I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share this experience due to serious food…read moresafety concerns. We ordered from Celino's on August 19th, and one of the dishes -- the Allo Scoglio Pasta -- contained spoiled crayfish. The smell was unmistakable and completely inedible. We didn't eat anything else in the order out of caution, as the risk of food poisoning was too high. I grew up in Greece and know seafood -- this was clearly off. Given that my mother was previously sick for weeks due to bad crayfish, we weren't willing to take any chances and threw out the entire meal. I contacted the restaurant immediately. The manager acknowledged the issue and initially offered a replacement meal for collection only, which felt dismissive considering the seriousness of the situation. I was told I'd be called the next day by the area manager -- that call never came. Eventually, someone called around 7pm and all they did was refund one meal and insinuate that we didn't know what we were talking about. It was condescending and disappointing. Expecting us to collect a free meal from the same kitchen that nearly served us spoiled seafood is not a solution -- it's a lack of accountability. Pointing us toward Uber Eats to resolve the issue just felt like passing the buck. Food safety should be a top priority, and the lack of proper follow-up or genuine concern from the team is alarming. I hope no one else has to experience this.

Followed by the biggest strawberry tart I've had! OMG, I can safely say the food was the best Italian food I have eaten in Scotland. whatever ingredients they use are simply wow! our waiter Alex was so attentive, had fabulous "patter" and he just completed our experience. From start to finish, we had an amazing day, and it's now my new favourite restaurant! if you want authentic Italian food with fabulous service and a very reasonable price, then Celino's is the place to go!

Yes, I'll be as bold to say: I hate all hating spouted by haters especially when directed at yawn-worthily obvious targets like hipsters. There. I lead with this little prelude as I left a bloody battle in London: a battle between hipsters and those obviously-deeply-embittered-by-a-woefully-unfulfilled-desire-to-be-part-of-the-cool-gang (as seriously, there is no other real explanation for this wildly irrational disdain) over polarising cereal-lovers'-delight, Cereal Killer in Brick Lane. Well move over Shoreditch. Glasgow now boasts Scotland's first cereal bar - Black Vanilla - standing bright white and cereally proud in the East End heart of Duke Street. I popped in this eve to check it out for myself - super busy and with no sign of slowing down at 7pm. While I did not partake personally (owing to a Dennistoun Bar-B-Que food baby) - I have awarded 5 stars on the principle of '5 stars until proven 3' (well, if it's good enough for the justice system...). The cakes look epic (Tunnocks Teacake cake *eyes roll back in head*), the donuts extreme, the sweetie shop insane and the ice-cream flavours all to-die-for. Add to that the longest wall of specialty British and US cereals you've ever seen, all served with a topping of said sweets and your choice of 10 flavoured milks or concocted into one of 5 cereal cocktails. Yes, really. So, if you're as bored as I am with hipster bashing, get along to this monument of gentrification and knock yourself out on a bowl of Lucky Charms covered in smashed Oreos and drowning in peanut butter flavoured milk. I'd take it over eCigarette stores, pawn brokers or dodgy tanning salons any day.

Last night instead of booze we got shakes and I tried (badly) not to get Ice cream all down me. The shop was rammed when we got there. Ten min queue at least. The staff looked shattered. Like they had been serving desserts for about ten hours solid. When it got to my turn to pick I chose the cookie shake. It's a Cookie shake with ice cream, Oreo biscuits and cream on top. It was amazing. Very sweet and decadent. You literally feel like your having 3 desserts in one go. This is a 2000 calorie job I reckon. As well as shakes they do ice cream, waffles, cereal, sweets, etc. I like this place. I would not go all the time just purely as I felt like I put on a 5 kilos just walking into the shop, but it's certainly somewhere to go for a treat if you love the sweeter things in life!

One of my friends remembered this wee shop in St. Enoch so we decided to give it a go. For what it is, the ice cream was ok. Reminded me of Big Licks in Finneston. There were loads of flavours to choose from and a variety of cones and toppings if you so wish. The lady behind the counter wasn't the friendliest of ice cream scoopers, but I'm not sure how much more friendly should could have been seeing as how she's there alone all day waiting on people to buy ice cream. She surely seemed in a hurry to get us taken care of and on our way, which wasn't a bad thing. I now know where to go when I'm in the city centre if I'm looking for an ice cream treat that isn't just a frozen lolly out of the local shops.

It's a cute stand in the middle of the mall with a few high stools in the shape of ice cream cones facing a countertop where you can enjoy your treats. There are about 18 flavours you can choose from including classics like mint chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate. If you want something different they have Irn Bru, kinder, bounty, Scottish tablet, crunchy and a couple more delicious flavours. I tried the bounty and the Irn Bru flavours and both were lovely! Nice change from a McDonalds McFlurry when you are looking for a sweet treat in the mall.

My favourite has to be the Viennese Truffles, oh my goodness, they are to die for! I could eat a whole bag to myself and then still want more! I also like Alpini Bars, Chocolate Smothered Toffee, Special Toffee, Strawberry Whirl, Toffee Cubes... I could go on forever! This branch of Thorntons is one of the smaller branches but they still manage to get everything in, they also have an ice-cream section in summer and a chocolate fountain all year round, where you choose from sticks of fudge, fruit or marshmallows. I also love the kids chocolate section, you can buy little chocolate lollies which are usually on offer at 5 for £2. There are little boxes with packets of sweets and chocolate in them with stickers too. It's also great for presents, I once bought a chocolate gorilla for my brother with his name written on in it with icing, pretty fitting I thought. It's also worth noting that Thorntons stock a wide range of diabetic chocolate which is great as many places don't stock this. My first ever job was in a branch of Thorntons when I was around 16, I was just a Christmas Temp for a month or so but it was seriously the best job ever! You got 25% discount off everything, plus free tasting on your break and if that wasn't enough there was also a box of broken chocolate that you could eat as much as you wanted!

The chocolatier is a profession and he is forever making sweet sweet art at Thorntons. Although this store is quite small its convenient to stop when passing by and what sounds more comforting that the 'chocolate bar'. Yum and double yum. If you are lucky, sometimes the chocolatiers assistants are out on the street offering samples. I have tried and tested quite few of the chocolates here, and can say my all time favourite is the Vanilla fudge. Thorntons Sauchiehall St is a great place to be, its right in the heart of the shopping district and acts as a stool to rest those tired feet and put down those heavy bags before you set off again with the power of a chocolate full tummy to lead you on.
