Had a great time visiting this great pizza spot for the first time. Located in New Albany, Ohio it was my first time attending but all of my friends had been before. The pizza was so great I actually forgot to take pictures...Ha-Ha! Just know that the pizza was really good. We got half pepperoni and half mighty meaty with Mellow red sauce, pepperoni, Italian sausage, ground beef, honey ham, applewood-smoked bacon, and mozzarella. Everything was hot and fresh! It wasn't overly salty which I loved. Definitely worth checking out! read more

Cute spot in New Albany that is family friendly and has plenty of outdoor seating. We chose this for the certified gluten free option since we have a family member with Celiacs. She wasn't impressed with the crust - but it wasn't bad, just bland and a little tough. The regular pizza crust we had was perfect - chewy, baked right, tasty. You can watch them toss and stretch the crust in the kitchen. The Taco Nirvana beef pizza was excellent with a great spicy ranch drizzle. Could use a little more meat. We loved the Merry Prankster - the sausage is spiced perfectly and it has great herbed aioli. Service was friendly and prompt. We will be back. read more

Haven't dined at a Mellow Mushroom for a long time. This trip in we decided to do something different, we brought our dogs. Having two small dogs we decided to seat ourselves on the patio. Leaving dogs with my husband I went inside to let them know we sat ourselves, inform them we had two dogs with us and see if this was all okay. It was received very well by the staff. Hostess gathered menus and I showed her where we were The patio is narrow. Single row of tables wrap in an L shaped pattern. We were one of two tables in the front vs more along the side of the building. Zoe, our server soon came out. We discussed pizzas and learned they could make my favorite pizza even though it is no longer on the menu... however we decided to go with a modified current one. It was delicious. The crust is whole wheat salt water based... so you feel as if the choice to eat pizza is a bit more healthy. However the dough is billowy and not edge to edge so it has nice crust. They used a LOT of cheese which is a plus for taste but not for health... but this is pizza--- you really dont order that as a "healthy choice". We added the mushroom trio... there could of been a bit more of that for the upcharge but Id say there was a fair amount on the pizza. Zoe checked on us regularly and made our dogs comfortable by bringing them water and giving them praise and fuss. The pizza came out quickly which was nice as it started out pretty hot on the patio and the dogs weren't digging the heat. These dogs appreciate that always! The pizza was delicious. I ordered the pacific rim specialty pizza on gluten free crust. The gluten free pizza only comes in a small so that's what I got. I omitted the jalapeños, which left mozzarella,ham, bacon, pineapple and caramelized onions. It was great! We used to love going to mellow mushroom but the last two experiences were terrible. We went on a Tuesday night and there were maybe 4 other tables filled but a lot of staff working. It took awhile to get our food and when the salad arrived it was brown and should have been thrown out. We were not given any utensils to share the large salad and no one to flag down to ask. It's so easy to make a good house salad with fresh crisp greens, but unfortunately Mellow Mushroom covered the brown lettuce with cheese and toppings maybe hoping we wouldn't see the soggy, not so fresh lettuce underneath. Threw out half of a $12.00 salad. Love their pizza but wish they could be as consistent with all of the menu items. read more

I am a HUGE Mellow Mushroom fan. I LOVE their pizza crust. My favorite thing to get here is the Parmesan pretzels! Yum yum yum!!! They are made from the dough of the crust of the pizza. I could eat so many of these. One of my favorite pizzas to get is the Kosmic Karma. I love pesto, tomatoes, and cheese. And did I mention that I love their crust? I ordered for pickup at 635. Was in the area at lunchtime and starving so my husband and I stopped there. It was about 2 pm on a Saturday but not too busy. We decided to share a medium pie - 1/2 mushroom and 1/2 pepperoni. Our server was very sweet and friendly.The restaurant decor was cute and it was very clean. Even the restroom was clean but both automatic soap dispensers were either out of soap or just didn't work. Now about that pizza. We really wanted to love it but.....it was an ok pie , nothing special. There was just the right amount of cheese and sauce which was neither sweet or savory. I prefer a crispier crust but not bad. Ot too thin not too thick. The biggest disappointment and dealbreaker was it wasn't served piping hot as expected and not served warm either. I always bring my adult children here when they are in town. Seems this is an annual visit for us. They like the atmosphere and grown up menu selection. They have long outgrown Chucky Cheese's and Ci Ci's. Mellow Mushrooms has Calzone and a decent alcohol selection amongst other upscale options. I got the Philly Cheese Steak Calzone. They all have ricotta cheese mixed with other cheese but I could taste it. The meat was tender and it was overall seasoned well. I'd say it was about the size of a medium pizza folded over and I had enough to share or take home for leftovers. The service was good and she checked on us regularly. My only complaint would be that none of the front end floor staff was wearing masks. This must be a New Albany thing because everywhere else I go restaurant staff wear masks regardless of position. All in all we enjoyed our lunch and will be back the next time the kids are in town or sooner. read more

My son, grandson & I went there for father's day with 3 others and it totally exceeded expectations. Amazingly, they weren't very busy at midafternoon but we had an awesome server. If I could give it zero stars, I would. However, Yelp doesn't offer zero stars as an option. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT GO TO THE NEW ALBANY MELLOW MUSHROOM. THE SERVICE IS HORRENDOUS AND THE FOOD WAS NOT AS ORDERED. My wife and I went there this evening, and, for at least the second (I think third) time, the service was beyond atrocious. The place was NOT busy at all. Despite that fact, it took us an hour to get two personal sized pizzas, and when they finally brought the pizzas, mine was burnt and my wife's was missing the grilled chicken that she specifically ordered. The manager had no explanation for us and never apologized. He offered to re-make the pizzas himself, but by that time, we were done. Finished. The topper? The manager asked if I wanted to take the burned pizza with me. I looked at him and said, "It's burned. What am I supposed to do with a burned pizza?" I am astounded that the server, who was far more interested in socializing with his fellow servers than paying attention to us, even brought me out an obviously burned pizza. Only someone who wasn't paying any attention at all would have missed the fact that it was burned. Why he thought serving me an obviously burned pizza was acceptable is a complete and total mystery to me. We will never go there again. None of you should, either. read more

