I've never been to a Kroger before. My brother in law asked us to stop by and pick up some cupcakes for the 4th of July bbq. The store was pretty big, clean and bright. They had all the departments as other grocery stores. I only looked through the ready to eat section. They had fried chicken dinners for $7 and a whole roasted chicken for $5. We picked up chocolate and vanilla cupcakes in a box of 12 for $8.99. They must have been good because when I looked they were all gone. Everyone said that they were good. read more

Two times the delivery people did not follow instructions for my order and the first time it was over an hour late, this time I never received it. I had to call customer service and get my refund back, I filed a complaint and told the person this does not make Kroger look good and they need to reprimand delivery persons who are to lazy to follow instructions, especially when delivering to a senior living community. read more

I truly dislike coming to this location so much so that I started shopping at Meijers for roughly fours and couldn't be happier every time I go to this location either there's no carts or no one working on the bottle return. Such as my last visit a month ago only one bottle machine worked and it kept shutting down due to the machine hitting its capacity! My family has been using Kroger curbside pickup since the beginning of the pandemic. We've tried over a half dozen Krogers at this point. Some tend to be better than others and some seem to better stocked in particular items. The Eastborn location (as we call this location on Greenfield) tends to be one of the better ones in terms of having items in stock. I also call this the flower Kroger's because they generally have healthy flowers in stock. Get your inexpensive roses here, people! On a bonus note, two times they've given us free bags of samples as a surprise in our curbside pickup at this location. read more

I give it 5 stars because of one employee that made the experience palatable. I worked at Kroger in dearborn in the bakery department with Laura J. She is an excellent trainer. Her customer service skills are phenomenal. She is the best cake decorator I have ever seen. She is very patient and thoughtful with new employees. She did not expect you to learn things overnight that she has practiced for years. I took a picture of her skills in progress. Due to a staffing issue she is not doing special orders but she can write on a cake if you get there early enough. I made sure the bakery was cleaned. This is the worst Kroger ever. It's always a mess. The restroom is a pigsty. Their recycling center is usually down and looks like a cyclone hit it. If you call customer service about it this local store doesn't respond. I avoid it like crazy but went in tonight and, as usual, no carts. They redid this place and it has become my number one place to shop. Cheap prices. Quality meats. Fresh produce and so very friendly. Heck I once had someone ask if I wanted help unloading my cart into my car. That is borderline creepy nice. This Kroger is so accessible to my work but even if it weren't I'd consider driving to get here. It is well stocked with good products. They have added a fun cheese area, good prepped foods (sushi, soup, sandwiches, chicken wings, dips, Middle eastern foods) so I can swing by and get food for work and the sales are incredible. I love their ecoupons and earning fuel points (double on the weekends) to use to get cheap gas across the street. Take a survey once a week and earn more fuel points. I have been getting between 10 and 40 cents off of gas that is already as cheap or cheaper than any other place in town. I have been getting things like 88¢ chicken drums and thighs, $1.88 skinless boneless breasts, 3.99 lb. 80/20 ground chuck, nice fish for 4.99-6.99 lb, ribeye and N.Y. strip steaks for 6.99 lb, buy one get one free chuck roasts and pork chops, the list goes on and on. If you follow the circular you can eat really nice meats dirt cheap. The quality here beats other Kroger stores, any Meijer and God knows any Wallyworld. They also have great prices on veggies. They also do great specials on soon to be toast type veggies so I can pick up a pack of mushrooms or pre-sliced veggies for stir-fry for dirt cheap. One day I got a big tub of mango salsa for 2.49, a tub of summer squash and zucchini for 3 bucks, all cut up and ready to go. I often get deals on pre-sliced peppers and onions and mushrooms. Cheap and makes prepping dinner a breeze. The bakery items here are good. I especially love the La Brea bakery breads, the coffee cakes, the fruit pies and the fabulous nighttime deals on bagels. Many a night I have gotten a bag of assorted fresh bagels for two bucks, they toast up just fine and in a pinch they make great croutons or bread crumbs. Dairy is Michigan milk products and taste super fresh. They hands down have the best cottage cheese, especially if you go full fat. The store brands at Kroger have never failed me at any rate. Staff is just on the ball now. Asking you if you need help while you are wandering the aisles. Huh? That never happens. I once had an employee help me decide which McCormick Montreal seasoning (on sale for a dollar!) would work best with my burger plans. The Worchester Pub style was even a hit! This place kind of reminds me what Holiday Market used to be back in its glory days! Happiness. Cheap, quality and helpful. I am a fan. You can get everything from flowers and cards, excellent chocolate and cheese to cheap toilet paper and cat litter. The only downside? Their deli department sucks. Too small and the staff there is the worst part of the store, so slow and not terribly friendly. Eh. otherwise I would seriously five star it. read more

