The lemon passed the 2 bite test (it should only to take 2 to reach the filling) and it was so very tasty. The raspberry was a 3 biter, fill was slightly off center, but it was loaded-fruity, not too sweet. Definitely worth a trip. The search for paczki continues. Don't miss out.

I rode my motorcycle 40 minutes to check out Max's Donut Shop after seeing their mouthwatering…read morephotos online. I pictured myself sitting at a counter with a hot cup of coffee and a fresh donut. Unfortunately, the reality didn't match the photos. The shop itself is a bit dingy and dim, and the counter shown in pictures was blocked with boxes and plastic--no place to sit. I arrived before 11 AM on a Friday and the selection was already pretty picked over. The one worker got swamped when a crowd came in, and the tight space made the whole experience feel rushed. I ordered two donuts (cheap, which was nice), but they were tossed in a bag together with no divider, so the frosting stuck together which made it a pain to get them out of the bag to eat. No napkins were given. Fortunately, I remembered to ask for some. One donut was chocolate with sprinkles, the other had buttercream filling with white frosting. Both were decent, nothing amazing. I tried to sit outside, but the chairs were old and dirty. They looked liked they came from an old elementary school. To top it off, someone came up trying to sell me a "$600" motorcycle helmet for $100. I decided to make a quick exit. If I lived nearby, I might grab a dozen to-go, but it's not worth a special trip. Just average overall.

We had to go to an appointment near Grand Rapids today. So my hubby wanted to stop by this bakery…read morethat was recently voted #1 Bakery in Michigan. Can I have anything... No ... Yeah I'm crying. But I ordered everything I would if I could. And my hubby tried everything. Do I think you should go out of your way Yes! Especially now when we have nothing to do but drive these days. Everything was freshly baked different unique flavors. We ordered one of everything basically. Got into the car my hubby tried a little bite of everything and then we actually went back in to get more of things so that we could share them with other people. They had a Malple Toasted Coconut Cinnamon Roll... I tasted the frosting it was delicious. The texture was super soft by feel. He loves them. We also got a four pack of regular cinnamon rolls which we haven't tried yet. They had a homemade oatmeal sandwich cookie that was pretty good, but not the best ever. Homemade nutter butter cookies. The frosting inside was a little sugary, I tasted that, but other than that he said it was a great mixture between crunchy and soft. They have a cappuccino donut... I tasted the frosting and the filling Oh my God... If I could eat them we would have ordered a dozen. And he agrees. The apple fritters... Amazing. We haven't tried the turnovers yet. They have Apple, blueberry, raspberry, and cherry And the scones looked amazing although we didn't actually get one. The baker really seem to know his stuff. As someone who cooks all the time and goes to restaurants and likes to try new restaurants and see what other people are doing I really appreciate the fact that he also does the same. He goes places, he tries things and it gives him new perspective. And it shows that he really is into perfecting his craft. Bottom line if you're in the area you should go. If you're not in the area and you have nothing else to do you should probably still go! Everything is great and fresh and they are super friendly and helpful As with everything there's always a con. My only complaint would be that the baker wasn't wearing a mask but maybe where they are, you might not need to. I don't know what the numbers are there.