First, the atmosphere was really groovy & cool!! I appreciated the decor! That's a star by itself!!! Unfortunately sitting at our table, it was kinda dirty. The menus were sticky, most of the plates had sauce on the side still, the condiment shakers had old food dried on them & one of my guess had black things floating in her lemonade. Our server was very short on service. Waiting long on refills & she'd disappear for sometime. We ordered 4 large pizzas & two kid meals. Out of the three adults, one teenager & four kids; one adult, one teen & the kids really enjoyed the pizza! I'd certainly would go back but they should think about doing a better job with cleaning & certainly wiping the menus down. It took maybe 30+ minutes to get our pizzas out. I always tip regardless of the service. If the food is good & service slacked I'd still tip. I wanted to tip the server for good service but she didn't really give good service. To be completely honest, this place used to be so, so good. I returned to town for Christmas break and we had takeout Sunday night December 18th, and the food quality was terrible. The wings, which used to be amazing, were very chewy when they should be crispier. Buffalo chicken pizza was not anywhere near as good as I remember it being. I saw Mellow Mushroom released two new flavors - Backyard bbq, and Wild in Havana. They both sounded good, and I ordered half & half to try them at once. The store was really busy on a Friday night. I ordered ahead and did pick-up order. The store employee apologized for the weird shape of the pizza but promised that the topping amount was the same. I liked the backyard bbq side more. The pork was juicy and flavorful, and the red pepper added another layer of sweetness to the overall flavor and had a great balance. For the wild in Havana, I think the Cuban sandwich flavor was a little plain, and the pickles were a little overpowering the overall flavor. read more

I came tonight for a Shred415 run and pizza meet up at Mellow Mushroom. It's just what I needed from a long month of just depressing events occurring. I started off making several loops around Mellow Mushroom with my running partner and then we ventured in and the guys from Shred had ordered us the pepperoni pizza and shiitake mushroom pizza both were very good and very flavorful. I'm happy I was able to enjoy these carbs with these great instructors who lifted me up after a rough month. No one can say no to free pizza after running right? That's exactly why I showed up! It really got me out of my comfort zone and I'm happy I made the 30 minute commute here to enjoy a good pizza and beer with friends. Definitely coming back again to try more on the menu! read more

I know alot of people love their food but I do not. I tried it 3 times for pizza and I find their pizza sauce bitter and acidic. I asked for fresh garlic and couldn't taste anything but the sauce. The server was nice enough to bring me garlic but it wasn't fresh sautéed garlic. I ate 1/2 of one piece threw out rest. Not a fan of the artichoke cheese appetizer it was all cheese nothing else to taste. They used to have caprese on menu which I love but not there anymore. read more

Holy crap. I've been to this location a few times before but only ever got the wings or a salad and soup at lunch time. After trying for 20 minutes to find a place to eat at Polaris without an hour wait, we turned around and came back to our neck of Columbus, and thank goodness we did. We were able to get a table as soon as we walked in the door. Our server, Taelor, greeted us almost immediately. She was super kind and helpful -- very attentive even though it was clearly busy in the restaurant. Aside from her, the manager/owner was walking around the floor and checked in on our and others table to ensure everything was up to snuff. So on to the food part. I say again, holy crap. We got one of the small pizzas and split the toppings in half. One side was the buffalo chicken, and the other was the loaded potato pie. Both were PHENOMENAL. I would have never thought to put potatos/ bacon/ sour cream on a slice of pizza but here we are. Living the dream. Would highly recommend trying it. We also got an order of wings -- half sweet thai chili and the other half mild. Both were good sauces. Forewarning the sweet thai chili is definitely more sweet than chili, but still delicious. They seriously needs to fix their old beer problem. I tried this place for the first time with my family last night. The salad was just meh, the mushroom specialty pizza was really good, and I also really enjoyed the crust on the make your own pizza we also ordered. My son wasn't really a fan, and it was nice for my daughter to have a kids menu to choose from. The beer list seemed like a fairly decent selection. With January being Bell's Hoplslam annual release month, I ordered a Hopslam. I drank it and it seemed off, not the similar honey flavors I get each year. My wife had the Columbus Brewing Bohdi, which is also a great beer, but just tasted meh. The menu listed (2020) next to the Hopslam, and I asked the server if that was just a typo and that the Hopslam was this years (2022). She assured me it was, and I trusted her. I got home and cracked a fresh (2022) Hopslam from my refrigerator. That's when I realized 'Holy crap, this place is serving beer that is more than 2 years old **and charging full price.** ' This hop-forward beer, which should be served fresh within 6 months or less, has been sitting for 2 years. Management must have decided that it was too much money to lose and would rather sell their old crappy stale beer at $8 for 10 oz pour than miss out on profit for keeping an old keg of beer that has been sitting since before the pandemic. That is very disappointing, and I won't return here, because it only makes me wonder what other corners they cut. Update: I completely understand that beer tastes different from tap than it does in a can. If it was a typo, and if they are genuinely selling 2022 Hopslam, then I'm concerned about the last time they had their lines properly cleaned, because both the Bohdi and the Hopslam were off. Before ordering beers here, they should be able to tell you the last time the lines were cleaned, and if it's not within the last 3 months, find another place to eat. read more
