The atmosphere and vibes here are out of this world. The artwork on the walls is incredibly cool and really adds to the experience. The food was absolutely delicious -- we ordered the Super Pepp and loved every bite. Our bartender, Johnny, was the best. My fiancée mentioned it was her first time at Mellow Mushroom, and he went above and beyond to make sure she had an amazing experience. Johnny is polite, professional, and genuinely personable. Cute spot in New Albany that is family friendly and has plenty of outdoor seating. We chose this for the certified gluten free option since we have a family member with Celiacs. She wasn't impressed with the crust - but it wasn't bad, just bland and a little tough. The regular pizza crust we had was perfect - chewy, baked right, tasty. You can watch them toss and stretch the crust in the kitchen. The Taco Nirvana beef pizza was excellent with a great spicy ranch drizzle. Could use a little more meat. Haven't dined at a Mellow Mushroom for a long time. This trip in we decided to do something different, we brought our dogs. Having two small dogs we decided to seat ourselves on the patio. Leaving dogs with my husband I went inside to let them know we sat ourselves, inform them we had two dogs with us and see if this was all okay. It was received very well by the staff. Hostess gathered menus and I showed her where we were The patio is narrow. Single row of tables wrap in an L shaped pattern. We were one of two tables in the front vs more along the side of the building. Zoe, our server soon came out. We discussed pizzas and learned they could make my favorite pizza even though it is no longer on the menu... however we decided to go with a modified current one. It was delicious. The crust is whole wheat salt water based... so you feel as if the choice to eat pizza is a bit more healthy. However the dough is billowy and not edge to edge so it has nice crust. They used a LOT of cheese which is a plus for taste but not for health... but this is pizza--- you really dont order that as a "healthy choice". We added the mushroom trio... there could of been a bit more of that for the upcharge but Id say there was a fair amount on the pizza. Zoe checked on us regularly and made our dogs comfortable by bringing them water and giving them praise and fuss. The pizza came out quickly which was nice as it started out pretty hot on the patio and the dogs weren't digging the heat. These dogs appreciate that always! The pizza was delicious. My family and I were in mellow mushroom yesterday. we were sitting in a booth next to the kitchen line and a manager was using derogatory language towards an employee in front of everyone. The employee was not our server, but she looked about in tears after the manager was speaking to her like that and snatched a pizza out of her hands. This was very unprofessional to do this in front of all the customers instead of taking her to the back and having a 1 on 1 talk. The mangers actions ruined our whole experience. We used to love going to mellow mushroom but the last two experiences were terrible. We went on a Tuesday night and there were maybe 4 other tables filled but a lot of staff working. I am a HUGE Mellow Mushroom fan. I LOVE their pizza crust. My favorite thing to get here is the Parmesan pretzels! Yum yum yum!!! They are made from the dough of the crust of the pizza. Our server was very sweet and friendly.The restaurant decor was cute and it was very clean. Even the restroom was clean but both automatic soap dispensers were either out of soap or just didn't work. Now about that pizza. We really wanted to love it but.....it was an ok pie , nothing special. There was just the right amount of cheese and sauce which was neither sweet or savory. I prefer a crispier crust but not bad. Ot too thin not too thick. The biggest disappointment and dealbreaker was it wasn't served piping hot as expected and not served warm either. I always bring my adult children here when they are in town. Seems this is an annual visit for us. They like the atmosphere and grown up menu selection. They have long outgrown Chucky Cheese's and Ci Ci's. Mellow Mushrooms has Calzone and a decent alcohol selection amongst other upscale options. I got the Philly Cheese Steak Calzone. They all have ricotta cheese mixed with other cheese but I could taste it. The meat was tender and it was overall seasoned well. I'd say it was about the size of a medium pizza folded over and I had enough to share or take home for leftovers. The service was good and she checked on us regularly. My only complaint would be that none of the front end floor staff was wearing masks. This must be a New Albany thing because everywhere else I go restaurant staff wear masks regardless of position. All in all we enjoyed our lunch and will be back the next time the kids are in town or sooner. read more

The place was NOT busy at all. Despite that fact, it took us an hour to get two personal sized pizzas, and when they finally brought the pizzas, mine was burnt and my wife's was missing the grilled chicken that she specifically ordered. The manager had no explanation for us and never apologized. He offered to re-make the pizzas himself, but by that time, we were done. Finished. The topper? The manager asked if I wanted to take the burned pizza with me. I looked at him and said, "It's burned. What am I supposed to do with a burned pizza?" I am astounded that the server, who was far more interested in socializing with his fellow servers than paying attention to us, even brought me out an obviously burned pizza. Only someone who wasn't paying any attention at all would have missed the fact that it was burned. Why he thought serving me an obviously burned pizza was acceptable is a complete and total mystery to me. We will never go there again. None of you should, either. read more

I saw Mellow Mushroom released two new flavors - Backyard bbq, and Wild in Havana. They both sounded good, and I ordered half & half to try them at once. The store was really busy on a Friday night. I ordered ahead and did pick-up order. The store employee apologized for the weird shape of the pizza but promised that the topping amount was the same. I liked the backyard bbq side more. The pork was juicy and flavorful, and the red pepper added another layer of sweetness to the overall flavor and had a great balance. For the wild in Havana, I think the Cuban sandwich flavor was a little plain, and the pickles were a little overpowering the overall flavor. read more

I came tonight for a Shred415 run and pizza meet up at Mellow Mushroom. It's just what I needed from a long month of just depressing events occurring. I started off making several loops around Mellow Mushroom with my running partner and then we ventured in and the guys from Shred had ordered us the pepperoni pizza and shiitake mushroom pizza both were very good and very flavorful. I'm happy I was able to enjoy these carbs with these great instructors who lifted me up after a rough month. No one can say no to free pizza after running right? That's exactly why I showed up! It really got me out of my comfort zone and I'm happy I made the 30 minute commute here to enjoy a good pizza and beer with friends. Definitely coming back again to try more on the menu! read more

I know alot of people love their food but I do not. I tried it 3 times for pizza and I find their pizza sauce bitter and acidic. I asked for fresh garlic and couldn't taste anything but the sauce. The server was nice enough to bring me garlic but it wasn't fresh sautéed garlic. I ate 1/2 of one piece threw out rest.
