One of my friends remembered this wee shop in St. Enoch so we decided to give it a go. For what it is, the ice cream was ok. Reminded me of Big Licks in Finneston. There were loads of flavours to choose from and a variety of cones and toppings if you so wish. The lady behind the counter wasn't the friendliest of ice cream scoopers, but I'm not sure how much more friendly should could have been seeing as how she's there alone all day waiting on people to buy ice cream. She surely seemed in a hurry to get us taken care of and on our way, which wasn't a bad thing. I now know where to go when I'm in the city centre if I'm looking for an ice cream treat that isn't just a frozen lolly out of the local shops.

It's a cute stand in the middle of the mall with a few high stools in the shape of ice cream cones facing a countertop where you can enjoy your treats. There are about 18 flavours you can choose from including classics like mint chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate. If you want something different they have Irn Bru, kinder, bounty, Scottish tablet, crunchy and a couple more delicious flavours. I tried the bounty and the Irn Bru flavours and both were lovely! Nice change from a McDonalds McFlurry when you are looking for a sweet treat in the mall.

It's a small location with a few tables but is really setup for takeaway business. Situated right across from the Meadows, this works well. I had come out without my glasses and unfortunately they didn't have a printed menu so I was at a bit of a loss for what was on offer. It was only after I ordered a frozen yoghurt that I discovered that they have a non-dairy option which would have been a better choice. As has been said previously, they have only two flavours at a time with the option to mix. When I was in the options were plain (which I think is a standard) and banana. I opted for the plain and splurged on an oreo topping. The yoghurt was very tasty without being overly sugary - big plus. The small serving was ENORMOUS as well as being pricey (£2.75, I think?). I would have much preferred a smaller portion with a smaller price. All in all it was ok but I probably won't find myself itching to return - my recommendation would be to advertise their flavour of the day on their website or Facebook page, and to create a smaller and more wallet friendly serving size.

I mean, later, when you've already bought a cone you can worry about consistency and about how well it even pulls those flavours off, but surely if they don't have the flavour you want you'll just go elsewhere. Crolla has a great range of flavours. As well as all the old classic flavours it has a few more exciting options as well as a small number of sorbets - perfect if you want something just a little more refreshing. Fortunately, they do manage to get the flavours right (at least all the ones I've tasted) and the consistency of the ice cream is always creamy perfection. They do so-called "real food" too. I recommend their student lunch deal which is a soup and half sandwich for a very reasonable price. The pizza cones look great too but I don't think I'd have any idea how to actually eat one. I'll try eventually and get back to you on that. Their coffee is pretty good too but really, you're here for the ice cream and the ice cream is good. Treat yourself to an extra scoop.

I haven't had ice cream in months either so I was super stoked! But as I was approaching the place with my partner and friends, we were greeted with a whole ton of MESS. Dirty sticky tables outside, covered in used napkins and to-go gelato cups that had dried up melted ice cream in it (can I say EW?). Seems like the staff don't care much about cleanliness??? We had to clean everything up before sitting at one of the tables outside, which really did make my impression of the place quite bad. When you go in, there are tables and benches that are the same; not cleaned and not cleared from cups and napkins. Is this place dirty or something? :/ I have no complaints about the staff member who served us though! He was a friendly lad! He laughed at me when I asked if the toppings and sauce for my gelato were free, and then proceeded to generously coat my gelato with thousands of sprinkles and chocolate sauce. I laughed in delight as I paid 3pounds for such a wonderful portion of ice cream. I also really liked the ice cream itself! Best way to describe - SINFUL. Guilt with every bite, but it's so worth it hohohohoho! The only comment is, please maintain the cleanliness of the premises! I mean, I'm not a picky person, I don't mind seeing tables uncleared if the staff members make an effort to clean it when they notice new customers coming in, but they saw us put our stuff down, they saw us sit outside with the dirty crap and sticky stuff on the table, and yet they just shrugged it off and left us to clear everything ourselves. Indifferent much?

I'm not massive on desserts, I would always rather a cheese board, but being a game fella (and with the promise of somewhere new) I agreed to go along. When we arrived the first thought that came into my head was 'Is this Big Licks?' such was the similarity in décor (black shop frontage, brightly coloured sign and modernish style interior), menu options and in general layout. The main difference though between Cravings and Big Licks is one does it pretty right and one seems a bit like an Aldi knock off. There was nothing fundamentally wrong with it, my 3 scoops of Strawberry Cheesecake, Peanut and Honeycomb ice creams all tasted as you would imagine they would but they all just seemed a little flat. The lads seemed keen to sit in to finish their ice cream but I was more inclined to eat on the move as in all honesty it all fit a little soulless. The ice cream was cheap and pleasant enough but I would be lying if my abiding memory was one that suggested that this is where all your dessert dreams go to die...just a little. Either this place is linked to Big Licks and they are not trying that hard with it or it's not and they're struggling to come up with their own identity. It was fine but I won't be rushing back.
