Wow, for a upscale market, this is one of the best. Everything looks so good. They have a wonderful selection of produce, seafood, meats, and their deli looks very good too. Footprint is not the biggest but they have everything. A lot custom brands that you don't see anywhere else. Nino Salvaggio's is a similar supermarket that has the same vibe. read more

I don't always get to shop at Westborn Market, but when I do, I have a blast! I go to Dearborn sporadically, and always find myself stopping here to enjoy this beautiful grocer. It's a more custom grocer, and they have a wonderful selection of produce, deli items, meats and seafood. But the flowers here are fantastic! The layouts pretty decent and they have a large product range of items to choose from. Their prices are competitive but not overly expensive. Since I live far away, I usually don't buy anything like meats or perishables because it's to far of a drive. I love that they have a great selection of items here and I could be a regular if there was one in my area. They have fresh made hummus, middle eastern foods, the whole thing. The staff here seems friendly but I haven't had much interaction with them, so I can't say one way or the other. Very clean store, well stocked and a great addition to the metro Detroit area. read more

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience due to the behavior of two employees--a girl with short black curly hair who had chains hanging from her jeans, and a boy with the same hairstyle and similar demeanor. Instead of assisting customers, they sat in the back of the store, laughing, talking, and touching each other in a way that was very inappropriate for a workplace setting. When I needed help, I was completely ignored. Despite making it clear I required assistance, neither of them acknowledged me or made any effort to provide support. Their attitude was disrespectful, unprofessional, and made me feel uncomfortable. I want to emphasize that I love Westborn Market. I'm a frequent shopper and have always had positive experiences--this was the first time I've ever encountered anything like this. It was really disappointing, especially because I hold this store in such high regard. I hope management will look into this, as customers deserve to be treated with respect and receive the help they come in for. read more

Westborn Market was definitely a favorite spot in Dearborn for all things gourmet and delicious. From bunches of fresh herbs to amazing bakery items and super fresh produce. I found gift items like beautiful candles made in Michigan and Items from local pastry shops as well as baked in house treats. The market was super clean, well stocked and organized and the staff was helpful and we navigated our way around the large market. The store is well kept up and very organized my only problem was the customers service , you come to buy things and they treat you like you're bothering them , the blonde short cashier was extremely rude and unprofessional she barely talked she had a mean mugging look on her face and just overall was very rude. I will not be returning because this is not my first time dealing with this it gets worse every-time you go in there. For anyone visiting from out of town, this definitely reminds of Gelson's and Whole Foods. A very nice, quality grocery store in Michigan. Excellent selection of local produce and their deli selection was great. Picked up an amazing ham sandwich in the deli case and it was unbelievable for $7! So delicious and the kale & edamame salad we picked up hit the spot. Whether you're grabbing a quick meal or picking up groceries, this is definitely a go-to spot to enjoy whenever in the area. Holy wow! That's all I can say. We live on an island, so fresh produce comes from the garden. We do hit stores when on the mainland, but when visiting my son who goes to U of M in Dearborn, he took me to Westborn market. I was in love. You don't see markets like this much anymore. Bought plums that lasted 2 weeks! Needless to say, I'm back visiting my son in Dearborn and here I am writing this review in their parking lot. Friendly staff, great produce with a wide selection! So I do this thing...every time I see my son we cook for him, do dishes, and fill his fridge and freezer. From now on, he is getting his fridge filled by us from Westborn Market. read more

I love this place! I go for the fruit and this time I went for the peaches the Southern ones and the Michigan peaches are very good only 1.99 a point. Look for the Michigan tomatoes you won't regret it! I also picked up so antipasto salad and some of their pickles. Yes things are a bit higher there but the quality makes it worth it!. They also have a deli counter, fish counter and meat counter.they have hot foods there they have sandwiches, hot soups, different types of breads oh there is a bakery as well! I am from out of town but shop there whenever visiting my 91 year old Mom. Great store and selections but I truly believe customer service is lacking....I was just there first weekend of November - 2 times actually. Both times the check-out associates were most unfriendly and were so busy talking amongst themselves, I think they forgot they had customers. Both times - when I murmured something, the lady behind me (who is local) advised me, "this is the way it is now". Too bad. Also, my Mom (91) shops there; still drives but uses her walker when shopping. It would REALLY be nice if an Associate would help her take her bags to the car - just a thought. read more

