It's an amazing, hipster coffee shop in the middle of downtown Owosso. The ambience is so modern and hip, which is a nice contrast to the historic elements of Corunna. The coffee and tea are delicious, and the staff are very friendly and helpful with your order. They also display a lot of local art and goods in case you need to pick up a gift. There is plenty of large tables for seating, and it looked like a lot of people were set up for a couple of hours to work/study. It was a very pleasant atmosphere, and we come here every time we visit the town! read more

Foster Coffee Co. has rooted their success within the community by giving back to others and I think that is a beautiful thing! I wish every city had a coffee shop that gave people more than just espresso shots and lattes. (While I was there they had a huge presentation/get together with the community to discuss adopting/fostering children- amazing!) The atmosphere is on point! The exposed brick with their signature dark turquoise walls and logo is so trendy and perfect! Their coffee was so good (I got an iced caramel latte) that I came back three times during my stay in Owosso. The only downside to their coffee was that I felt it was weak and the latte was a little too "milky." On my next two orders I asked for an extra shot of espresso to give it a stronger coffee flavor- yet it still wasn't STRONG- still pretty weak...but that's just my personal preference. Any coffee shop you go to is going to cost $5+ for a drink but this one was a little on the pricier side (especially since I got an extra shot of espresso in each drink) but I like that this coffee shop gives back to the community and hosts special events so if that costs a little extra out of my pocket I'm ok with being a part of the difference they're making! Overall, I love this place and will make it a point to stop by any time I have the chance! read more

Stopped by after lunch for some coffee... after reviewing the menu, I went with Large Kaya Pour Over. Pour overs will take some time, so find a seat, relax until your name is called. I was surprised to find this little cozy joint in heart of Owosso, not something you expected. The staff were welcoming and friendly, Kaya was bold and strong, would recommend this. On the day I visited, the weather was wonderful, so they had the front sliding door open, they have patio seating and inside is spacious and noise level was on the mild side. If you are in town, I would recommend you swing by to grab some coffee. read more

I had a meeting at Foster's recently and give the place high marks for good decorations, it was clean, staff was very pleasant. But it's not a good meeting place, it was very loud, the tables are huge which make talking hard. The coffee while nicely presented and good tasting was only lukewarm which was a bummer. read more

Good place for a decent espresso drink in Owosso .. I'm so happy to see this type of place open in town .. unfortunately they use Stevia which is bitter and I don't like at all, but other than that it's a beautiful little coffee shop.. they have the killer Lamarzacocco machine too which I'm not sure where else within 40 miles you'll find that! So yeah if your looking for a serious coffee and your in Owosso .. you found your place at Fosters! read more

A drizzly day in the beginning of winter, settling in at Foster Coffee Company on the couch by the fireplace(it was fake), sipping on our lattes made for an excellent way to spend the late morning. The location, set in line with other small businesses on Washington street just a couple blocks north of the train tracks. A brick facade front led you inside to an highly open space with tall ceilings. Details around like the brick walls, concrete counter tops, and low sitting displays gave the venue a wonderfully open and large feeling. The design is simple, yet you feel a sense of connection. Would a real fireplace have been better than a fake one with dry logs instead of fire? Yeah, probably would, but they have set a couch and a couple of chairs around it and once you are nestled into the cushions you find yourself cozy and feeling at home. Aside the front door you find a window-covered set of doors that I presume in the summer months and warmer days gets opened up allowing the great outside air in. A bar height table on wheels sit adjacent to those doors and you could only expect that you'd be looking into the outside when they get opened up. Very large and low set barista counter provides an uninterrupted view allowing interaction between yourself and the barista. Further into the shop you'll find plenty of seating for you to work or hangout. With a smaller community table for up to six or eight people, an array of multiple four-top tables, and just a couple of spots for an easy two people. Roasting is new to Foster Coffee Company, or at least doing the process in house. It actually happens in the basement. The big flume you see running from floor to ceiling exhausts the fumes out of the lower floor. Madcap Coffee was the initial help for Foster when they began everything a couple years ago. From training baristas to teaching about roasting, they have helped this shop grow and gain popularity. With Madcap being who they are it is easy to see the excellence that they provide in their shops here in Owosso, MI. That excellence has shown thru the latte as well. Not too powerful, just subtle enough. Foster roasting their own beans and still learning and figuring out their own taste, I noticed that in my beverage. The milk shined a little more than the espresso. What espresso taste was available was good, and maybe it could have been a grind discrepancy that caused the flavor to be off. Earthy with a hint of fruit mixed into the milk provided a very well made drink. Though my girlfriend's Spiced Vanilla Latte came out better tasting and I feel the flavor had something to do with that being able to compensate for the loss in espresso. Overall both lattes, the basic and the spiced, were enjoyable in their own way. Keep working hard Foster Coffee Company, you've come a long way from the beginnings where you started and you have the capacity to do wonderful things. I'll be back another day to see you again! The chai tea is great hot or cold and every drink they make is handcrafted and you can tell that they put love into everything they do. I have been coming to Foster's regularly for about a year. Each time I come, I am greeted with a smile. The baristas go out of their way to make me feel comfortable. They use my name. People of all ages come here. I'm not a coffee drinker, but the hot chai cider with caramel reminds me of the hot Vernon's with a cinnamon stick I used to get at my grandpa's after shoveling his snow. What I'm trying to say is Foster's feels like home, even though I am not from around here. I am grateful for a place to get some grading done, and Foster's helps make that chore an enjoyable experience. read more

This shop is right up there with Strange Matter on quality, presentation, and ambience! I love coming here and I'm looking forward to visiting when the front of the shop is open! When I say open, I mean the front wall of the shop opens up and connects right to the side walk! Talk about fostering a community and bringing people in. Bottom line, I love Foster, they have the best macchiato I've had (not a Starbucks fake macchiato, an actual 2-3oz macchiato). The staff does an awesome job! Thank you for addressing my review I had the latte with extra shot, 4 shots. I was thinking maybe you use some light roast blend or something not as strong. I like to taste the coffee flavor. I don't think you would scald the milk making it hotter as I've had many of these at other places and they were nice and hot and that never was an issue. At least maybe you are willing to improve on it and maybe make a dark roast extra strong version for those customers that love that coffee flavor, yes even in a latte...next time I'll try the espresso and see how that is...keep up the improvement because your cafe is beautiful really. read more

Service was nice and the inside is cute, smells nice, sweet atmosphere, but the coffee is probably the worst I've ever had. I'm not one to get fancy drinks loaded with flavors, cream, and sugar, all I ordered was a hot Americano black. It tasted terrible. I gave the store a second try a few weeks later ordering a hot chocolate, still bad. Went in a third and final time ordering yet again another Americano black and was disappointed once more. I work at Tim Hortons and WE serve better coffee than this at a fraction of the price. read more
