This store is - odd.. they do carry a wide variety of lightweight home furnishings and decor, seasonal items, beauty, clothing, shoes, housewares, toys, gourmet food items, accessories, and baby stuff.. but it's so disorganized.. it's nearly impossible to look for anything.. it's like if Dollar General and TJ Maxx had a baby- it could be Gabe's.. They occasionally have a few items of interest, yet the displays are awful) yet better than than in comparison to the day they first opened)........but it's always a bit of a eyesore.. it always seems as if the manager needs to straighten the place up.. it is chaos!! Or vest are hit or miss/ sometimes low, occasionally off the mark.. I've seen carhart jackets and j crew pants for decent prices and yet I've looked at tankless candles pretty cedar as much as the original retailer and cheap looking sesdinal decor I can buy at dollar tree at an 1/8th the price.. This mall used to be such a pleasant place to escape to! I walked around in a basically dark, deserted place today. Most lights were turned off, yet the mall was open! Most stores are gone, and the VERY few left are pitiful. Most shoppers would have no reason to to to those stores that are left. Macy's is soon leaving. It won't be long before the rest of the stores and JC Penney decide to vacate. I can't imagine they are taking in much money anymore. Really, really sad. Dark, depressing and empty. The upper level food court is also completely gone. The owners have done nothing to keep this place up and running for the people of Flint. Shame on them.

The stores that are open are only open when they feel like operating apparently. Mall was supposed to be open until 8:00 PM, but MANY stores were closed down before that. Macy's looks like a Goodwill. Their carpet is extremely dirty and old and it's obviously not an issue to corporate- I'm sure they figure it'll close down sooner or later so why bother fixing anything in it? This mall being in this condition makes me so sad. I remember when every single store and food court slot was filled. Now it's a sad shell of a building. Building owners don't care about maintaining it- which is why every other month they're having a water issue. I'm sure this mall will be shutdown completely within the next 5-10 years and it'll just be another abandoned building in Flint.

Now it seems like the novelty of what made Big Lots cool is gone. All I see now is more and more cheaper imitation Art Van and Lazy Boy knockoff furniture and convenience junk food. The prices are higher, the selection is poorer and the parking lot is so characterized by pot holes that I'm afraid I would damage the shocks or struts on my nice car by parking here. The pot holes are like craters, so heed them when shopping at this Big Lots. I don't understand why they are turning this Big Lots, which is supposed to be an outlet for odd lots, discontinued items and closeouts from larger department stores, into a wannabe furniture store. At least before, there was no lying about what the quality was like. It was cheap dorm room quality stuff for practically nothing that wasn't designed for a real household with families and all that entails. Now, it looks like a closeout furniture mart. It's sad. I used to love finding gourmet coffee and tea here for cheap. If I was looking for furniture, I'd go to a real furniture store, not here.