I love Westborn market, I've been going there for many years, I go here every week to get my steaks, and their seafood, Louie, and some other things that I would never buy at Meijers or places like that!! Everybody here is always friendly, especially the guy that works in the produce, it's always a pleasure to see him!! The one thing I do not like at Westborn is every time I go in there in the fruits and vegetable section, there is always some old person with their fingers picking through the grapes and cherries and taken what they want and putting what they don't want in another bag, that is disgusting to me, when they had the olive bar where you could get your own, I seen a little girl sticking her fingers in the olive juice and then sucking on her fingers and then putting her fingers back in the juice and do it again, that must be the reason why you can't get your own olives there anymore!! other than that I love this place!!! read more

Jacob and I did a lot of our grocery shopping at Westborn during our Shop Local challenge in January. There isn't much I can say about Westborn that others haven't already covered: great selection, good customer service, expensive, cramped. It has good sides and bad sides. We spent about $20-30 more here per week than we ever did at Meijer, and mostly on things that we KNEW we could get for much less elsewhere. After our challenge ended, Jacob and I decided we'd still get our lunch meats and dinner meats here, along with other items we can't find elsewhere. I bought roses on Valentines Day and the flowers never opened. I'm so frustrated because this is not the first time that I've had dozen of roses not blossom. But to make matters worst the usual $12.99 a dozen turns into $39.99 (obviously because of Valentines) which I bought two dozens. They tell you when you buy any flowers to hang on to the receipt and you can return them no questions asked. Well I did just that and my goodness, they had 101 excuses on why and its been too long, blah blah blah! I wouldn't of been that upset but at $40 a dozen, and I'm pretty sure the flowers at Krogers or Walmart would of been a better pick than Westborn. So I will never be caught in there buying any floral anything from them again. My next stop will be English Gardens, hopefully they don't get their same flowers from the Westborn distributor! I was better off picking some up at a corner of a gas station corner....very disappointing! read more

This is my favorite market in Dearborn.They always have everything I want and need. The produce is always fresh and I can find whatever I need. The bakery is delicious the cakes are amazing & the cinnamon rolls are by far my favorite!!!:) The sushi is fresh and I can't forget my favorite yogurt & milk. The staff is also friendly and helpful. Been coming here for year and it's always been a great grocery store! It has a nice selection of produce, fast deli with high quality meats, great fish area, and nice hot food to go section. If you're looking for some beer or wine well they have that covered too with IPAs and a nice selection of Pinot Noirs, Cabernets and more. The employees are always friendly and store clean. This market also has a flower section with a florist so if you are looking to buy a nice bouquet for that someone special you can get that here too. One thing to know about this place is you are going to get a high end product but with that you can expect to pay a little bit more, and some of the shelf products cost a bit more than a big name grocery store would have them. read more

With regard to their soup bar, per se, they terminated the free sampling. An employee informed me that they took this action for reason that their customers were leaving sampling-cups littered throughout the store. Too bad that the customers are being blamed for the store's elimination of pre-sampling. Sometimes their soups are too cold, and other times, burned the roof of my mouth. Sometimes the soups taste really good, and other times awful. When you get to sample, you get to know what you're buying ahead of time. read more

