    Swedish meatballs

I love this location! IKEA has such great furniture and design options - this is always a go to place to go in the winter when wanting new design inspo. I decided to try the Swedish meatball meal in the cafeteria, and wasn't too impressed. The line was very long and the food was just okay- not sure it was worth the hype. The prices were great, however, and could be good for an easy quick meal! Staff was moderately friendly and quiet.

We visited IKEA to take advantage of the birthday perks they offer. This location in Canton, Michigan has their showrooms on the top floor and shopping on the main level. There are some items sold throughout the showroom section but the main shopping is the lower level. We walked through the showroom areas on the top floor to get an idea of what we'd want to buy. Since their restaurant is located on this floor, we ate before going downstairs. There was a line for food (it's cafeteria style where you grab a tray and walk through the line to pick out what you want) but it was moving very quickly. The line cooks were very personable but when I got to the cashier, she was not friendly at all and had double-charged me for my meal. When I questioned it, there was no apology. She just corrected it and told me the new price. I found that odd since I've never encountered this type of attitude at this store before (at any of their locations). It was this interaction that lowered my rating from a 4 star to a 3 star as it left a bad feeling the remainder of my visit. I ended up getting their typical Swedish meatballs meal (comes with peas and mashed potatoes). I also got a slice of the chocolate cake for my birthday perk. It was really good but very chocolatey so be aware! After our meal, we walked through the lower/main level, picking up odds and ends for the kitchen and bath and used their self-checkout. IKEA hasn't offered bags for purchases for years now so be sure to bring your own bags if you anticipate buying anything. I like shopping here and I like their meals in the restaurant so we'll return to hopefully a different experience in the future.

I love IKEA! We usually have things delivered to the house but we're here for work and stopped in without an appointment to make revisions to a kitchen plan. Jeremiah was awesome, he had everything resolved in less than 1/2 an hour. Wish we lived closer, so much to choose from.

Nate wanted to buy some shelves at IKEA so we stopped by recently. I think this was my first time visiting this IKEA location. Luckily it was not busy at all, we went on a weekday around noon. The store is huge and the flow is pretty much one way, so you kind of have to walk through the whole place to get to what you're looking for. It's okay though because they have SO MUCH to see - I particularly like the different setups showing all their items in little fake rooms. If you can imagine something for your house, they probably sell it at IKEA. Luckily we were on a mission to get in and out quickly, so we only bought two items - the shelf Nate wanted, and a bamboo cutting board for me. Some other things that caught my eye: the chairs (they have SO MANY chairs), bedding (I've bought comforters at IKEA before), lots and lots of kitchenware items, and tons of fake plants. To purchase any large items, just take a photo of the tag that tells where it's stored in the self-service area (warehouse at the end of the store). Then just find the row and grab the box(es). The item we were looking for was right at the entrance of the self-service area which was handy. There's a restaurant upstairs and a grab and go food/snack area right after the checkouts.

The power was out, and they were running on generators, so it almost felt like shopping after hours. IKEA is still fun for certain items, but for a lot of things, we've moved past that first-apartment style. If you're going in for specific pieces, though, it's great.

Fun place for stylish furniture on a budget! This was THE place before moving to college to get dorm stuff back in the day, but even today I really appreciate the vast selection of home accessories and small items that is far less expensive than other retailers. The self-serve component, for me, is fun! I could see why it might not be everyone's cup of tea. I always plan for a ton of time for my IKEA trips so I could browse the showrooms for fun and the marketplace downstairs as well. The dining area is huge and I genuinely enjoy the meals, also for a great price. Swedish meatballs plate is a classic of course, but tried the garlic lemon cod today and that was delicious as well! Large section at checkout of food/pantry/freezer items to take home.

A great store for everything home and decorations at a great price. I love the Swedish meatballs in the restaurant and the famous cinnamon rolls

YOOOOOO did you all know this was happening? A Crate and Barrel outlet in Metro Detroit? Because I…read moredidn't! I stumbled upon a news article about the opening just this afternoon and made a beeline for them almost immediately. I'm in the market for a new dresser and thought it would be good to get there sooner rather than later. The space is no frills, pretty open concept with everything stretched before you. It's a huge space tho, so there's a lot to browse. They opened just yesterday and we were informed that many of their outdoor pieces were snatched up but there was still A TON of stuff to consider. If you're looking for a new couch or living room furniture you have to get there now because that makes up the majority of their stock. I also spent some time with the dining tables as I'm looking for a new one for our house as well. It's an outlet so, as expected, what you're going to lose in slightly damaged pieces you'll make up in markdowns. They had a number of beautiful pieces that I had admired on their websites (this store covers Crate and Barrel, CB2, and Crate and Barrel Kids, FYI) with injuries ranging from small nicks to full on scratches and damaged corners (those pieces were priced accordingly, tho). There was a really nice dining table with a few leafs that I considered but after spending almost 15 years with a scratched up table I inherited from a cousin I think that's one item I'd like to be in pristine condition if I can help it. They also have a ton of office furniture, a bit of patio, beds/headboards, nightstands, sideboards/buffets, consoles, coffee tables, etc. They also had a lot of dressers. I considered a couple but the space I'm looking to fill is on the smaller side and there weren't any options this time around petite enough. But it was cool to see so many of the dressers I'd drooled over on their website pretty deeply marked down (an additional 50% on bedroom furniture) without any noticeable damage. The perimeters of the store are filled with shelves full of decor and other home items like bedding, hampers, and a ton of kitchenware like dish sets, serving ware, pots and pans and even a few small appliances like microwaves and even a KitchenAid mixer on sale. The thing about outlets, though, is if you go in looking for anything in particular you're probably NOT going to find it. But if you go in without expectations you'll surely walk out with a lot of treasures. Since I was in the former camp today I didn't leave with anything but I can't wait to regularly pop over there to scour their new arrivals (a staff person told us they plan to get 2-3 shipments a week) and hopefully bring home something special in the future!

I had stopped into another Home Goods the week prior to look at holiday stuff and not sure if it was the selection or the way things were organized, but I ended up leaving without getting anything because it felt a little chaotic and nothing really caught my eye. At this location, I ended up getting pretty much everything for the holidays! It's our very first Christmas in our house, so I was looking to add quite a bit to what I already had from Christmases in a smaller condo. Picked up many pieces that look great together for the fireplace mantel, stockings, ornaments, throw pillows, a cozy throw, candles, and some other knick knacks. So cute and festive and good prices. Left with a full cart!

It's like its sister store TJ Maxx. There are so many things to browse, and the clearance section is awesome, especially after the holidays. The customer service here is better than the TJ Maxx in Canton. Some downsides: it could be better organized and it is smaller than the location in Novi. Besides that, I'm a fan, and HomeGoods is one of the best additions to Ford Road. It's one of the main reasons I even go shopping at Ford Road.
