Me, beatle, and the signage.

So I didn't read the fine print and byob. Either way, we found a japanese place around the corner that let us carry out. This experience is more about the scents and less about design which was a little bit of a bummer to my little artistic soul. It would be cool if there were dyes to mess with the color of the candles and different shaped bases for the actual candle. The scent palette was amazing though and mixing the scents was interesting. Like playing chemist ;).

This place is wonderful. We had such a great time making candles. We went on a Sunday around 1pm and we were the only group in there making candles. It was a really nice experience. The lady that helped us was so kind. All the scents were all very different and it was fun to create a candle of my own.

This was a fun experience for two people. You each get a candle and it's $40 each so that was a very pricey. In Orlando I can get it for $10 cheaper and a way more nicer candle. This candle was very basic looking the scents were pretty good. They have a lot of fresh scents and a few diverse scents if that is your flavor. There are some colored pencils and markers for your label that you can create. It's kind of weird that they allow you to bring your own drinks. I feel like at least water should be provided they could do a little stuff like that. It is a very small place but it's cute and the staff were friendly and helpful. But they did not tell us how long it would take. I have to ask them a lot of questions to see how they did it. You make the candle and let the candle sit for about 30 minutes so if you're required to just sit there, it would be nice if they had something else for entertainment, like some drinks to provide or better labels to make for your candle. Overall, it was a fun experience as always.

My husband and I were in town for our babymoon over Valentine's weekend and wanted to do a local activity. I found the MeltedGrape on Instagram and booked a time (on Valentine's day!) to make our own candles. Bianca is FANTASTIC. She is friendly, engaging, funny, and knows her scents! We went at 2:30 in the afternoon and had the whole place to ourselves for most of our time there. She spends focused time with you to explain the process and to work with you on selecting the scents for your customized candle. While the candle wax was setting, she had Valentine's-related activities for us to engage in while we waited, which made the experience even more fun. I highly recommend this activity, for couples or for a girls' day/night out! The place is BYOB, which is cool. Drinking glasses and bottled water were provided. Thank you Bianca for making a great time in Savannah even more memorable!

Such a fantastic experience! On a girls trip my four friends and I were searching for a fun activity and stumbled upon candle making. We had a great time smelling a variety (50+) scents and choosing a couple to make our candles. We each designed a sticker and named our scent. Would highly recommend a night with Bianca at her adorable storefront.

If I could give 100 stars, I would. Our experience at Common Restaurant (specifically The Room) was…read moretruly exceptional. We were looking for a small, intimate, and beautiful space to host our micro-wedding celebration, and after reaching out to many places in downtown Savannah, The Room at Common stood out immediately. When we did our site visit, it was exactly what we had envisioned and more. The space is beautifully decorated inside a historic Savannah building and offers thoughtful features like a Frame TV for slides or welcome messages, private restrooms, a private bar, and the ability to play your own music (which is rare for a small venue and comes without extra charges). Leah was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. She responded to our initial inquiry almost immediately, something that really stood out since many other venues took days or even weeks to reply. From the first email to the site visit and all the communication leading up to the event, she was incredibly helpful and reassuring. As someone who works in hospitality and tends to be a bit of a "controller," it meant a lot to feel confident that everything was in good hands. On the day of our celebration, everything was beyond what we imagined. The space looked beautiful, and we were greeted so warmly. Sammy, our server, was attentive and fun, and the bartender was fantastic as well. And the food... absolutely incredible. Every dish exceeded expectations. Our guests are still talking about it weeks later. The oysters were incredibly fresh, the steak was outstanding, and the fried cornbread, fish dip, and cheesecake were unforgettable. A huge thank you to the Executive Chef (who even came out to greet us) and the entire kitchen team. Every member of the team made us feel cared for and ensured we had everything we needed. They truly embody the meaning of Southern hospitality. Thank you all for making our day so special. My husband and I already say that if we ever renew our vows or host another celebration, we'll absolutely be coming back.

This is the place you must decide to have your next private event in the near future. Let's talk…read moreabout a beautiful historic intimate location in the heart of downtown Savannah with the charm and sophisticated architecture that an elegant event would bring. The Room at Common is top notch and believe me there is absolutely nothing common here. Let's give a moment of respect to the Executive Head Chef Shawn and his entire accompanying staff whose impeccable attention to detail in every dish that exited his kitchen demonstrated the depth and ability of everyone who had a hand in slicing, cutting, baking, and curating the most delectable dishes I have found in quite a while. You need an outlandish charcuterie board to get you in the mood to begin the eating festival. The sliders had the perfect texture and the bread was tenderly placed with a delicate sauce. The tomato basil soup in a bread bowl was like heaven. The fried green tomatoes were also a favorite. The short ribs with the smothered collard greens and the cornbread were on an another planet of goodness. You want fresh local oysters on the half shelf pulled from the water only hours ago, well they got you right in house with them lying on ice and a professional shucker right there to serve you with a beautiful smile. Did I mention the dessert bar? Freshly baked cookies, macaroons, mini red velvet cake shooters, lemon puff pastries, mini cheesecakes, and other treats that would leave the sweetest sweet tooth, toothless. The food was Southern, but wound up a notch. It was not boring. It was not common. If you're in Savannah for a work conference or need a place to meet to discuss business with your team, host a holiday party, or have a small wedding reception, do not skip The Room at Common. One thing I appreciate is how attentive the staff is to each guest. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. You feel as if you're one of the family coming to visit. The cocktails are delicious. The wine selection is fantastic and carefully crafted with an experienced sommelier in house. I'm telling you that you will kick yourself if you don't have you people call Leah Ralph to book your event. The food and drinks will make your folks love you forever!
