Southwestern Chicken Salad
Monica G.

I went here last night for the first time and really enjoyed myself. The parking lot is tiny, can maybe hold 20 cars or so but there's a parking garage directly across the street. We told the waiter it was our first time and he gave some suggestions. I ended up ordering the Southwestern chicken salad and the mighty meaty pizza. The salad was so DELICIOUS and the chicken was very flavorful and tender. The pizza was also very delicious and the crust had amazing flavor! The manager ended up coming to our table to introduce himself and thank us for coming in. Everyone was very nice, the place was very clean, and even the bathroom smelled amazing lol. Definitely going back!

Will definitely miss their presence in the downtown Decatur neighborhood. Pizza was good, service was decent, and drinks were strong.

The Holy Shitake Pizza with Garlic Parmesan Wings and Blue Cheese!

First time ever eating Mellow Mushroom Pizza was years ago on my job. They ordered several for safety achievements and I remember the pizzas being on the table not hot kind of warm when we arrived to taste and eat the pizza. After a different time I ordered a pizza from the same location in Tucker GA the area my job is located in the pizza was okay. I grew up on Pizza Hut so the pizza I received didn't blow my socks off I felt it was nothing to write home about. After that experience I didn't go back to the location for pizza. I really wanted to see what was the hype about this place and was I missing something. I drove past the Decatur GA location and I remember it being packed all of the time. I saw that they recently closed for renovations and opened back up. I looked at the menu on Uber Eats and I saw The Holy Shitake pizza.. I like mushrooms on pizza they taste good to me delicious and they are good for your mood. The presentation of the pizza is spectacular and I got blue cheese with some garlic parmesan wings oven baked I think I saw that. This is night and day my experience from the previous location. I know that this is a Atlanta GA staple since 1974. I was skeptic about the restaurant pizza before this time. The flavor and the taste of this pizza is delicious. They truly made a believer out of me! Instead of getting a hand tossed crust pizza I got a thin crust pizza which I enjoy because to me you taste the toppings more and the crust is not just a lot of dough. I got my pizza on 12-18-2025 it's worth it no disappointment! Pull up and check them out if you are unable use Uber Eats.

Couldn't find parking to go to the imperial pig restaurant so I came here

Lively, mellow mushroom atmosphere which I enjoy. Was in the house! I was greeted warmly and was served nicely at the bar. Unfortunately, what I ordered was not hot. I had the meatballs which comes with cheese sauce and basil flakes. It looks great but it's wasn't hot. I complained about it, but I was hungry and I was really supposed to have dinner at some Iberian pig place but couldn't find parking. Per you "make another plate" so I just ate that. I probably won't order it again unless I know it's hot.

The food was delicious. Now it did take too long for our apps to arrive....literally 20-30 wait. Not happy about that, we actually thought they forgot about us. But we order pretzel bites & spinach dip. And they were good. Then our pizzas arrived 15 mins later. The math wasn't matching on the time it took for our overall orders. Service: Jacob was AWESOME. He apologized for the wait and was on it for all our needs. Overall surroundings were amazing. We sat outside on this bright, sunny, Georgia humid day and we loved it.

I dont remember the names of these drinks

This was our 2nd attempt to come here at this particular location. The 1st time was busy and they advised they aren't seating ppl. Okay cool. This time its a 30 minute wait. I looked around and saw empty booths but okay. Im hungry so we decide to wait. Our server was a nice young lady & very helpful. I mentioned it was my 1st time here so I wasn't sure what to try. I decided on a hoagie because when I saw it I immediately thought of some good hoagies from Philly. He ordered a house special meaty pizza (gluten free) and wings. I tried a slice and it was good. It was so much on it I barely noticed the mushrooms i don't like. My hoagie wasn't what I expected. It was good but not what I was looking for. I had a strawberry drink which i don't recall the name of it. The strawberries they topped it off with were good n fresh. I wish i had more of them. The drink i cant really comment on because it came with a paper straw. Paper straws ruins everything. Overall I didn't get the hype of this franchise and more than likely wont return.

The cheesy bread here is not as good as the other MM's. Low on cheese. They should've called it "kinda cheesy bread".

My sister and I split the Gaucho and the Yellowfin Tuna Melt (~$20 each). Pricey for sandwiches, but the quality is there. The Gaucho is packed with meat, almost too much, so the combo with chips helps balance things out. The Tuna Melt was the clear winner, Calabrian chilies with the tuna salad was a great call, though the bread-to-filling ratio could use some work. Overall, both sandwiches are delicious but could use some ratio tweaking. I'll be back to work through the rest of their rotating menu.

