Taking a look at the high prices here makes me wonder how the students who shop here ever made into college to begin with. In my mind this is one of those college book and sundry stores (Yes, they even sell overprice pillows for your dorm room) that takes advantage of the uneducated consumer. I only hope the kids I saw here putting everything on their parents plastic get some remedial consumer training courses. If you overlook the high prices, the long, long, slow, slow checkout lines, the overly geek staff at the computer counter and the woosie student Millennials sucking lavender latte through a straw at the in house SCAD Cafe 78, Ex Libris Bookstore is rather nice. It's very well laid out and has totally on point unique décor for a bookstore being pillar columns of books; mostly Federal Reporter law books. It both dates and pains me to note that when I was in college the Federal Reporters were some of the most need and most expensive books on the planet. Now, they're junk, rendered obsolete and worthless by the likes of LexisNexis and other computer related services and programs.

Third floor: rows and rows of paper! Sketchbooks, sheets of watercolor paper, foam board, rolls of paper.

A bit pricey but it has a lot of cool SCAD items and supplies neatly designed by what floor you're in.

The staff was super helpful and knowledgeable, taking the time to answer questions and point me in the right direction without making it feel rushed. You can tell they really care about art and helping customers. The whole place had a creative, welcoming vibe that made me want to stay longer and browse. Easily one of the best spots in Savannah for art supplies and I'll definitely be back.

A True Gem in Savannah's Art Scene…read more I had the most incredible experience at Blick Art Materials on Broughton while preparing for a watercolor class hosted by my apartment complex. Since I've also been gearing up to launch my own watercolor portrait series for Etsy, I was super excited to gather the right supplies. I came in with a list and a lot of enthusiasm... but also zero clue where to start! Enter Manda, an absolute angel who just knew I needed a little guidance. She kindly circled back to check on me, and I'm SO glad she did. Her warm smile and extensive knowledge made me feel instantly at ease. She gave me a full-on watercolor masterclass right there in the aisle--explaining the types of brushes best suited for portraits, the difference between synthetic and natural hairs, and even how brush length affects technique. Who knew short handles are better for control? She did! When it was time for her to clock out, she passed me on to Cesar, whose calm and caring energy made me feel like I was in expert hands. He's basically the Watercolor Whisperer! Cesar broke down everything--from starter vs pro-level watercolor sets to the difference between cold-pressed and hot-pressed paper textures. Even when other customers waited nearby for his help, he made sure I was fully taken care of before moving on. That level of customer service is rare and deeply appreciated. And let me not forget Chaylei, the radiant cashier with the cutest nose ring and a great sense of humor. Her energy was so fun and light, and she had me cracking up at the register when she found out Cesar's watercolor wizardry. The whole checkout experience felt more like chatting with friends than just making a purchase. The store itself is bright, well-stocked, and gives off a cozy, artist-hangout vibe. You can tell that everyone who works here is passionate about their craft and genuinely cares about helping people explore their creativity. If you're in Savannah--whether you're a SCAD student, an amateur artist, or just curious--this is the only place you need to go. Manda, Cesar, and Chaylei turned what could've been an overwhelming trip into a beautiful, inspiring one. I'll absolutely be back... again and again!

They also have classes. Their prices are comparable with other independent fabric shops in Savannah. I really like this store. People come together and bring their sewing machines. Good way to be with people who sew .

Having been married to a hobby seamstress and quilt maker I'm quite used to getting the statement…read more'lets go look at fabric at a quilting store.' Today was no exception, so being new to the area, I consulted YELP and found this store that above all, looked like fun. Now, not being the shopper of all things quilting like my wife, I always pray for a store that's got enough variety and surprises so that I can get entertainment while the 'shopper' works. As we entered 'Sew Much More' I scanned around and found a plethora of items most of which we'd never before seen, including selling and servicing sewing machines they carry. New too, to the embroidering machines and services they offer. I engaged one of the ladies who was cutting fabric, a sure sign she worked here! Asking a question about if they had Singer light bulbs, which I knew was on our list, I was directed to speak with the owner, Bonnie. My wife came over and we started chatting about all things sewing. Fabrics a-plenty, templates and some of the most interesting threads in a true rainbow of colors. While all things sewing and quilting are indeed the main courses here the also have an array of educational classes and instruction available as well as someone who does quilt finishing if you need that. What really accentuated the fulfillment of their name is when we learned that the customers themselves are all co-contributors to the projects of each other if advice is desired, or ideas invited those needs will be quickly satisfied! On some days customers congregate, bringing their own sewing machines and work in progress and the customers/friends and compatriots in this craft. Be sure...Sew Much More is everything non-commercial and spiritually warming in addition to the usual needlecraft needs. It's MUCH, MUCH more.
