro, and Toasted Sunflower Seeds. The order included three tacos loaded with tasty meat. Word of warning- that Chimichurri sauce is pretty potent. We also split a Bison Burger with fries ($27) with Bourbon Bacon Jam, Arugula, Fried Onions, and Cheddar. The burger was great -big and easily splitable and delicious. The fries were excellent and came in a jumbo portion. The only disappointing feature of our lunch was a whopping $5 charge for a soft drink. Yes, it was refillable, but that's quite a bit of dough for a Diet Pepsi, don't you think?

A thoroughly enjoyable evening and dinner…read more Possibly the best ribeye I've had in the past 10 years, but the other "foam and powder"aspects of the dish were just silly. The so called General Tso steak sauce was like a thimbleful smear and completely irrelevant. BBQ Ramen seasoning? Not even enough to get a taste profile of it. The trout with a green curry sauce was good but again, ummmm.... Trout has a subtle flavor. Green curry coconut sauce, and stuffed with another type of Asian something something....might as just as well better to use a neutral tasting fish like a better quality tilapia imho. Let trout taste like trout. Use a different, neutral tasting fish for these kinds of sauces and fillings. Well at least it wasn't covered with a garnish of micro greens lol. Just a little cilantro heh heh heh. I mean don't get me wrong. Both entrees were okay. But a waste of quality fish when a less costly fish would have been fine what with all those other flavors. And the foam and powder embellishments on the steak were barely noticeable. The whole menu reads like a community college cooking school graduate little bit of this little bit of that. When I get home I'm going to have fun writing the different components of all the menu items on index cards, shuffle, and see what combinations come up each time. And I love the idea of a General Tso steak sauce and want to try creating one. And using a packet of Ramen seasoning instead of Cajun seasoning sounds like a fun thing to try. I just won't do it on a fifty dollar piece of meat. If you are counting calories you skip the gross doughnut hole dessert. Dense ball of dough. Gummy. Like they used a cake doughnut recipe instead of a yeast doughnut or beignet recipe. But if not counting calories , go for it. It's fun to try the sauces, even if not that great a doughnut. Great, festive, lively ambiance . Super friendly staff and service.

With so many strong restaurants in Jackson, this one didn't stand out as one we would revisit…read more Our server was lovely--friendly, attentive, and clearly doing their best. Unfortunately, the bar was painfully slow. Our first round of drinks took about 15 minutes, and the second took closer to 30 minutes after ordering. We eventually had to check in to make sure they were even coming. The food was fine, but not something we'd come back for. The elk pasta lacked the depth and richness you expect from a bolognese. The trout--poblano stuffed and curry-prepared--was an interesting idea, but the curry completely overpowered the fish, making the dish feel unbalanced. We had curry-dusted trout at The Blue Lion earlier in the week that was far better. (One of the best trout meals I've ever had.)
