Definitely will not be coming back here, nor will I be visiting their other restaurants. Really unimpressed. Giving one star feels mean, but the more I consider it, the more I feel that it's deserved. Barely.
I'm not sure if I'm being unreasonable when I say that when I eat out- or eat anywhere actually- I like to be able to see my food. I actually even like to be able to see my dining companions. A friend and I went in the evening, and I'm confident when I say I've come across caves with better lighting. The restaurant was empty, and most of the lights were switched off. Had it been sunny I could've understood, but Glasgow weather being what it was...
The customer service was interesting to say the least. After being seated by one waiter, we waited about 10- 15 minutes for our drinks order to be taken by a waitress who had apparently dressed in the dark (perhaps in the very room we were seated). I'm no gynaecologist but I may as well have been, the poor girl had forgotten to put her skirt on underneath her belt. I've seen drunks on Sauchiehall Street wearing more on a Friday night. Ultimately- very off-putting. Nobody wants to eat pizza with some girl's bum hanging out in front of them.
After ordering drinks and our meals, we then waited a further 45 minutes. During this time, the lights were eventually turned on (it didn't make much difference) and the waitress proceeded to make laps of the room, whilst her male counterpart vanished. Several other groups arrived and received their meals well before us. When our meals finally arrived, they were luke-warm and somewhat disappointing. The waitress continued to make laps to the room, pausing at our table and very obviously leaning over to see whether or not we had finished. When we made it obvious that we had noticed her, she scuttled away only to rematerialise moments later, having started to circuit the room anti-clockwise instead.
We asked for the bill and waited another 10 minutes. Eventually we got fed up, stood up and paid at the till. We complained and didn't leave a tip, which the waitress and waiter loudly discussed as we left.
Won't return, unless I want confirmation for breaking up with a boyfriend.
"I saw you looking at that waitress!...Yes you were, I know because I got an eyefull too!" would probably work a treat and assuage any feelings of guilt. read more
