8th Chakra Studio - The altar

8th Chakra Studio

(30 reviews)

This place saved my life…read more I found 8th Chakra Studio while searching to try out Kambo after getting COVID in the fall of 2020. I was in that isolated funky haze, extremely depressed and didn't know where to turn. To be honest, it probably took me over 3 months from me first reaching out about a Kambo session until I built up the courage to try Kambo. I'm so happy I made the decision to try Viva Kambo over all the others - you can tell Devajeet (the owner) is very comfortable working with this medicine and is passionate about honoring this ancient medicine in a safe and sacred space. I decided to try a private ceremony the first time, so that I could ask him as many questions as I wanted and so that I could experience this new, unknown thing away from strangers. I'll tell you now...Kambo is not fun. It is one of the most unpleasant things I've ever done in my life, but no place of change comes from a place of comfort, right? However, the way I felt after was incredible. I felt beat up, but I felt a hope I hadn't felt in a long time. The next day I went on a walk and it felt like a dark weight lifted off my shoulders. I was hooked. I came back the next week for a Saturday group ceremony, and ended up doing 6 ceremonies in total within 2 months. The power of the group setting is remarkable. Everyone setting their intention together helps me bring in healing in areas I wasn't thinking about at the time, but know I needed when it was mentioned. Working with Viva Kambo has introduced me to other medicines like Hape and Sananga eye drops. These are powerful tools I have implemented in my regular routine. One of the greatest things I was introduced to though was Kundalini Yoga. They have classes on Thursdays & Sundays and they are next level. My favorite thing about 8th Chakra Studio though are their sound baths. Holy moly! I never knew what I was missing. They only happen every once in a while, but I try to make every one I can. It's like a massage of sound vibrations that sends you on a trancendental journey through sacred rhythms and grooves. So freaking epic. Definitely check this place out.

After receiving Kambo for 4 separate timeframes within a couple months time I had gone for feminine, family, self healing of body, mind, and spirit. As for my boyfriend Salvador he has often gone there for Kambo as well for Kundalini yoga. I am now healthier, more at peace, more importantly where I am meant to be, led to be in an amazing relationship with Salvador bringing positive changes into my life, and me for his as as well. I thank everyone at 8th Chakra Studio.

The space feels so warm and welcoming the moment you walk in, and I love that the yoga classes are heated, it just adds to the whole experience. The staff was very friendly when I checked in, which always makes a difference, especially when it's your first time somewhere. A quick heads up: The studio is a little hard to find at first. It's located inside a business complex in a suite (not a standalone storefront). I parked in the lot across from Mud Hen Clay & Art Studio and found the stairs there that lead up to the studio. I'd recommend arriving a bit early so you have time to find parking and get settled. Also, the restroom is a shared community bathroom with the other suites in the complex, so just keep that in mind. I took a Hatha/Vinyasa class with Kimberly on a Saturday morning and it was great. The flow felt balanced and grounding. This was my first time here and my first impression was such a good one. I'd love to come back.

I enjoyed that she explained which areas/ muscles were being stretched/ focused on with each pose. Kim also offered modifications for each pose- THANK YOU SO MUCH! There's all levels of fitness and having modifications, allows everyone to participate- regardless of fitness level/ experience with doing yoga. The restorative yoga truly is for all levels, beginners included! The ambiance was perfect. I loved the dim lighting, the relaxing music, smell of incense, the feel of wind on your face, and the tranquil noises during the yoga. Kim created an entire experience. Blocks, straps and pillows were provided. Cons: The studio is hard to find. My gps took me around the block a couple times. I was looking for a building. It's definitely a suite in a building with lots of other businesses. It's on the second floor, in the corner. It's an older looking building with a lot of corporate looking businesses. There's parking in the back. Hard to find, but once you know- you know. 10/10 yoga class!

The Sanctuary Wellness Center & Yoga Studio

I have been curious about Sanctuary Wellness Center & Yoga Studio for a long time now. I was so…read moreexcited to see an opening for Aerial Yoga during a time I was available. I made sure to arrive early... especially when there was this excerpt on the class that says, "Arriving late, even unintentionally can take away from others - their peace, focus, and time". The parking lot was hard to find. I actually had to circle it a few times before finding it, and parking in their back lot. I entered from the back door and made my way through the front to check in with the owner. I checked in early. I signed in. I SIGNED THE WAIVER. The owner was going to give me a studio tour but she kept getting busy with other things. That's fine, not an issue. Their studio space is small. For aerial, there are 9 silks, so 1 for the instructor and 8 for the students. The front left is a bit close to some equipment so the teacher took that spot when it got busy. The spacing is a bit tight, and can cause students to bump into each other if they are not mindful. Also the studio is off a busy street and I can hear the cars driving by, so it could be more relaxing. Come early! Especially with aerial. It is important to adjust the silks where the bottom is at your pelvic height. A lot of the students did not come in until the start of class time, and the instructor still had to lower the silks and then adjust it to their height. OUR CLASS STARTED 10 MINUTES LATE. I don't blame the instructor because they can't turn away their students... but that is 10 minutes wasted from my time even though I was early and prepared. The aerial class itself was a great work out. A bit on the basic end of aerial yoga. I know the instructor mentioned she designs it based on the level of the class and we had some folks who were first timers so the instructor went easy on us. The owner offered to take pictures for us, but she went away. The instructor was nice to take photos too, but her yoga skills are definitely better than her photography skills. In one of the photos where my face and body shaped looked the best, she had her whole thigh in it. Sigh. We were 3 minutes from class ending time and we didn't even get into the silks for a cocoon savasana. At that point I just left cause it didn't seem like we would be doing the savasana or anything. What annoyed me the most ... is receiving a messaging telling me I didn't sign a waiver and that I need to sign one next time. WOW !! I came early... signed the waiver... had my time wasted... and now I get this email telling me I didn't sign the waiver. Before receiving that message I was in the air about coming back. But after seeing that message I was so annoyed. I am not coming back... It would have been more tactful to wait for me to come back and ask me at that time to sign if they misplaced the last one. I work out to relax but this whole experience was so stressful. I shouldn't have my time wasted if THEY are disorganized.