My mother went earlier to buy Kroger water. They had them 5 for $10.00. Limit 5/person. My mother had 10 with her and explained that the other 5 were for my grandfather who is disabled. With complete disrespect, she didn't take that in consideration, neither did she have manners to explain the rules politely and accordingly. The cashier (name unknown, since she was watching the self-pay check out) was so mean, disrespectful, unprofessional in explaining the rules of the store. My mother ( Arab-American) then left the store, came back later after at least couple hours. She grabbed the 5 cases of water to buy for my disabled grandpa. The lady came out of the blue, rushed to the cash register intended that my mother was standing at and told her not to allow my mother to buy them. My mother got frustrated and nervous, didn't know what to do and left the rest of the other groceries behind ( which would have costed at least $60.00). She acted very racist towards my mother. I asked my mother why didn't she talk to the supervisor. She said it didn't occur to her to ask, as she assumed that the (white-female lady) who came running from the other end of the store was the manager herself. Frankly speaking, I have almost never been satisfied with the customer services at Kroger in Dearborn. If there is 0/5 rating, I would have gladly posted it. I should say though, that although most of them are disrespectful, there are some that are still decent, such as one (African-American male) that assisted me and my mother about a month ago, while having some difficulties at the self-check-out. (Thumbs up for such great people with respect; Unfortunately I don't remember his name as I'm very bad with names, but I vividly remember his smiling face). To conclude, Kroger, located in Dearborn, has just lost a valuable customer and my advice is if they keep treating customers like that, they will definitely shut down sooner than they think. A word of advice, I reiterate that whether that white-female lady was the manager or not, Kroger supervisor and directors should pay close attention into their staff being hired, especially when the community is a diverse community. One main thing to teach their staff members is cultural competency. People who lack such a skill will never be able to handle problem-solving situations, neither would they be able to bring up the productivity and profit outcomes intended for the company they are working for. read more

Beyond done!! I have given this store a few chances and I don't plan on returning. This store is not only disgusting the staff is completely rude if you can't even find them and the older lady that works nights at self check is so nosy and rude about it, she acts of everyone is stealing. When I say disgusting it's because you can find refrigerated items laying just anywhere. I have gone before and found chicken nuggets boxes (yes boxes) that expired 10 months ago!! When I brought to their attention and they could have cared less. There is empty boxes everywhere and any of their Friday Saturday sale items are never in stock. Service here is horrible slow! Ask for something out and it takes them too long to find it in the back. Long lines at bottle return, with one machine working and no employees to change bins. The day I came only one bin working and 10 people in line. Come to find they can't find the keys to open it up. WTH!! Not great customer service , no wonder they are losing business. This is my go to Kroger since it's less than a mile away from my home. It's been completely renovated and I love it!! They now offer fresh made sushi and cooked meals and not to mention the place looks awesome! They are always stocked with what I need. Sometimes, if I don't see it in the front, I ask one of the workers to check if they have it in the back, more often than not, they do! Check out is quick since I use the self checkout-out station. (They added a whole new row of self-check out). I come here very often so I can say that this is a great Kroger! Always stocked, clean and convenient. read more

This is the closest Kroger to my house, and I feel like a part of me dies every time I have to go in. There are never enough workers, and the ones that are there (with the exception of like 1 person) seem miserable. They are out of stock of things I need like 99% of the time. It is always super crowded, no matter that time of day it is. Idk what would improve this place...maybe make it twice as large, and employ four times as many people. read more

Don't use pickup! Friend who has used their pickup multiple times asked me to pick up for her. They told me I had to have her ID and credit card since I'm a "new customer" despite it all being in her name. Imagine catching a mistake as the cashier is ringing you up and pointing it out to the cashier who tells you "it will come off in the end" she finishes checking you out you check the receipt and show her she tells you that you need to go to customer service... customer service line has 8 people in it already.. most of the time just 1 clerk that processes customer service and lotto and Kroger money transactions... sometimes they will have an extra clerk for return and exchanges only... best case scenario 8 minutes in line to get your 3.50 back... worst case scenario 15+++ minutes read more

Went to Kroger at about 8:45 am and went immediately to the customer service desk where I was the only o e there. No rep behind the counter for 11 mins finally I got a person filling mobile orders to page someone to customer service. 3 mins and finally a woman named Stacey (manager) came to the counter drinking a coffee with an obvious attitude. I wanted to have my purchase adjusted to the sale price and she replied they don't do that. Really? I said are you sure this is customer service? Nobody does that she said. Well then I would like to return it I replied. She then said no returns during pandemic. How convenient is that. Hello Meijer here I come. I had a recent friend retire from there who has told me so many things. She could not wait to leave. Some Kroger's are better than others but this one just plain sucks. read more

