The menu had lots of really yummy options and everyone is bound to find something they like. Their spinach& artichoke dip is a borderline life changing experience - you have to get this as an appetizer. They do it like it's never been done before! The firecracker shrimp was really generous and delicious, I was really impressed. No tiny skimping shrimp here. We came for brunch on a weekend so I got the Croque Madame and it sounds like kinda a novel entree but WOWWW it's so tasty and filling, but not heavy. Loved that I could sub the side for fruit too, that was very fresh. We got a bread appetizer too which was really elegantly presented. We had a gluten free guest and they did a wonderful job providing a gluten free plate to her as well. That thoughtfulness was appreciated

I tried the Bang bang broccoli this time - a seasonal Bar bite - it was more of an asian ginger flavor w/ fried broccoli - it was not my favorite but I could see how people would love it. Ended up ordering the Short Rib grilled cheese (see pics) - very flavorful sandwich w/ a hearty portion of short ribs & 3 kinds of cheese on a sourdough. Definitely worth a shot. On top of this amazing food, the service was quick and on point. Although I am older, I have a baby face and am sometimes over looked for good service - so it's important to me that all customers are treated equally. William D. (Name on receipt) did a fantastic job on making me feel like I belonged there. Perfect dinner experience

Well, I wish I had pictures for the awesome and delicious meal I had but it was too good to take…read morepictures of. The food was amazing. In case you have never been they offer steaks that are cooked in a brick fire oven. AMAZING I ordered the VA sirloin which was cooked to perfection (medium rare) with creamed spinach and potatoes. The creamed spinach and the potatoes were very delicious and flavorful. I also ordered the fried oysters which were great. Not overly fried and still maintained the texture and flavor of a typical oyster. The service was impeccable. Our waitress was very entertaining and helpful. She was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. She ensured that wanted for nothing. The ambiance was great. I loved the cow theme as well as the signage that stated "no well done steaks". It was a great touch. Overall, I had a great experience. If I am in Charlottesville again I will definitely visit.

We started with the shrimp cocktail and it was so good. We had a second one then we had the roasted Brussel sprouts with garlic. They were absolutely delicious. Then we had some Caesar salads, which were they were all right. Then we had a Châteaubriand with Bernaise sauce. We also got some of the four-day demi-glaze and it was all great. The Steak was made to perfection. Our waiter. Todd was great. He took very good care of us and all in all the place was great. We had a great time. The food was awesome. I would highly recommend coming here if you ever in Charlottesville, Virginia. sorry about the photograph, but we ate our food so I forgot to take pictures so the empty plate will have to suffice.

Had lunch on a Friday afternoon and had a fantastic experience. Was my first time at this location…read more There were three in my party and we all remarked about the fantastic food and service. Waitlisted on the app about ten minutes before arrival. The host called me by name, seated us at a table with my name on it and asked me to come back as he held open the door as I left - again by name. Everyone was so friendly! Enjoyed lemon herb chicken, baked sweet potato and broccoli with carrots. Asked for extras such as paper napkins, a to-go-drink cup, extra cinnamon and extra butter on the side. Our server, Taylor was generous and friendly. Cooked and seasoned perfectly, the chicken was also moist and flavorful. I inquired who was "on the grill" today and was told Carolina prepared our food. Shout out to Carolina for her superior skills. Of course, we initially came for the yeast rolls - and 'Oh it is good!' Taylor seemed happy to bring more and even a to-go-bag of rolls and the famous sweet, whipped, cinnamon butter. It is going to make someone at home very happy. The manager, Thomas came to ask about our experience and invited us to come back. It is rare to have a dining experience that checks all the boxes - and this experience was stellar. I 100% recommend.

Good not great, but it could be. That was my impression after dining at The Jervey this evening…read more The space is inviting, though it can be a bit noisy, and there seemed to be an issue with the overhead lights dimming periodically in the dining room. Our water was brought out quickly and our drink order was taken at the same time. The young man was quick and friendly, but he wasn't our server. It was a bit busy, but our server arrived soon enough, and we ordered the tuna tartare and the rolls. Both were tasty, and we both enjoyed the spicy tuna. After we had finished our appetizers, our order was eventually taken, and not long after, our food arrived. We both enjoyed our entrees. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the scallops were as well. The sides were fine, with lobster Mac and cheese being the standout. Overall, I think what we found lacking was atmosphere and personality. While everyone we interacted with was pleasant enough, it didn't feel like the fine dining experience advertised on the website. There was no asking if we had any questions about the menu, no highlighting of dishes, or specials of any sort. It just felt like they were serving top notch food in an average chain restaurant playing dress-up atmosphere. The elements are there for The Jervey to be amazing, but right now they just aren't there yet, in my opinion. I will definitely go back and enjoy the food again, that's for sure.

we wanted to try a new place in cville and we saw this as an option…read more i have a couple of gripes with this place: 1. we didn't have a reservation because open table or resy didn't have an option at 4pm but we thought if we went when they opened they would have some tables set aside from walkins. we were sat in this weird long table facing the bar sitting next to each other and the entire time we were there, not a single table was occupied even though they were saved for reservations. I would understand if this place was super busy and these tables were actually reserved but not a single table was occupied in the hour we were there. they sat families and babies at the bar even though there were open tables 2. the food was pretty good! however for a burger, to charge $20+ and for it to not come with fries is a little annoying. they served it on a plate that was huge and would look like it would be a great place for a portion/side of fries 3. for the vibe of this place, the desserts were too basic and expensive, they were serving milk and cookies and an ice cream sundae the service was great we liked our server a lot though and it's a pretty space