I was so excited I purchased their New Client Special that wasa 5 Pack of classes for $99. It was only valid for a month. I reserved the Aerial Silks class on a Tuesday evening. Per the usual new studio first visits, arrive a little early to sign their waiver. I arrived about 15 minutes early and there was no staff at the front. There was a bunch of unfilled and filled waivers. Red flags leaving their customer's private personal data laying around like that. I filled out a form but kept it with me until I can hand it to staff. It was a mess of girls rushing out from the prior class and girls rushing in for the next class. Total chaos. I put my things away in a cubby and stood around until some authority person came along. I prefer the studios where you get your own silk, but at this studio they will have you share silks with other students. They divided us into a group of beginners, and another side for the intermediate and advanced students. We started off with stretches. They are super elegant and stretched with grace here. Good form. Then when we began, the instructor would give us a few steps at a time to work on, then we would piece multiple steps together. When I asked the instructor if she can help me take photos she was too busy and told me to ask another student. I paid the studio, not random students who are strangers to me. It might have been fun with a friend but I did not enjoy going alone. Especially when there's stranger armpit sweat on the fabric. Not enjoyable at all. I actually walked out before the end of class cause I was so over it. I considered coming back to another class to use the sessions I pay for. However their class times are limited. Maybe only 2-3 classes after work, but some of those classes are advanced classes or classes I don't have an interest in. While deciding on my rating for this place... a 3 didn't seem like a good fit cause a 3 is average. If it was average I would have at least came back to use the classes I paid for. As someone who goes to a fitness studio for work outs 3-4 days a week, I literally just abandoned the package I paid for and went to another studio where I enjoyed my work outs. To each their own. This place provides niche classes not every studio offers. However the classes are limited and I don't enjoy sharing space with strangers.

If people are sweating, you should have water readily available IMO. Aside from these basic necessities, the studio is gorgeous. The poles are tall and all the ones I've tried have decent spin and seem fairly new. There's instructors here seems kind and I like that there are advanced beginner classes so you can level up from beginner before intermediate/advanced. I only wish they were a little less expensive but I like that they offer deals for new students. Hope to keep coming back here to continue my pole journey.

I don't like hot yoga, but I will try to refrain those sentiments to give this studio a fair assessment. This location of CorePower Yoga is located at the Marketplace, in the same plaza as Home Depot, Nordstrom Rack, and Boot Barn. There is plenty of parking in this retail plaza. Upon entering the studio, there was a cute waiting area with a fire place, merchandise for purchase, and a front desk. I came early since it was my first time at this studio, but I was surprised when I was told there was no waiver. I was shown to my studio space, but pretty much left on my own to explore the rest of the studio. They have 2 studio spaces that both look large. There are also male and female lockers areas with lockers, bathrooms, and showers. For the CoreRestore class, there were battery-powered candles throughout the studio space. We were instructed to grab 4-5 blocks and settle in at a spot by the wall for the legs up the wall poses. The class was pretty full. Unfortunately there was a person near me that was sniffling and coughing which made me even more germ concerned since we were trapped in this steamed room together. I liked that Elizabeth asked the class if we had any areas we need extra focus on. There were those who mentioned shoulders and back so those areas got extra loving. I enjoyed the opening poses and I feel mostly restful. Elizabeth was really nice and encouraged the class to do what we are comfortable with. At times there were some descriptions that were hard to follow, especially since the room is dark, but she would come around and guide us if we needed help. Class pricing is on the pricier side, since I did use more credits for this class compared to similar classes at another studio. I checked their pricing and confirmed that it was also more than other studios if I came without classpass. Great for those who enjoy hot yoga work outs, but I don't find it relaxing. I dislike stinky classmates sweating, potential for cardiovascular strain, and increased injury risk from over stretching that comes with hot yoga.

The Best Sculpt Instructors! LOVE this Corepower location!…read more I absolutely love taking sculpt classes at this location especially at 9:30 am. The workouts are so well-structured -- challenging in the best way, with use of weights that make you feel strong and accomplished every time. They push you without ever feeling overwhelmed and their energy is truly unmatched. I've been coming to this location for the past few years, and last year it truly helped me both physically and mentally throughout my 3rd pregnancy. Now I'm 6 months postpartum, and it's been rough getting my body to feel "normal" again -- but their classes have been a total game changer. They make me feel strong, capable, and proud of my progress every time I do show up. And the music... always a vibe! Their playlists hit perfectly every class and make the workout motivating and fun. You can tell they put real thought into creating an amazing experience. My two favorite yoga instructors here are Nora and Nicolette -- they complete the experience with their calming, supportive teaching styles. Truly such a great team all around. If you're looking for a sculpt class that tones, energizes, and empowers you, they are it. Highly recommend! ‍
