Fantastic restaurant, the best of many great options on the Ritz property. Luckily we saved it for last so wasn't disappointed by the other restaurants but MELAO was one of the best experiences we ever had anywhere. I liked the jovial yet professional service but the food is what made it great. Started with a tuna tartare daily special recommended by the waiter, it was great. Many layers of flavors and the tuna and avocado was fantastic. I then had the ribeye (the smaller one, at only 20 oz :-)) and it was one of the best steaks I've ever had. For those who haven't seen my other reviews, I've been to hundreds of the best steakhouses, from NY to Chicago to Las Vegas to London, and while this wasn't a steakhouse it was fantastic. A nice think ribeye, perfect marbling but they also got the medium rare exactly as it should be, with an incredible char on the outside. I would fly back to Puerto Rico just to have this steak again. I also liked the crispy brussel sprouts and the asparagus were excellent, larger portion than you get elsewhere and nice thick asparagus. Finished with the I think 7 layer coconut cake, which I thought was the nicest dessert (split it with my wife's key lime pie, also good, and daughter's carrot cake donuts).
