Useless workers. They were the most helpless careless people I have ever met. They only tell me what they CANT do. Especially the self checkout people. Most Lazy individuals I have ever met. I had two problems and I went to each end to check out and then they said they can't do anything about it. One issue was the towels, and the other issue was an item that didn't have a price on it, which they tell me they couldn't do anything about I had to go get another item, they were too lazy to look it up themselves. Horrible. Worst store ever. Please just close it and put something useful in its place. The worst customer service. I have had nothing but issues with the pharmacy. I was hung up on by a team lead in frozen foods as there was not a store director nor pharmacy manager available to speak with. Even the main customer service line representative couldn't get through to anyone. I was told I would receive a call back regarding my issue that is much too convoluted to explain here. 5 days later and nothing. I'll be taking my business back to Kroger. You cannot shirk responsibility and decide you don't want to deal with something when you are in a customer service role - especially when it comes to one's medications. Another great shopping spree completed with a list of checked off items. Happy to shop here staff is helpful and friendly. Thank you to all workers. Food selection is always fresh. We like Boars Head meats. They did not have it. We got the Deitz& Watson brand which is still good. Clean as always and antibacterial wipes for the carts. read more

Very disappointed in customer service. I'm a business owner and if I ran my company like this Flat Rock Meijer I would be out of business. Today I was buying groceries and was told "Next time don't use the self checkout lanes because your over 12 items". I wouldn't have to use the self checkout if Meijer's would open more checkout lanes. I can't wait for lanes longer then a Cedar Point ride. I could have just left my cart full and left it for the employees to take care of but I didn't, shame on me for checking out my groceries. Since this store opened August 14, 2016 they have only had 3 checkout lanes even though Christmas. I'm sorry I inconvenienced this Meijer employee by having to enter a 6 digit code to unlock my self check out register to allow me to pay for my groceries. I called customer service and Denise wasn't helpful, she basically told me that your business isn't needed. I'll start shopping at Kroger or BJ's they have fast friendly service. read more

Super clean and shiny, this is the newest Meijer in the Downriver area. At the intersection of Vreeland and Telegraph, it's an easy stop for those who work at the plant or hospital. Probably one of the best things for me is the fact that they have a Huntington Bank inside, which will make it convenient for me to do transactions after regular bank hours. Their lobby stays open to 7 p.m. during the week. They also have a Great Clips for bargain haircuts. It's more of a commuter Meijer, because there is a large prepared food area as you enter the grocery department. Less seasonal decorations and a smaller garden center, it's still enough for those who need a Meijer fix. read more

9 bottle return machines and only 2 function. You need to put more effort into making the bottle return operate correctly. Nothing more frustrating than bringing bottles in then having to return them back to the car because bins are full. read more

Sometimes it is OK and other times its horrible. Lately it has been horrible. Lots and Lots of holes on the shelves, very rude associates, terrible check-outs, Meat counter at times has a very unpleasant odor, salad area is very skimpy. And my pet peeve, items that are on shelves that do not belong in that area, I understand it is the shoppers who pick up somethin gin one aisle and then deposit it in another aisle, that is a clientele problem for sure, but it is the stores responsibility to clean up after the very rude and extremely lazy shoppers who can't put back items where they got them. When you plan your shopping experience at the flat rock Meijer make sure to add an extra hour into your shopping experience if you plan to get anything at the deli counter. I spent a half an hour waiting to get some lunchmeat. In the precut selection there was quite a few packages that were missed labeled so I had to wait. Just to check out took another half hour. If you do not know how to use the self check out line please do not use the self check out line. I know Meijer has no control who uses these line but please use some common sense if you have a hard time using technology waiting items and keeping your stuff on the scale please use another line. With that Meijer check out employees or one of the slowest people I have ever seen. I understand it's hard to find employees and with that high quality employees but come on I don't want to have a conversation with somebody after waiting a half hour to check out with three items. read more

The store is awful. It's laid out weird and you can't find anything because the isle signs only list half of what's in the isle. Also, going to the deli is a mind numbing experience. If you enjoy wandering around a store and then waiting an hour for a pound of deli meat then this is your place! Keep in mind it doesn't matter how many people are in line at the deli. I'm giving meijer one star because EVERY single time I use the self check out, I end up spending so much extra time in delays due to the awful software system they have. There are always system errors that pop up a multiple times within one transaction and I'm left standing there waiting for an associate to clear it each time it happens before I can continue scanning. It's very frustrating and has been going on for an extremely long time, maybe a year? I find it absurd that the problem has not been corrected and it makes me want to just quit shopping at meijer altogether because I have the same problem at other locations too. It's especially maddening when I'm in a rush and want to be in and out but can't because I have to wait to have all the error messages cleared. FIX the problem already! My favorite part of shopping at the Flat Rock location is that it is clean. Nothing better than walking into a clean store to shop for groceries. That's where it ends for the great customer experience at Flat Rock. Whenever I shop for groceries, or put in a Shipt order it is the same story....they are out of stock on most items. Example for today's shopping trip, Coles Garlic Bread, out if stock. Meijer 8oz tomato sauce, out of stock, 8 pack Diet Pepsi, out of stock. Pillsbury Pizza Crust, out of stock. Meijer Ground Italian Sausage, out of stock. Idahoan Loaded Baked Potato, out of stock. When an employee was asked if there was anyone working the dairy department that could check something in the back the response was, "No. January is bad because everyone got a lot of hours for Christmas so they reduced everyone's hours for January. February will be the same, probably" Which is the other problem with Flat Rock. Most of the employees are rude. There are a few nice ones, but usually any questions are met with an attitude of, "Your interruption is harshing my work flow. Begone annoying customer person." Checkout....yikes. Bring a magazine or book on tape. The sense of urgency is seriously lacking. How about a smile or look me when I say, "Hi". Usually their response to me saying hi is, "MPERKS". Yes, let me get that in the system immediately! I get a kinder interaction from the automated U-Scan robot. But then the U-Scan is hit and miss. It seems to need employee assistance often. If you are in the Flat Rock area try the Woodhaven location. They have a better selection and the staff seems friendlier. If that store tanks maybe I'll be forced to become a Wal-Mart shopper. This location is very clean and well kept. I always manage to find everything I need and prefer to shop at this grocery store than the other surrounding locations. My only wish is that they carried more organic and fresh fruits and vegetables. Sometimes, depending on the time, I go and they are out of some items. Another thing I would like to add would be the addition of an electric charging station for electric hybrid vehicles. I've seen many Meijer locations across the state with this addition but not at this location. read more

I have shopped here several times since it opened and wanted it to be my main grocery destination. Unfortunately, the contiual poor service at the Deli Counter is a huge problem. The employee's need some Customer Appreciation training. Be aware that the Meat Counter keeps Banker Hours and doesn't open until 9 am. That's not convenient for the early shoppers, like me. So I'm back to the Woodhaven store . What a shame this store has such poor management. read more

Meijer used to seal the bake good containers, they don't anymore so I buy my baked goods at Kroger they seal them.

Loved this location. They have so much more than other Meijer locations. However, it depends on what you're willing to trade for poor service. I was treated extremely rude and laughed at during checkout. I cannot believe this is something a company like this would stand for. I hope they can make the necessary changes. read more
