I don't leave reviews often about things. But this time I have to. This store is always a mess when I come in. The managers let the employees listen to loud music while they work instead of instructing them to put headphones in. One of the managers does this himself as well and it's very annoying while shopping. They most of the time don't have half the things that I need. I only come here because it is by my place of work and I need to shop there for work. But today was the last straw. The credit card system was down. The place was more of a disaster than usual. The manager wasn't very nice. (The same one who plays his music loudly). I will just have to wake myself up earlier (even though I already have to get up at 3:30) to go further down the street to Walmart. And I have been coming to this Meijer for 11 years. It wasn't until the last 3-4 that the place wasn't a disaster. read more

I love coming here, on top of all the saving from mperks and coupons, this place is just convenient. they are always stocked, and saving on clothing is perfect with 3 girls, since they want to change looks so often. I don't like the fast food service, the food is always dry and looks stale. Bathroom are always clean. Pharmacy staff is also great. They actualy work with you and are very helpful. read more

Buyer beware! If you use the curbside pick up, be sure to carefully check your receipt before you leave the area and your order when you get home. Complete ripoff! Yesterday I was over charged for three items, charged for items that were not in the bag and told that 7 items were not available when in fact they actually were in stock. I called the store and management apparently could care less and never bothered to get back to me. I really like the idea of pick up, unfortunately this was the 5th and final time I had to call about order screw ups. I will not be back. I heard Walmart does a good job, may try there. read more

It's a Meijer. It is therefore awesome. Shelves are stocked. Aisles are clean. Checkout lines move quickly enough when busy. Produce looks fresh-ish. read more

This is a good Meijer but it seems like sometimes selection is limited in some areas compared to other Meijers (like clothing and some household items). It seems a little bit less organized than other Meijers too (like the bakery area) and certain areas are messy (again like the bakery area). I've seen other Meijers which are much cleaner so that's disappointing. Meijers has great prices though and this one is no exception. There is enough aisle space and the produce section is good and always a good source for sale items I don't think every Meijers can look new so I can't take off stars for that but it can at least be a bit cleaner and more organized. read more

Uuuuuh this place again. This place has good prices but totally bad quality, and don't get me started on the curbside, they are soooooooooooooooooooo horrible they forgot half of the stuff that I ordered and gave us things that we didn't even order, I was looking forward to getting my groceries while not walking in the store, but it was really bad, advice for the future, do not get curbside, it is root of all wasting, and evil. If you have already ordered curbside I feel so bad for you, but I don't blame you, but you walked right into the bear trap you put your money in, and that is just the start, when I wasn't smart enough I got fish from Meijer and saw it the next day it died, the same thing happened for weeks, every week I would do the dishes mop the floors all to get dead fish, some of the time dead fish are in the tank that they have there, there was one fish that I had that lived 1 month. I think the way the store is made is really bad, I found cucumbers in the chips aisle. So don't come here, never. read more

I have lived in Canton since 2003 and shopped at this Meijer at least weekly since then. It used to be a pretty decent store. The past couple years that has changed and recently it's been awful. Since the beginning of 2018, I've started going to Kroger across the street. Many of the prices are comparable and the experience is so much more pleasant. Everything previous reviews say about out of stock products is accurate and they are frequently understaffed. I have complained on multiple occasions and it is not improving the situation. At one point, I took pictures of empty shelves and, a few weeks later, showed them to a bunch of 'suits' who were standing around doing nothing in the produce section (its very unusual to see them on the floor at all) to point out the problem. They laughed at me. Honestly laughed at me. They were like 'what do you want us to do about it?" That was when the miserable looks on the employees faces started to make sense to me. The employees work hard. They don't look happy, but they're pleasant. Everything I have seen leads me to believe management is VERY bad. I never see 'suits' on evenings or weekends and I have NEVER seen a 'suit' step up, open up a lane, and start checking people out when things get bad. They sicken me. And, I feel sorry for the employees. I'm confident the Canton Meijer has 'good' numbers because it's right in the middle of a big shopping district. But, those numbers are not a reflection of how well the store is run. Management does nothing to earn those numbers and, if my experience is typical, they actually deter shoppers. I still go to Meijer for a few products because it's a half mile from my house. But, I dread it and I don't expect to find what I need. I was there yesterday evening and the shelves for Thomas's mini bagels were empty and the we got the last loaf of Sara Lee whole grain white bread. And I saw lots and lots of empty shelves...and no 'suits' anywhere in sight. So sad.... read more

It's a Meijer (or Meijer's if you grew up south of Van Born Rd.). I typically only go here if I need cold cuts, liquor, a can of spray paint, and a hamster, but when that time comes nigh this is the place I go. read more

