First the staff were some of the best people that you ever want to meet....Friendly, knew the menu well, and made sure that we had the best experience. The people, the culture, the conversation made this place and added to the ambiance.. you are home here! The food was a collection of some of the dishes that we ever had. The sauces were vibrant, fragrant, and you could tell that everything was homemade with the right balance. I had the best gnocchi that I ever had period! The tuna also was the best....ever! My wife had the salmon with the lo mein and she said it was along with my son.. The sauces had so much deep color that we just spent time looking at it in awe. This restaurant is family own and the owners were preparing the meal and you could tell how much pride they put into. Their son was one of our waiters and we had three of them! We visited this restaurant on a Friday night. There is street parking as well as a few parking spots at the shops next door. Outside the restaurant there is a patio area with a few tables for sitting. Walking into the restaurant revealed a very cute and cozy dining area with seating for maybe 30 people total. Service was very friendly and prompt. We ordered a mixture of a few tapas and one main dish. All of the tapas we had were very good with our favorites being the Gauchadas and the Cuban dumplings. Our main dish was the star of the show. The Asado Argentino was amazing. The goat cheese and tamarind sauce gave the steak a subtle sweet and tangy flavor while the chimichurri sauce was a nice herby accent. The steak was perfectly cooked and for skirt steak to approach the tenderness of rib eye is very difficult to do, but they they did it. We also tried the namesake dessert the Bienmesabe and it reminded me of a tres leches cake but coconut flavored. It was very light and a perfect finish for a wonderful meal. read more

Although I don't come here very often since I live outside Puerto Rico, Bienmesabe it's definitely my favorite place for Brunch. It's a small and really charming restaurant with a few outdoor seats right in the Heart of Guaynabo. I've never been disappointed by any of my selections. Two of my favorite standouts from the brunch menu are definitely the salmon eggs Benedict and the chicken and waffles, I also tried the French Toast Sandwich on a previous visit and it was also quite yummy. Fantastic brunch. The waiter was very helpful with his recommendations, a big plus. The mimosas were so fresh and the food came out quickly. Perfect Sunday spot. My in-laws recommended this restaurant based on past experiences. So off we went to Bien Me Sabe. Upon arrival, we received complimentary valet parking, which was great. When we stepped in to the restaurant, I realized how small it was. I would say the main dining room was about 15' x 15' - not much bigger than your living room. I think this restaurant was converted from a house. Anyway, the waiter was all over us from start to end. I lost track of the number of times he came to our table to top off our wine and water glasses. My father-in-law selected a bottle of Chiraz red wine, which was very good with the meal. Three of us ordered Churrasco and my wife ordered pork loin with rice and beans. We also ordered three appetizers, but I don't remember the names of them except the Ceviche, which was pretty good. The kids ate chicken fingers and quartered potatoes, which were good. The appetizers were three stars at most. The wine gets four stars. The kids meals get four stars. The service gets five stars. The ambience gets three stars - 2 for being small, one extra for having a live acoustic guitarist. Our dinners arrived after a short wait. My churrasco had some type of cream sauce spread over the top and it was served over a butterflied chorizo sausage link. I'm not a big fan of chorizo due to the high fat content. I ordered the steak medium, but it was served very rare. I didn't realize it until I had already taken two bites, at which point I don't like to send a steak back to the grill. Also, since it was covered in some creme sauce, it probably wouldn't have been a good idea. It was served with some green rice that was a little dry. The dish wasn't bad, but it was forgettable. The wife's pork loin had some flavor and so did her rice and beans. On the whole, I'd say hers was the best dish. I can't quite put my finger on it, but this place didn't satisfy me. And I don't think it was worth the price. For four adults and two kids, the bill came to $210 with tip. I was hoping for a less expensive dining experience this evening, but that didn't happen. We decided to visit Bienmesabe beacause we happen to be in the area and after reading the reviews on Yelp! Again, it seems people writing the reviews do not have a clue about restaurants or they must be friends of the owners. Perhaps, the chef was not working that day. Either way there is no excuse for substandard food nor to people be giving 4 and 5 stars to a place like this. Indeed, the little restaurant feels nice, cozy and good place to spend an evening drinking wine with friends. The service was good and waiters were well dress for such small set up. However, they need to be fed the food they will be serving so they are familiarize and better describe them and be able to make suggestions on the menu. Now the food from one to ten: Presentation: 6 - Tapas portions were appropriate, BUT YOU DO NOT USE DRYED BOTTLED SPISED TO GARNISH A DISH!!! Taste: 3 - We order several tapas: Ropa Vieja Steam Dumplings, and Fried Calamari, Mero and Rice Croquet. It appear they use bread crumbs strait out of a box. Common guys, use a little imaginations. After all is one of the easiest things to do. The steam dumplings got stuck to the bowl and each other and came apart when we tried to pull them out. Although it was our first visit, first impressions are crucial and we will not be back any time soon. read more

Every time I'm in P.R., I have to stop by this cute little place. I have never had an issue with service. Actually, I will say that it has been the best service I have had in a P.R. restaurant so far. The staff make you feel at home and the food is delicious! Extremely boutique type restaurant (literally, it can only fit like 20 people) but the service and food are impeccable. The fusion of Puerto Rican with international flavors is great. Great selection of wines, but be careful, that's when the bill gets out of control. Watch for Wednesday nights, since a group of amateurs like to sing and play some bohemian songs and given the size of the place, they might be screaming a bit louder than you'd like. I visted the restaurant in May 2015, looking for a lunch alternative. The place is cozy and nicely decor. The service experience was ok, I waited a bit more than I expected since there were only 3 tables occoupied. The valet parking service is very conviniente as ther is very limited parking spaces. I had the soup of the day wich happend to be Chick Peas and it was very good, the hot sauce give it a nice kick. As main entree I had the Pork Loin and I was not surprise on the other hand it was a bit flavorless and needed to add salt and pepper to corrected and the salad was too dry.
