Last year, I was at a point of frustration with my breasts and pulled info for 2 surgeons. Two appointments were made with both surgeons and fortunately, the first appointment was scheduled with Dr. Lisa Hwang. I was nervous and anxious but I was ready for a change. After my initial consultation, Dr. Lisa Hwang who listened to my concerns/ wishes and answered all my many questions. She also presented all my options, reviewed the whole process step by step to post surgery recovery schedule and after conversing through it all, I felt confident I found my surgeon to do my boob job and scheduled surgery date a couple of weeks later. Surgery Day - I was ready! I was excited and had anxiety, too. Once Dr. Hwang walked into the room, I became calm and relieved where she started to outline my breasts for surgical prep. I had confidence in Dr Hwang's attention to detail and she truly understood what I wanted in the final results and executed it on point. Post Surgery - I will not lie that I was in discomfort, cried, struggled and hated most my restricted sleep position as part of the healing process but had to follow through on doctors instructions. Dr. Hwang was amazing. We were communicating daily via text and via the secure web platform where I uploaded breast pics, too. I felt I was in genuine care with Dr. Hwang and her responses were exactly what I needed - prompt, thoughtful, thorough and clear. I did experience a hiccup in the healing process for a breast a few weeks post surgery which is not uncommon and had to undergo a mini surgery to remedy the issue which was completed in her office. After this procedure, the healing went much more smoothly and without altering the breast aesthetic too much for it to be noticeable. It's 7 months post surgery and I'm so pleased with the final results and so is my longtime boyfriend, too! I'm so happy and in I love that my breasts have enhanced my body silhouette. I can see my waistline! My story: I started seeing Dr. Kokinos more than a year ago and have spent thousands of dollars for her to cosmetically correct my varicose and spider veins. My legs now look worse than before and I am left scarred On my very first sclerotherapy session she used a foam sclerotherapy solution. I developed an ulcer on my leg which left a large scar. When she saw it she said "I used too high of concentration in the solution" and then changed to a weaker solution after. She admitted it was her fault. It is more than obvious that when first doing sclero treatment she should have worked here way up with concentration instead of leaving me permanently scarred. Even though there are potential side affects with hyper-pigmentation and ulcers these are avoidable when the correct concentration is used. The weaker solution did not give me any further ulcers, but it did not help either. I have since been seen by another vascular office that confirmed the ulcer and scarring was from the concentration and I have since written to Dr. Kokinos several times in order to resolve this. To date she has not responded to provide a resolution (other than returning for additional treatments which is not an option) for the scarring (which is permanent and cannot be changed) , ineffective treatments, and the additional expense of having to seek another facility for treatment. I highly encourage others to be very careful in selecting a doctor for these types pf procedures. The next step for me is to file suit in court which will be done at the end of the month if she does not respond with a resolution. Definitely not what I had expected to have to do. My process lasted several years and included multiple consultations. (At no point did I feel pressured into having surgery.) Part of my motivation for seeking out Dr. Zeidler was that I wanted to support her practice, once I learned that one of her specialties was breast reconstruction for women who have suffered from BRCA gene mutation and cancer. In hindsight, I think that this ended up benefiting me, because some techniques that normally might be employed in reconstruction were utilized in my surgery. Specifically, I had a subfascial placement with a durasorb mesh. I think that the mesh was one key to my fantastic outcome. I also think that going subfascial, instead of submuscular, allowed for an easy recovery as well as a natural-feeling result. In addition to my Sientra 305cc mod+ implants, I had fat transfer to my breasts, which I think helped in achieving nice cleavage and good symmetry. The whole process from start to my follow-up care was 5-star. Recovery was a piece of cake. My results were much better than I hoped for! I should mention: I am a transgender patient. Surgery was completely life-changing for me, in a very positive way. In my entire life, I was never happy about my body. After surgery, I have been instantly happy, every time that I look in the mirror, before I have time to even *think* about it. This aspect has been extremely affirmational to me, which has led to an increase in my day-to-day confidence. When I initially had my surgery quotation, I had some sticker-shock at the price.
