Stopped by Mel's Marine today to get a steering rod for my outboard and they didn't have the part and would have to order it for me. I recognized a man who had helped me with the same part several years ago and told him the same part had broke again. He told me several years ago that don't be surprised if it happens again. He even installed the part on my boat for me. After I told him my story this year he looked again for the part and couldn't find it but told me he would look to see if he had a used part I could buy. I just had a brand new Suzuki 250 SS installed on my 2005 Triton I went with Mel's Marine for one reason they were more knowledgeable than anybody. I had talked to. They put me in the right direction. They got me the motor in my budget install went beautiful. They did a nice job on everything. All my electronics are working. Nothing was tampered with or unhooked. He even threw in an extra GPS pocket no charge all the work that he performed as perfect. I love my old new boat thanks to Tony and his team. I would not hesitate to do business with them again and I would highly recommend them. We recently bought a new bow rider from Mel's Marine. We live in Seattle, so Tony drove 5 hours from Eugene, Or to deliver it to us. The boat arrived in perfect condition. We are also new boaters, so Tony spent over 2 hours to teach us! He showed us how to set up the boat/trailer, launch the boat, drive the boat in the water, and pull out the boat and set it on the trailer. He was an amazing teacher and gave us lots of tips and hints. We've since taken the boat out at least 6 times this year (we just got it at the end of August) and definitely wouldn't have been able to do so without Tony's help and teachings. read more

My son was in dire need of a motor for his bass boat. Not only did Tony and his crew have the motor in stock, but they installed it and changed the controls before the time promised. Horrible service. Arrogant jerks. Ripped our cover for our boat and then tried to say it was like that already. Drained the battery so it was dead when we picked it up. The inside of the boat was filthy as well as the outside and they put 4 hours on our boat, just to check fluid levels. They didn't even service the boat. Skip this place, don't give them your money or leave your property with them, they will ruin it. Horrible horrible customer service. read more

I shopped all over the northwest for a pontoon boat for our family that could be adapted for a wheelchair user. Mel's staff made it happen. Mel's is a family run shop that treats you like family. Kelli was a joy to work with and owner Bud has years of experience. He designed a clever Minn Kota powered anchor system that enables a wheelchair user to deploy the anchor from the helm. All of the complicated installation issues involved in the project were handled by Ryan. Ryan has his Coast Guard 6PAK and guides so he knows boats. He delivered the boat to our slip on a local lake with all the technical, bluetoothed set-up stuff done and working. I was told 2 to 3 weeks to inspect and get my boat ready after winter, 5 weeks later they still hadn't even looked at my boat and we were leaving on a week long vacation that I had told them about from the beginning. I had even checked in three times beforehand to be sure I would get the boat and was told either by the end of the week or next week. If you use these people be prepared to wait. read more

Just bought a Sun Tracker Bass Buggy 18, made the trip from Medford to Eugene. I think the name of this company is a bit deceiving, it is really a large operation with a million dollar Showroom and modern service facility. They have the full spectrum of boats, from super high end bass boats to affordable pontoon boats. I guess the most important part was the service, from the very beginning they made it clear they wanted my business. I worked with two people there, Kyle Lemmon in sales and then Kelli Baldovinos in documentation. Both were excellent and made the boat buying experience that much better. Probably the worst service I have ever received from a service company. Dropped my boat off in August and the boat was not complete till may . During the time Mel's had my boat the boat cover was destroyed and somehow they blamed me for the cover getting completely destroyed from rain collecting in it and ripping to pieces . Not to mention I never received a call to let me know my boat was exposed to the elements of the winter weather till it was time for my boat to get picked up. When they did contact me and let me know my boat trailer and gel coat repair was complete , I arrived to find the gel coat repair was less than complete and my brand new black trailer had white overspray all over it. It took a couple more times for them to get it right and getting it right they did not . read more

I left my boat at this place on consignment this last winter. It was never advertised for sale. I spoke with them several times asking why it wasn't advertised. Each time I was promised that my boat would be advertised. It never was. At the end of the winter I was ready to put my boat in the lake. I was notified that the inside of my boat was covered in black mold. They said it needed to be pressure washed and that it would cost $500. I had purchased a cover two years ago and have never had this problem before. It was obvious the cover was never put on the boat. There are scratches on the Fiberglas from birds. The Bimini is so faded it's almost white! And the cover does not look worn and used like after the first year it was used. They swear they put the cover on. I might be naive but I'm not stupid. They never put that cover on. But they know I can't prove it. Shame on them! read more

Went in for a Service repairs they had my boat there for three weeks.They said, in the first place the boat was just a week out from being repaired. Never once did they even try or attempt to look at our boat. My wife called each Monday to confirm of when repairs would conclude so we could pick the boat up. They would reply we would be next in line to have the boat serviced. When I finally said, this was enough after they got nasty with my wife. I got this nasty lecture from the Service Person how they serve their customers first like I was a fly on wall paper. He then said, he didn't know who told her each time when she called of when the boat was going in the shop. Then I had to wait for 1/2 hour for them to get my boat out which was behind five other boats. I would not recommend this establishment for any repairs at any time very non professional. this repair shop will make you not trust another repair shop again,! After having to make a deposit and wait over three weeks just so they will grace you by letting you drop off your boat , then i was very clear about what i wanted them to do and how much I would be able to spend , and if anything would change that I would like a call -even made them write it on work order, well sure enough they did what they wanted and disregarded what I said , never once gave me a call , went over the cap that I gave them by $200 dollars , but the worst thing is the hey you are lucky we don't keep your boat and charge you what we want to get it back attitude that you get if you say anything about these problems . in the end I had to pay what they demanded and take my licks ,,, And Worst Of All They Didn't Fix The Boat read more
