A friend and I shared 3 dishes and drank some ranch waters for lunch on a summer Tuesday. -Puerco Y Jalapenos (Jalapeños stuffed with chorizo cream cheese wrapped in bacon and served with a cilantro lime cream sauce) were probably the best of the 3. -My companion liked the Esquite Bombs (Putting a twist on traditional esquite, corn, potato, chihuahua cheese, cotija cheese, cilantro, guajillo cream, and takis crumbles. Rolled and deep-fried into savory balls of heaven) next best, while I found it to be a little dry and Taki-crumbles overtook the taste. Still good! -The Meji Glizzy (12″ Beef hotdog wrapped in jalapeno and bacon on a bun with mayo, slaw, cheese, onion, cilantro, guajillo sauce, avocado, caramelized onion, and potato straws) was a delicious take on a hot dog, if a little messy. -The Ranch Waters were light and refreshing, as they should be. Came to Mejicali for dinner with my best friend who was visiting me. Was so pleasantly surprised at the delicious menu and kind staff. I got the birria and carne asada tacos - both so flavorful I had to order more than one of each! On top of that, our server had such a friendly energy that made the experience very enjoyable. What a cool family friendly spot! This restaurant has live band, indoor and outdoor seating with access to a playground for little ones. It was a little chilly out so we couldn't take advantage of the outdoors but throughly enjoyed the indoor seating and the friendly staff. The food was absolutely delicious, large and very filling! I would go back here again next time in town! read more

Great atmosphere with quick service. You order from a QR code at the table and the food and drinks appear almost immediately like magic! The drinks were so good, especially the chica drink (not pictured). The elote was fantastic - just like I grew up eating in the southwest. The prices were very reasonable. I can't quite figure out who their target demographic is! The restaurant is on Main street (where parking is typically a pain to find), but their outdoor space is outfitted with an entire play structure for kids, along with several outdoor games (connect 4, horseshoe, etc.) There are outdoor tables and a lounge area with lights strung up. Inside are mostly hightop tables. Table service is extremely limited; you scan the table top QR code and order (and pay) from your phone using the Toast app. Servers only come to drop off and clear the tables. The food is EXCELLENT. We enjoyed everything that we ordered, with the steak sandwich with fries being my favorite! This place is definitely worth checking out and surprisingly family friendly if you sit outside! read more

My husband and I were looking to try a new place to add to our standard restaurant rotation, and the hot dog and fried equites balls on the menu were unique enough to make this place stand out amongst the many options. It's annoying to get to (due to lack of parking) unless you are walking there from the hospital or grounds, but the food was worth it. It seemed silly to have a hot dog at a Mexican restaurant, but it was a 10/10. The fish tacos were also SUPER good. The esquites balls were too weird texturally to live up to the real thing, but they weren't bad. The decor inside was nice, and it was laidback, with ordering at your table by QR code. I love the outdoor patio, the brussels sprouts for my favorite thing I ordered. The burger surprisingly didn't have too much flavor, but was overall good. The Wings were decent quality and the sauce was pretty good. Overall enjoyed the food, but wasn't amazed. I feel like this place has really good drinks. Nice place with solid Mexican food. We had veggie and pork sopes which were outstanding. The chili relleno was good with rice and beans that were tasty, not just a plate filler. Cozy inside with lots of nice art work, large patio with fire and lots of space for kids to run around. We'll be back, are SO grateful for decent Mexican in cville. Service was wonderful, Super friendly staff! You order from a QR code from your table and start a tab and pay from your phone. All our food was awesome. It was so good we ate before snagging a photo. Food and drinks were pretty good. There was a very obnoxious drunk woman who was yelling about her drama to the whole restaurant. The bartenders cut the woman off from drinking, but she came back. When the woman came back they let her start drinking again because it was her birthday. Ruined our entire experience! We were going to order more food and drinks but we left because the woman was out of control. I'm not sure why the staff allowed her to continue to be in the restaurant acting the way she did. Ordering is done through QR code and mobile phone, it was a bit intimidating at first but turned out to be super easy and ordering additional items was a breeze. Payment was through the app as well. They do have discounts available which I unfortunately didn't take advantage of on my visit. Paid about ~$40 per person after everything including tip so not too bad as a going out spot. It seems great here until it's not and Nicholas is an awesome bartender but his manager wanted me to switch to plastic cups and I'm sorry, I'm NOT having it.
