I thought Wilo was great. I tried the bistec encebollado and the food was tasty. The bistec was slioghtly undercooked but the meat quality was good enough to make up for it. We also ordered a mamposteao that was more like a risoty but very tasty. In the app section we ordered sorullitos and alcapurries that we great. They also offer a great variety of premade meals you can take with you. Including desserts! Service was very attentive and fast. The ambiance is Wilo style. If you have been to to Pikayo or any of Wilo's past restaurants, it will feel similar. read more

As a discerning food enthusiast, I am consistently seeking exceptional dining experiences. For several years, fellow gastronomes have enthusiastically recommended this establishment. Regrettably, my experience fell far short from the hype. It started badly from the start; we ordered our drinks, and everyone's drink came but mine. It was obvious that the waiter forgot. After 15 minutes with no drink, we flagged our waiter Joseph, and asked for it. He looked annoyed, left, and brought it back 10 minutes later. We then ordered appetizers, which came 15 minutes later, but one at a time, around 10 minutes apart (there were five of us). All five appetizers were very good; we each ordered appetizers. I ordered a pork belly slider appetizer, which they later charged me for an extra order I did not ask for or receive. I ordered the Pulled Pork Apple Wood Bacon Linguine Carbonara, which was very good, and all our main courses were good. We had two waiters, and both neglected us for long periods of time. (it was obvious they were not communicating with each other) One finally came back and took our dessert order. We each ordered a dessert; my wife ordered a Combo Chocolate and Cheese Soufflé and received just a Cheese Soufflé. My friends and I ordered Bottom Crust Key Lime Pies, and another friend ordered a Baked Alaska. We received the Cheese Soufflé and waited at least 20 minutes for the rest of the desserts. When we noticed that the table next to us, that came a half hour after us got their desert , we then flagged down the waiter and asked about our desserts. He said we did not order any and argued with us. This was the straw that broke the camel's back. We weren't waiting another 20 minutes and told him to cancel the desserts and bring the check. It does not end here; we asked for two checks, and he brought one. We looked at the check and noticed we got charged for two bottles of water; they kept pouring water to ring up the bill (a very unethical practice in many restaurants; watch out for this). Like I said, they also charged me for an extra pork belly slider I did not order. I know mistakes happen, but this meal was one mistake after another, and to make it worse, the waiter argued with us, saying that we ordered it. (By the way, the waiter that argued with us was not Joseph; it was another waiter who said he was working with Joseph but did not give us his name.) I live on the island part-time and have dined at countless fine dining establishments all over the island and have never had this kind of service. It was so bad it ruined our night. We received Chinchorro service at a fine dining establishment price. (Apologies to all the amazing Chinchorros on the island.) My advice to the owner is to do a better job of training and supervising your staff because it will ruin their reputation and business, it's a very competitive business so regardless of the quality of their cuisine, horrible subpar service like this will definitely deter patrons from dining in their establishment. In this digital age future reviews like this will affect their bottom line. (A response from the owner would be welcomed ) read more