Stopped by on my way home from a father's day Fuddruckers meet up. I got the most amazing peaches here. Ripe, succulent, oozing with juice that runs down your chin as you feast. My husband was a real fan. The rest of the fare here was happy as well. Spendy of course but that is par for the course with fresh, creative and the fashionable style going on in this market. Sometimes I just don't care as much as others. Expensive bothers me when it sucks, beyond that I tend to shrug it off. As you can tell from my reviews if something costs me more I do use a higher bar to judge it as well. Rest assured that the money you spend here will be on quality product. Meat, fish, deli. Mmmmm and a good amount of cheese. Everything we bought or sampled was at least tasty. No clunkers. I missed that white people sushi though. I really love going to this store. The other day I thought that I'd hit Kroger just to get a couple low-cost items... well, that parking lot was so annoying I moseyed right on down the street and went to Westborn Market instead. Funny thing is I always hated the parking at Westborn... until I went to Kroger (the one on the north side of the street in Dbn). Now I'm thinking it's just not so bad. Overall there is great produce, service, and selection. There are definitely some missing items - most importantly a selection of decent dark chocolate. Really, WM, no good chocolate? They have Lindt's and Ghirardelli - "eh" to both. Black & Green, maybe? Or Endangered Species? There are a whole host of other awesome options - obviously not considered by the purchaser at WM. That makes me very, very sad actually... almost to the point of 3 stars. But since the rest of the store is so nice, I landed on 4. read more

A couple of years ago Westborn closed down their flower shop across the street and expanded the Fruit Market to bring the flowers in there. Initially I thought I might be a little cramped since it's already a bit on the small side but now I get it--SMART MOVE, WESTBORN! Yesterday I ran in to pick up some flowers for my mom's birthday and a cake. Loved that I didn't have to hit to two different spots for quality on both sides. The flowers aren't cheap but they are LOVELY. I got her a yellow bouquet of gerber daisies, roses, hydrangea and a few other wild flowers. What I really love is that they lined the clear vase in lemon slices so it looks really lovely and has a light citrus smell that makes the bouquet even more fabulous. Then I was able to take my bouquet and stroll about 20 feet to the bakery section and pick out a fancy cake to take home. Strawberries and cream. Aw yeah. One stop shopping at it's best! read more

Excellent produce. Solid meat counter and deli. I'm willing to pay more for these items because it takes a lot of inventory and work to maintain quality and selection. The dry grocery section is too far gone, though. While you may find similiar prices on some items, others cost more than double. I don't have any respect for that. If you're going to be pricey, keep a well curated, appropriately priced selection. The design of the market encourages you to get lost and confused, and thus buy more than you need or want. That's great for retail. Unfortunately, it also leads to too-long, confusing lines for everything from the juice cooler to the meat and deli counters and cashiers. read more

Very clean market with a very good assortment of cheeses. The produce is very expensive. The girls at registers are very friendly and welcoming. Now, where is the management hiding? Where are the adults. This place is run by a bunch of young kids. Soups are very good but once again very expensive. The meats are very high quality. A ribeye goes for about $13.99. Is it worth it? At times! This market has some very nice kids working but could use more adults with more knowledge of the produce. Flowers are the jewel to this place. A dozen roses are about $9. read more

My favorite grocery store in Michigan! Despite their renovation in 2005 which nearly doubled the size, store is still not big like Farmer's Jack, Krogers, or Hillers. It's a perfect neighborhood grocer size providing fresh fruits, veggie, meat, and premade sandwiches. They sell Dearborn Brand meat products like ham, hamburger patties, and hotdogs Their wine selection is pretty good. Only issue I have with this place is their tiny parking lot where vehicles become tangled up. LUNCH OPTION: Many people purchase Westborn's quality sandwich or salad and drive over to eat at a bench in Ford Field. During summer, they often have a grill out selling hamburgers and hotdogs. read more