I went in early on Wed, 9/3/18, about 4:00am to quietly shop before I went for minor surgery. I also wanted to get my flu shot, so when I was finished shopping it was 7am. I knew I had an hour's wait for the Pharmacy to open, so enjoyed sitting still and just talking to the occasional customer. Celeste, the Pharmacy Manager, was already there setting up behind closed doors. She came right out and said, "Come on in, I see by the paperwork in your hands you've probably come for a flu shot..." She did her usual magic, wherein you hardly feel the injection, covered all the safety bases with me regarding the vaccination, and general positive talk, and had me processed and on my way well before 7:30am. I thought that so generous and special. She had every right to wait until 8am when business hours started, but she went the extra mile in every direction possible. That's what makes me drive 12 miles to Canton Meijer---dedication and friendliness, as well as professionalism, such as Celeste practices. While visiting family in Canton, I stopped here to pick up some pencils. I couldn't find them, but a very kind employee helped me find them! (and didn't judge me for the fact they were right in front of my face either. always a plus for understanding!) I think her name was Amber? something that started with an A. she was very sweet! (And even better the pencils were cheaper than I was expecting them to be. cha-ching!) read more

Where do I start?!? I walked into the clothing/healthcare side of the store and cut across the store in front of the registers to get to groceries to hear two employees discussing a third employee who was "hiding," couldn't be located and wasn't responding to calls over the radio. That's never good! I started at the deli area around 6:30 pm-ish. You know the area where people go to pick up prepared food on their way home from work only to find one employee fulfilling customer requests. Another was washing items and totally ignoring the line of customers in the deli area. Finally gave up on that idea. Maybe the missing employee worked in the deli area??? Found alternative prepared food in the cases between the deli & produce sections. Moved on to the beer section to find an awesome selection of warm beer that filled an entire aisle. Staying at a local hotel and wanting COLD beer for tonight, I kept looking for the cold beer only to find a puny little cold beer case full of mostly mainstream beer (see picture). I have seen better selections of cold beer in convenience stores. The only bright spot here was the friendly checkout cashier (Karen). read more

It took forever for them to get over to the pet aisle. I needed a goldfish. I contacted many staff members for help, but I still managed to wait 40 minutes. On top of this, when the man finally came to help, he obviously didn't know what he was doing. The fish were 10¢, he tried to charge me $1.99. Luckily, the lady at the front caught his mistake. I have shopped at the Canton-Ford road Meijer store for 15 years shopping in person-now I use the curbside service, which I like. I always find the store employees to be courteous and friendly-of course some more than others. the "Curbside Shoppers" are very good, they do a great job finding all my products-bagging, wrapping those that need it. The only complaint I find is is that there is always 1 or 2 items they say they " were out of". When I shopped in person that would happen occasionaly but in curbside it happens with almost every order. Because of the convience of Curbside service I can overlook this. read more

Ocean perch from fish counter purchased took out of package when i got home to remove bones and it had a amonia smell and fishy smell took back right away so they would pull from counter asked for a manager she said she could not smell or get near she told the service desk person just refund my money and he put on shelf waited on next person i was afraid they would poison someone!!! i was the only person who cared. read more

This meijer is wonderful! They have great staff with people like Becky leading the way. I just used the curbside pickup for the 1st time and man it was great! James was my shopper and he did a great job, he picked out great produce for us and also gave us a free swag bag of chips, pop and bar (the kids had gone before we got home) and a free carside to go for our next order. What a great new service. This will save me a lot of time. read more

Don't buy ANY electronics at Meijer's. I bought a Uniden cordless telephone. After 4 mos, the sound quality became unintelligible. I could hear myself loudly garbled in the earpiece and when others spoke they were garbled. When I bought the phone they sold me a "one year warrantee" at the register for $4.99. I assumed that would cover any problems with the phone for at least a year. NOT SO. When I bought it back to the store, the woman at the returns desk gave me a small brochure and said I had to call the number inside. I sat on a bench inside the store and called. I hung on the phone for 5 minutes after the recording said someone would be right with me. When I explained the issue to a nice employee on his break sitting next to me he brought over the woman who 'runs the store'. She said that the people I had to call was a 'separate company' even though the word "MEIJERS" was in the 800 number I was calling. When I finally was able to get someone on the line after waiting for 10 minutes, they told me that my ONLY alternative was to send them the receipt ALONG WITH TEN DOLLARS (!!) and they would send me another Uniden phone. I told them where to go. The only reason that I would shop in Meijer's after that is to get Kraft salmon flavorerd cream cheese...they are the only ones to sell it locally. DON'T BUY ANYTHING ELECTRONIC IN THIS STORE! read more

I love that Meijer offers curbside now. I've always chosen Meijer over any other grocery store for a number of reasons. Their curbside was AMAZING when I first began picking up from them, but as time has gone on I find myself buying less and less from Meijer (no more than I have to, really) because I'm able to get better quality products elsewhere. For example: produce. At first I was getting the best they had from apples to squash. As time went on I guess they "wised up" and started sending out produce that was pretty much on it's last legs just to get it out of the store. Once or twice I could overlook, but now no matter what I write in the little message area when I'm checking out--if I buy any produce, it's pretty much throw-away/compost material already. So, no more of that. The other half of the time they're out of pretty basic materials....one time it was toilet paper. It'd be nice to get everything I need in one place, hassle free--but anymore I'm just trying to find ways around going here if I can. read more
