Dropped in for a daiquiri. The energy was amazing, the drinks were OK... but you can't beat the price! It did EXACTLY what it's supposed to do, but may come with a headache 1.5 hours later.

I love Melba's. They have an app with a reward program. Download the app and set up an account before going so you can take advantage of the daily specials. They also have a literacy program that gets you a free item (from their list) with the purchase of a book. I originally had red beans and rice as my side but I didn't like them. When I let the staff know, she quickly let me make another selection without issue. The Fish and Shrimp Poboy was well seasoned and dressed, without being spicy. It was hot and fresh. The fish and shrimp were both fried perfectly. I had a side of Mac and cheese. It was from a fresh pan, just needed salt and pepper. The restaurant was clean. I was having trouble with the app and they were patient in assisting me. They also let us try a couple of different daiquiri flavors.

Red beans and rice with smoked sausage. And an order of ribs. Nice plates.

We haven't seen anything like this. Melba's has a menu 20 ft. long...literally! Real soul food. The ribs: perfect. Collards: tender and well seasoned. Red Beans & Rice : creamy and delicious. They were so nice and efficient from the moment we walked in the door. Dining room, patio and service area were all inviting and interesting. 24 HRS Y'all get all the stars

The food was a 10/10. It was a little bit of a wait at 1:30am but it was worth it. I had the corn grits with a shrimp po'boy. PHENOMENAL. My friends had the shrimp and fish plate and loved it. It was giving a bodega style restaurant but it had daiquiris and book everywhere. I loved it.

The food is just okay, nothing special about it and they are as high as a giraffe's tail and quite overpriced for the quality and flavor.

Great food and their book giveaways are INCREDIBLE! Everyone is so nice and they have a variety of authors who participate.

Food was okay. Large portions. Had to wait for someone to just tell us to use kiosk. Flys were everywhere.

When visiting New Orleans, we stumbled across The Rum House and got curious. With a name like that,…read moreI figured they had to know rum, so we decided to give it a try. Luckily, we arrived during happy hour. We started with the tuna ceviche, which was half off. At only $8, it was an incredible value. The fish tasted very fresh, clean, and was beautifully presented. My only complaint was that it needed a little more lime and salt to really make the flavors pop. I'd absolutely order it again at happy hour, but at full price I'd hope for a little more seasoning. For drinks, we tried several. The Rum Punch didn't disappoint. It reminded me of a Hurricane but without the heavy grenadine flavor, which I personally prefer. Next was a creamy white rum cocktail with a pineapple garnish (I can't remember the name). It was surprisingly strong, which I loved since rum is usually a softer spirit. It was just a little sweeter than my taste, so I probably wouldn't order it again. The star of the night was the Piña Colada. It was honestly one of the best I've ever had. It wasn't overly sweet, had an incredibly smooth, creamy texture, and was topped with whipped cream and a rum floater that was absolutely perfect. They told me it's double blended, and whatever they're doing works. My only complaint? No maraschino cherry! I'm sorry, but a piña colada just isn't complete without one. One thing to keep in mind is that piña coladas tend to drink more like dessert than a strong cocktail. I had two and barely caught a buzz, but honestly I didn't care because they were that good. We also sampled the White Peach Sangria, and to me it tasted very similar to Moscato. If you're a Moscato fan, you'll probably love it. Overall, I'd definitely come back. Between the happy hour deals, the rum cocktails, and especially that piña colada, The Rum House is absolutely worth a visit. The piña colada would be the first thing I'd order again.

Food was good but please take Trinidad out of the "Trinidad street roti". There is nothing Trinidad…read moreabout it. Not a good mix with tamarind, bell peppers, cauliflower and so called roti. Beef patties were kinda weird as they tasted like they had curry or something, not too bad. This is coming from an actual Trini.