I know you all want to go home but you have hours for a reason. What a great place to shop for groceries! About half the space is dedicated to fruits and veggies. They're beautifully displayed, and it smells amazingly good when you walk past the bright heaps of fruit. The other half of the store is dedicated to a deli, meat counter, and packaged foods. Most of the traditional grocery store stuff is upscale. For instance, you can find a few boxes of Pillsbury cake mixes, but the Ghiardelli brownie mixes are more prominently displayed. They have an entire bar of different kinds of olives, as well as a salad bar. If I lived in Dearborn, I'd do most of my produce shopping here. Parking in downtown Dearborn almost always requires quarters for the meter, but the market has its own private lot, and finding parking there wasn't too hard, even though it was hopping when I was there on a bot summer afternoon. read more

Westborn Market has been my place for over 20. It is a bit pricey, but I felt that the personalized service and special items, decorating and special items made it worth the difference. To my dismay today I found that they eliminated the unique deli counter. I always bought my import Swiss cheese there and tried various lunch meats. The courtesy level was high. The varied selection was absolutely great. Now there is a very limited area for standard lunch meats and cheese. Where the deli has been, there is now a selection of mundane take-out food. This was a highly popular section of the store. Now it is sterile and like the average market. If the fish and fresh, unwrapped meat areas are gone, I will be gone, too, as will all the friends I referred to Westborn Market. You are losing the personal touch that made the deli area so popular with your customers. A very bad move! read more

From a range of different flowers, cheeses, fresh soups, a salad bar, meats, produce, pastries, coffee, sushi, to cotton candy grapes!! Yes cotton candy grapes. I have been looking for these babies for 2 years now and I never thought to look for them at Westborn until someone mentioned it to me. They are normally priced at $4.99/lb but I got them on sale for $3.99/lb. Coming from a cotton candy lover, these grapes are so good. I also tried their lobster bisque and it was pretty darn good! It tasted like the ones served at some of the finest restaurants! I do have to say, the prices at Westborn are a little high compared to other grocery stores. read more

I love the build your own salad bar here and their dressings are awesome. They have a wonderfully laid out produce section and everything always looks so amazing and appetizing. Be prepared for the lunch crowd coming from Ford or the suppliers during the week. I love grabbing a salad and going to one of the parks, preferably by Outer Drive during my lunch breaks over at this location or Ford field off of Brady Street. I will often buy all my produce here during my lunch break so I don't have to go on the way home that day. Convenient to have this specialized store close to work, lucky to have the same store not far from home too. I always buy my lebneh and truffle oil from here and it's always in stock and I do like their gf chocolate pizelles too. read more

I hate to write a 3 star review, but please, please, if you are going to charge $13.99 for a 6-pack of Rogue beer, please make sure it's at least fresh. I bought two different six-packs tonight and the Rogue tastes obviously old and flat. I go here to purchase beers that may be released more limitedly, but if they aren't fresh, I can not justify spending the money. I will come here for apples during the season because they do have a nice variety, and the store also has a good selection of produce otherwise, albeit pricey. I have no problem paying a premium price for high-quality and unique products, but when freshness is overlooked, I will choose to purchase those items elsewhere. You will find a good selection of GT's kombucha here, as well as coffee beans and baked goods. They also have a wonderful selection of plants in the floral department. Needed a thank you gift for my neighbor who has been helping me out so much, so I thought about a gift basket and knew that fruit markets usually have a nice assortment. Went to Westborn on Michigan Ave., and lo and behold I was not disappointed. This was my first time at Westborn and I loved it! Two for the price of one! OMG, so I picked one up for my neighbor - all Michigan products in it and then one for their adult daughter who also has helped me out in the last year. Prices were quite expensive, but the products were first rate! The cashier asked if I needed help loading my car and I said no. Went to my car and opened up my trunk - sat my purse and keys in the trunk and unloaded the cart. Grabbed my purse and closed the trunk - oh no!!!! Left my keys in there. Standing there not knowing what to do, 2 ladies came up to me and decided to drive me all the way to my home so I can get my extra keys!!!! They were 2 angels sent to me. So, I definitely am a fan of Westborn and think that angels shop there! read more