So here a more recent review and one that gives a little more detail ... So this was one of many times I've enjoyed Wilo. There were some great parts of the meal and some average but nothing inedible. The highlights included a blackened salmon and as well a blacked swordfish. Both were ample sized and prepared to perfection. I always have the Angus Beef Carpaccio but I think they missed the Truffle Oil but not to worry. The Bacalaitos and the Smoked Gouda Cheese "Bolitas" with Guava BBQ were ridiculous. Must haves. I had the Aquacate with Tuna Tartare (again ample) but the flavor or the tuna was muted and rather than little cubes it was more a mash. More flavor please. Charred Octopus and and Escargot flavors were sensational. Both prepared correctly. Finale was their Soufflés. Both Chocolate with vainilla creme anglaise (superb and worth every penny!!) and a Cheese based with guava sauce. The cheese offering I felt exposed a too powerful cheese flavor and was overwhelming... not to my liking. Maybe a milder cheese perhaps? One of my favorite restaurants when I am visiting Puerto Rico. The food is amazing! My must have's every time I go here are the tuna pegao, alcapurrias, bistec encebollado and a side of avocado. Another must have is the pineapple spritz. For dessert I got the cheese flan, also amazing with a latte. The service and ambiance is amazing. I found this place kind of randomly, and it was decent. The service was pretty good, but the food seemed to be hit or miss. I had the shrimp dumplings, which were tasty if not a little bland, but the sauce they were swimming in was not good. I tried Wilo for a business dinner and was impressed! A colleague mentioned it was from a renowned PR Chef, with very unique recipes. We got started with: cod fish croquettes, ahi tuna, dumplings, burrata w/n, calamari & hummus. The best were the tuna & the burrata w/ crispy proscuito . Next time I would probably pass on the calamari. For main dish, my colleagues had the salmon, churrasco & I tried the new york steak, which had sautéed mushrooms & asparagus, my choice of side was the arugula salad with manchego cheese & truffle. It was the best said i've ever had. The place was a little far from Condado, but would definitely make the trip there again next time i visit. read more

Very unwelcoming front desk. Service at the table was good so, we decided to stay and order appetizer. The "gandules" rice risotto was good but the pork skin on top came straight from a bag of chips. The cod croquettes didn't have any cod fish, the tuna-tartar with peanut sauce was an awful combination, and the wine (Wilo and somebody else collaboration) not good at all. Very sad because I heard so much of this place from a couple of friends in PR. I can't recommend this place. There are so many good restaurants in PR. This is not one of them. Decided on this restaurant for my birthday dinner with my husband and I'm so happy I made this selection. The ambiance was very chill tho it was pretty busy, we were sat at a table by the bar area. The service was excellent and the wait time for our plates was reasonable. The food was absolutely delicious, there wasn't a plate we ordered that we didn't love. The cocktails were alright, not impressed. The Lavender Aviation barely tasted like lavender, it was just a super bitter drink like pure lemon juice and the old fashioned wasn't great either. Hopefully there other cocktails go up to par with their food. Will most certainly be visiting again. read more