So, I typically end up with the Gaucho which can beat aplenty of steak sandwiches I've had before. It's always packed with meat, really tender, but also flavorful you can tell a lot of care goes into the proteins they prepare also, they're using some high-end bread with it coming from Alon's. I mean, go there for any pastry and you'll see what I'm talking about. Another staple item for myself when I go is the fisherman fries, the thick wedges are the perfect pair with a good sandwich opposed to some boring chips, and the fact they come with tartar sauce is really exciting to me. It's something you wouldn't expect to go with your potato companion, but it works with the old bay and the lemon delicious barely want to eat chips with my subs anymore having after that. Also, for the first time I got a slush in my mind I was mentally prepared to enjoy the kiwi one, but what I got was a plum flavored one that in my mind was probably even better and fitting for Fall. It was so good. I've never had this combination as a frozen drink, but now I need it again and spiked so I know where to go. Now, sadly, on this trip there was a bit of bad/disappointment which, of course, is not the norm for me here! We decided to try out the cold, cut sandwich, which seemed kind of like a play on an Italian and first and foremost that thing is wet. It was dripping and saucy. I'm assuming due to a vinegar which is standard for that type of sandwich but I didn't really find it enjoyable. Also, there was a small hair in it. My friend personally was willing to look past it and chow down, but me I could not so he braved it. Also, I have to say I had my most disappointing item here the French onion dip, and maybe that goes to show that I just don't like things that would be an accompaniment to chips either when I'm here, but I think it was just a bit strange to serve it with bread as the side the flavor was nice, but it's just not something. I think I'd be willing to try out again.I think the girl working the register also might've been a bit newer. She had a lot of difficulty explaining items to us on the menu which was OK, but just something to know; maybe go with some expectation of what you might enjoy. Overall, like I said, I have a favorite I'll always go back for it, but might stick to that from now on for parking, it's limited in the direct area, but you could park in the Marta parking right next-door and it's a very short walk that's easy to traverse - fantastic way to walk a bit after a good meal!

It's adjacent to a parking deck and small. Very cozy, though! The menu is simple and it was a one-man show that day (other staff had left due to closing). LOVED IT! The coleslaw was really good and the Sammie was probably one of the freshest I've had. We had to wait a bit due to it being just him but worth the wait. I did the hot chick ... yeah, I can get away with saying that ... and it was huge, overflowing, tender and fresh. This is a SOLID spot. I was told they'd be re-opening nearby and I hope that's the case. They were BUSY as well so it's clearly not a customer issue. Check them out when they re-open. Simple and amazing!

Ok listen, this spot is in the cut wedged between Bank of America and the back of Cornerstone Bank. It has about 7 booths and 4 tables (mostly 2 tops). Customer service is warm and friendly, it always feels like you've known the guys working for years. Now the food...O.M.G. My favorite is the ATL chick which is juicy fried chicken breast tossed in buffalo sauce and... ANNNND... lemon pepper. Cmon. We're in ATL. What other way is there?! Then it has ranch drizzled on top and dressed how you want... lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle. Even the bread is yummy. The sweet potato fries are crispy and airy and go great with the comeback sauce which is whatever smoky heavenly concoction they came up with as a sauce. Listen if you're in downtown Decatur... Do yourself a favor and get here! There is street parking available and you can pay by app or at the meter. It's about $2 for an hour. They also serve salads, other sandwiches, and breakfast. Small collection of beer, wine, and cocktails.

I remember back in 2020 the owner telling me that they had the LEIDENHEIMER bread flown in from New Orleans weekly. I do believe the bread on a Po'boy makes all the difference. I've tried quite a few Po'boys from here. I've had the grouper, chicken tender and the shrimp, but my absolute favorite is the cheeseburger Po'boy. The burger blend that they use is so good. The remoulade sauce definitely takes it up a notch, but I prefer my Poboy with mayonnaise and they can make it that way. I've never eaten upstairs but downstairs is huge. There's a really big bar. There's a lot of high top table seating. They have arcade games. It's just a great space to enjoy time with your friends. There's plenty of TVs to watch any of the sports games that are on. The bartenders are nice and they really take care of you. Honestly, I think there's something for everyone on the menu. They also have desserts, but I'm not a big fan of the ones that they have. I think the bread pudding is too sweet. Now, if they added a brownie with praline sauce and pecans and bourbon ice cream that would be amazing. Some of my photos are from 2020 to the present.

WHO DAT in Atlanta!…read more As a lifelong New Orleans Saints fan living in the Atlanta area, I genuinely appreciate finding an official Saints bar that actually pairs the game-day atmosphere with New Orleans-style food. The Po'Boy Shop in Decatur does exactly that. I had visited before and tried a few different po'boys to go, and they were great, but this time I decided to stay and watch the Saints game. That completely changed the experience for me. The atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for--Saints fans, good energy, football on the TVs, New Orleans food, and a crowd that was actually invested in the game. It felt like a legitimate gathering spot for the Who Dat Nation rather than simply a restaurant that happens to show football. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the restaurant was clean and comfortable, and once again, the po'boys delivered. It's hard to beat watching the Saints with other fans while eating a good New Orleans-style po'boy hundreds of miles away from Louisiana. What I appreciate most is that The Po'Boy Shop gives Saints fans around Atlanta a place that actually feels like our spot on game day. Win or lose, that kind of atmosphere makes watching the game more enjoyable. Good food. Great staff. Great atmosphere. And plenty of Saints energy. I'll absolutely be back--especially on game days--and highly recommend The Po'Boy Shop to anyone looking for New Orleans-style food or fellow Saints fans searching for a home away from the Dome in the Atlanta area. WHO DAT!