Of the three Kroger stores in Dearborn, this one is--by far--the worst in every respect. Sadly, this particular Kroger seems to be returning to its former condition: dirty, unfriendly, poorly-stocked and a refuge for far too many careless and thoughtless customers. At 3:00 p.m. today, I needed a few items and dropped by. My first problem was parking. There were lots of spaces, but most of them were blocked by shopping carts that customers just left after unloading their groceries. Curious, I took a few minutes and counted 37 "free-range" shopping carts left by customers too lazy to return them to the cart corral. This is almost always the case at this store and, on windy days, it must create a bonanza for body shops from all of the scratched and dented cars the carts create. Once inside, I stumbled across a broken package of frozen peas scattered across the floor in the frozen food section, aisles blocked by stacked cartons (with no employees in sight), a refrigerated pasta display case totally empty of products, and a self-service check out machine that refused to accept coins (my purchase was $13.35). Had I stayed longer, I dread to think of what additional messes would have awaited me. Not a single customer or employee in the store on this visit was happy, even moderately so. If I worked there, I would not be either. read more

EDIT: This place got renovated about nine months to a year ago, when the Kroger by Schaefer & Michigan shut down (woe!) and this Kroger turned into the main one for the area. The renovation was honestly the most amazing thing ever to happen. A lot of workers got transferred from the Schaefer location, so quality of service went up drastically, the deli counter got a whole lot more expansive, the organics section is vastly improved, etc etc. I would say that the quality of this location is near to the quality of the location at Michigan & Outer Drive now. I still can't find anything at either place, since I think Kroger went through a company wide reorganization about five years ago of how they used to be organized for most of my life -- the reorganization was gradually applied to stores as they aged and required renovations. But anyway. Just because I can't find a damn thing doesn't mean anything for you! ORIGINAL: This used to be the Farmer Jack on Greenfield at Michigan Ave. It's now a Kroger. I updated the name and added the correct address. This place is nasty. I go here sometimes when I have to, because it's across the street from the Dearborn Civic Center/Fitness Center and it's convenient after I go swimming. On Tuesday, there were two huge flies buzzing merrily around inside of the deli case while the two workers both chit-chatted with a customer/friend. I really just wanted some spinach dip, but I obviously gave it a pass and got a prewrapped sandwich instead. The whole place is dirty, especially the front entryway, which reeks of rotted soda pop from the recycling machines. This Kroger has really improved. Staff is always working hard and smiling. Walk in to the beautiful aroma of the floral arrangements. The girl in charge is always willing to help and give you the freshest most beautiful flowers. Floors are much cleaner, shelves always neatly stocked. I'm very impressed. read more

7 22 2019-Cashier "Angela" made it quite clear that she did not want to service me today. She spoke pleasantly to the guy in front of me telling him "have a nice day" however as I started putting my items on the conveyor, she not once, but twice aggressively slided the item separator in my direction. This should have been the first red flag that "Angela" was not happy I was in her line. When I got across from the register, she did not greet me but instead started man handling my items and plopping them down quickly. I ignored this and continued to put my items on the conveyor. The final insult was that "Angela" proceeded to put my change on the armrest instead of in my hand. When I was leaving, I noticed a pack of strawberries was not packed. I mentioned this to her to which she screamed "those are NOT yours!" I have never been treated so badly by a Kroger employee. The employees here are usually helpful and friendly however this experience makes me not want to come back. read more

HORRIBLE. I can't say one positive thing about my experience, not one. Despite there being a couple of hundred people in the store (at 5PM), only two lanes were open. The fresh meat counter was jammed and the boneless chicken looked awful. Finally had to walk away without getting any meat. I buy organic which normally you can purchase all in one aisle. Nope. This Kroger has organic items spread throughout the store, making it impossible to find anything. I spoke with a Kroger associate who was collecting for a Clicklist customer and said "yes, I agree, it's really dumb and I waste so much time". One aisle was completely blocked by stock carts from the back. We waited in line for 30 minutes - no joke, 30 MINUTES (!!!!) to pay for our groceries. The customer was arguing with a cashier for 20 of those minutes (again, I am not exaggerating) about her WIC card that she pulled out of her $500 Louis Vuitton wallet. Send her to customer service so we are not waiting behind her for 1/2 hour. Kroger corporate - if you are reading this, do something about this location. Absolutely unacceptable and you should be ashamed. This store is a joke. Two lanes open at 5PM??? Really??? read more

Ever since the expansion I find myself avoiding this Kroger. I used to alternate between this and the one on the north side of Michigan. But now this one is just too big, it takes forever to get the things I need because they are so spaced out. And if you forget something, forget walking back to find it unless you have hours to kill. The worst, though, is what they've done to the parking lot - which now is treacherous. I much prefer my quick & easy Kroger on the north side. read more