Wilo is an amazing restaurant with great food in a bright, beautiful location. My family was in a bit of a rush since we had a kayaking trip scheduled right after dinner, and the staff made sure the food was prepared quickly and that we were out of the restaurant in time. We started off with the following appetizers: Tuna tartar, Truffle Empanadillas, Gouda Cheese Bolitas, and White Bean Hummus. Everything was delicious! I was very happy to see there were a varitey of vegetarian options across the apetizers and maind ishes, since I was struggling to find quality options in Puerto Rico. I ordered the Impossible Bowl, which was a generous portion and tasted very fresh. My family enjoyed all of their main courses as well. Wonderful place for dinner! The patio was beautiful with bamboo on display. This restaurant is by Wilo Benet, a famous chef from Top Chef. The menu has a large variety of food and drinks and the service was spot on! We got the calamari; pork belly sliders; Mahi mahi bites and the Mac n cheese casserole. The calamari and Mac n cheese were decent, the Mac n cheese was very filling though. If you like pork belly definitely try the sliders - the meat is rich and tender, could have included some other ingredients in the slider for more dimension but delish nonetheless. The mahi mahi bites were just ok, seemed a little over cooked. The aguacate was very refreshing and tasty - sliced avocado topped with tuna tartare and a spicy sauce was delicious. My expectations were too high because of the renamed Chef in this place and because of the insisting recommendation from a family member. First, the sitting area (at least the indoor) was crowded, with lack of privacy at all. It was like any ordinary cafeteria were you can clearly hear your neighbors conversations. Service was ok, but weird at the same time. I'd rather reserve my comments around that. Food presentation was outstanding. However, my plate was nothing out of the ordinary just regular Corn beef surrounded by sweet plantains. My wife plate, Pastelon de arroz con polllo, lacked of the classic taste of this Criollo dish. Finally, the dessert was highly or maybe too highly recommend by the waitress and was a total disappointment. Just consider this, it was a small like cupcake (Sufle) for two and we couldn't finish it even though we had to wait for it to be baked. At least or most certainly, it was freshly baked. Very nice modern and colorful atmosphere, great service and awesome food. My favorites were 1. The Bottom Crust Key Lime Pie. Excellent texture, flavor and execution. I thought it was lemon instead of lime which I prefer. It was served cold and it was dense. You have to try it! I also got their signature Chocolate Soufflé with Vanilla Anglaise and all though is good, the Key Lime is definitely a better choice. 2. The angus Beef Tenderloin Bistec Encebollado with Butter Vinegar. It wasn't my original choice but my peers kept insisting and the server said it was cut from the Mignon so I went with it. I was not disappointed. It came in 3 layers on top of each other with a lot of hairline crunchy fries on top and very tasty sauce surrounding the meat to dip the rice. Yes! The rise. They called it Mamposteao and I believe it is typical to Puerto Rico. It's a mix of rice, red beans and pieces of sweet plantains. Very good. 3. Truffled carpaccio with parmesano cheese and pepper. It was delicious!!! Very soft and had flavors from all angles. Other mentions: The Fried Cheese Balls with Spicy Guava were very yummy. The Beef Alcapurrias were just Ok. The Octopus had great presentation and sauce. Not the best I ever had but I would order it again because we enjoyed it. Wilo, simply an exquisite dining experience. This would be a five star experience anywhere in the world this gastronomical gem is located. The fact that it is located on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico means many who enjoy fine dining experiences in many major cities around the world may never experience it. What a shame, both for the diner and the notoriety for a chef and pastry chef that are at the top of their game. Friends of ours who live in Puerto Rico treated us to Wilo. Needless to say we will forever be in their debt. We shared the delectable bites of their appetizers: Beef Carpaccio, Tuna Tartare, Beef Alcapurrias and Chicken Dumplings. When the main course was delivered, the; Churrasco,( with seasoning you had to savor with each tastebud tantalizing bite) and Jumbo Shrimp a la Plancha where the indescribable seasoning of the fried rice made it the star of the show and not the four plump jumbo shrimp that were predominantly featured ; what a beautiful surprise it was. To top it all off my dessert was truly a struggle to order because I knew what a diet destroyer an Apple caramel Cheesecake can be, but once I bit into this pastry chef's masterpiece there were no regrets, there were no regrets. Each bite was an Apple desert aficionado's quintessential nirvana. When I finished the last bite of this masterpiece all I could say was wow! The wait staff led by our lead server Mario were engaging and knowledgeable. The ambience was low key & friendly. What a beautiful dining experience it was! We decided to try several different dishes, all of which were beautifully presented. Our server made some amazing recommendations. We ended up ordering the Burratta special, which was served with cherries, and came with roe on top which was a bit of an odd flavor combination. The tuna tartare with avocado was generous and tasty with the peanut sauce. We also enjoyed the mahi mahi bites, Mac and cheese (which was a generous portion we ended up taking home), the mixed green and goat cheese salad and beef alcapurrias. Last night was our third time visiting Wilo's Eatery and once again, outrageously delicious and inventive food. We come here at least once everytime we visit from the US and will continue to come. Had one of the best dishes I've ever had in my life; the tuna tartare with chipotle pegao. Tuna was super fresh and flavorful and the pegao cracker was crunchy until the last bite; just out of this world amazing. All the other dishes were also outstanding and the dessert of chocolate soufflé and trio of ice creams and sorbet were heavenly. The staff treats you like you are part of the family. Easy parking as well and they will validate your ticket. Highly recommend for a modern take on puertorrican cuisine. read more

Kike was amazing, he was very attentive and so much fun with our group. The food was spectacular, i could not stop eating. We tried the tuna pegaitos, the alcapurrias and the beef carpaccio for appetizers. They were so so good, we asked for another round of those. For dinner pur group has a bit of everything, but the main dishes to point out were the risottos. OH MY GOODNESS, how good were they.
